My fav season. I was an excited little kid whose favorite character was Zane. The season has its drawbacks, but the atmosphere is so unique and charming. Maybe it's because I was growing up, but I've never been so engrossed in a ninjago story since then
The love triangle was so unnecessary (even Tommy Andreasen disliked it), and it's very obvious that it mainly existed just because they didn't know what to do with Nya, Jay and Cole, even though a technology focused season would've had a lot of potential for Jay, there really should've been a lot more moments of him nerding out like him fanboying over Cyrus Borg or going into space, with Nya, I feel like they should've utilized her rivalry with Cryptor more, as for Cole, still has the issue of early Ninjago were Cole doesn't really have anything to do, and is just along for the ride, there wasn't really any big potential for him in Rebooted, and no moments that could've been expanded upon. The love triangle is a prime example of the Hageman brothers having a bad idea and not being told "no" and the season actively suffers as a result, not the worst idea they've had, that goes to the whole disgusting Nadakhan, Delara and Nya plotline in Skybound, but still a pretty bad idea.
Actually, the origin of the Serpentine is not retconned. The snakes moved underground after that early conflict, but they didn't stay underground all the time. They could come and go as they wanted, it was their home, not a prison. Yet. The Elemental Masters later imprisoned them there after another conflict much later. What I find really strange is that they act in this season like there was this big time skip, but several seasons later, the ninja are somehow still teenagers, so the timeskip can't have been that big.
This season had 3 highlights for me and the rest was meh, the highlights were 1) all the times Lloyd and Garmadon spent together, especially the episode where Garmadon is training Lloyd to control his power as they were scaling a mountain, their dynamic was great and I love that we got more of it in season 4 2) the contrast between Garmadon and Wu's mentoring methods, Wu trusts the ninja to handle themselves in whatever situation they're in, so he's more hands off on their missions, which is contrasted by Garmadon who is more Hand on and want them to be as focused as possible on the task at hand to avoid unnecessary risks like Kai being discovered when he was supposed to be stealthy and the ninjas ending up in space, the contrast is good and none of them is completely right or wrong in their way, they're basically 2 sides of the Same coin and I love that 3) Zane's sacrifice, what's left to say about this, the music, the visuals, the reaction of the other characters and also this was before Zane had been rebuilt numerous times, so we really did believe he was gone, I do think the ending scene kinda breaks the emotion a bit since we then knew Zane was alive going into the next season but it wasn't that bad and at least it happened after the funeral and not before, so during the funeral we took everything as seriously as the characters did Overall I think the season was decent
You know, I watched a Tannerfishies video on the Love Triangle subject and suggested it would've been a better plot if the Overlord tampered with the machine to make Nya fall in love with Cole and in turn divide the ninja.
I always wondered why Ninjago City got rid of all the futuristic technology after this season. I mean I know the Overlord took over the system the first time but the technoblades are still presumably in the digiverse and the technology did seem more useful then the stuff before and kinda after plus I wanted to see the Ninja start using some of that tech more after this season like we could have gotten Kai using a laser katana but no they got rid of it all (like seriously the only remnants of the futuristic New Ninjago City are some of the looks of the buildings). Can you imagine seeing Rebooted New Ninjago City during the season 9 and onward era’s because that’s where the animation and effects got LEAGUES BETTER. I can imagine Wildbrane making New Ninjago city look more vibrant and Cyberpunky (Also think the Ninja still have those stone armors laying around somewhere in the later seasons?)
One thing i loath about this season is that they absolutely wasted Golden Power and undermined the events of S2, it would been better if all five ninja each get 20% of Golden Power at the end of the Overlord's defeat, due to how important GP is lore wise.
In my opinion this season was absolutely amazingly, watching as a kid was so much fun, the overlord return in a scary way where he uses the USM golden power had me feeling that ninjas were doomed, Zane sacrifice is probably one of the best episodes of the series, the only bad flaw that I hated was the love triangle, its so annoying and unnecessary out of place😐
I don’t hate this season if anything I actually enjoyed it so much there was maybe a few weird things like nya having mixed feelings for Cole and jay and having them against each other. Or the fact that they became teachers despite being teenagers. But overall if Zane was one of you’re top three at the time then you would have enjoyed the season and I loved the nindroids it gave a very futuristic feeling. So not everything was bad the overlord being the main focused is amazing too considering he wasn’t fully killed.
No way bone theme at the end, fellow OST enjoyer! Personally I really loved rebooted but it definitely felt like it needed 2 more episodes to better flesh out story parts. Just more time for lore and lines.
I don't know if this is a Mandela effect but I believe I remember people hated season 3 when it came out and or revealed does anyone else remember this?
I like how Scales' wife is pink because it's how young kids would think female snakes would look like, and also probably to not make it confusing and people would think Scales is gay raising an adopted son
I had accidentally watched the wrong show (ninjago 2022, instead of masters of spinjizu) so the first thing i saw was Zane, being very much alive, and a robot. So great. Spoiled one of the greatest fake-out death for me. Cherish it guys, i never had that luxury
The thing I dislike most about rebooted is that it's main villain is overlord.. AGAIN! I was already sick and tired of the whole overlord stuff before season 2 even ended. Imo crystalized handled overlord better than season 2 or 3 did, but I still honestly dislike crystalized a lot.
I think rebooted is okay I like that pythor returned and a Zane sacrifice even though he return next season but I glad the show continued and we got season 4, 5, and later on the oni trilogy.
The love triangle is the worse that’s why rebooted season is the worst season in my opinion it’s just hard to watch when jay and Cole argue and Cole only like nya because the computer say so
I don't think they pulled the elemental shield out of there ass, I'm pretty sure it's the same one kai used in season one to save Lloyd when he unlocked his "full potential".
What i didnt like about this season was the way decided to just nerf the hell out of Lloyd. The show creator explained that they had to do that because Lloyd basically was God level or at least had the God level power and potential. And yes, Creation is part of his power skillset as he created that bike using it. Not only does he have control over the 4 main elements, but he has Golden power and Creation and Destruction at the same time. He could EASILY defeat any of the villains that followed the seasons of Rebooted, but lets be honest by then there wouldn't be much of a story. But I'm not gonna lie, I loved seeing Lloyd all powerful and he still only scratched part of his abilities as the Golden ninja. Just imagine what greater things he could do. The dude could move mountains with his mind. He also has excess to energy too, which didn't make sense why he couldn't counterattack against the tech army nindroids of the Overlord. Nevertheless I loved the season, especially the episodes Lloyd was still the golden ninja in, like The Surge and the Titanium ninja where Zane defeated the Overlord .
how is rebooted bad i dont get the issue, i mean its far from perfect (besides episodes 1 5 and 8) it’s a perfectly fine B tear season zane is peek golden master is sick pythons return was perfect all characters besides jay cole and nya where near perfect someone please explain the problem with the season other then the love triangle
Dumb concepts like the ninja going to space or the digiverse. Also Zane’s arc is pretty stupid. The technoblades have a dumb ability. The overlord returns. Wrong place wrong time sets up the space episode and is yet another reason why it’s the worst episode. Sensei wu turns into a robot. The overlord is saved 2 times 1. From the blackout 2. Almost dying in the digi verse. Lloyd gets nerfed. The only good thing of this season is the sort of fun adventure, Zane and Pixals dynamic, Sensei Garmadon and Lloyd’s dynamic.
I THINK THE LOVE TRIANGLE EXIST JUST TO BE RUINED JUST TO REFLECTE TO ZANE AND PIXEL RELTION AND WHY COLE WILL KIA IS NAYS BRO AND ZANE IS A NINDROID AND NOW GOT GF SO COLE
Yea s4 is a little too overrated I don't really see much in it, but yea Ig different ppl have different interests, personally from S0-S7 I prefer Skybound, S8-S10 I prefer Sons of Garmadon, S11-S15 I prefer Seabound, and I love Dragons Rising Season 1.
agreed this season besides Zanes death wasn't all that good in my opinion season 4 did a better job at getting things going again. the overlord was just kind of irritating and weak most of the time and the season felt very short bland and stale to me.
