I always explained it by the fact he was turned into a ghost, not died and became a ghost. Therefore, he wasn’t quite dead, but not quite alive either, meaning he had some ghost qualities and some human ones, hence being able to give off a heat signature Or Ronin could have just been lying and it was actually something completely different, expecting Cole to stop and think about it to give him an easier shot. That seems like something he would do. I spend way too much time trying to come up with actual lore explanations to plot holes and inconsistencies lmao
