I think spinjitzu is a unique concept. The ability to essentially become one with a force of nature is fascinating to me

I think the personality and feelings of the Spinjitzu user affects the color of their vortex. As for Zane doing it on his head, Cole punching the ground, and Lloyd doing hand movements in the Oni Trilogy, I don’t think they have to do it, they just choose to. I mean, it does look cool.

I think that maybe the weird motions in season 8 were to power up a more powerful version of spinjitzu that the ninja could use in more serious fights.

Their are 2 things I don’t get in Ninjago: 1) Why the ninja don’t use spinjitzu or elemental powers almost at all in the later seasons, and 2) Why is nobody else trying to learn spinjitzu? Even without superpowers, it seems like a good idea so the civilians can at least defend themselves.

I actually always assumed spinjitzu was only visible to the viewer and in reality the ninja looked as if there simply spining incredibly fast to every in universe character there elemental powers only start causing damage to there suronding or enemies after gaining there tru potential so they're simply using there powers while spining the only issue would be the tornado of creation but IDK this is just my own theory or head Canon cause with this idea in mind the show become a comedy when there use spinjitzu with this idea in the back of your mind Edit. The color of the Spinjitzu is mainly determined by the element, and is affected by the color of the users' clothing, the reason Pink Zane had pink was because white as a color is more vulnerable to influence by other colors, which is the reason you never put non-white (read: red) clothes together with white ones when you wash them.

Misako probably has silver spinjitzu due to her grey hair... Hair could also affect your spinjitzu color

This is a great video Tanner! My theory for the vortex is a mix of elemental powers and MENTAL STATE, not clothing. Zane was thinking about his pink outfit the whole episode, Misako was thinking about fighting with Wu, alongside him, backing him up. Her color would hence be silver, since silver and gold are often seen together and complement each other. Do you guys agree? Why or why not?

Tommy actually went on a whole thing about how the show creators created spinjitzu initially, I don't actually think it was ever intended to be this it just kind of evolved to it. As for consistency we're talking about a show where a bunch of yellow Lego people fight human size snakes every other season, whield elemental powers, and somehow find a way to smell. It's not the most consistent thing in the world, but that being said still a lot better than other things

Maybe the spinjitzu that the ninja use with some bits of their elements are when they do spinjitzu and add thair elemental powers for extra boost just like what we saw with nya fighting murtessa

My theory is that the weird dances and hand movements were so they could use a more powerful and stable version of spinjitzu that the ninja could use in more dangerous and drawn out fights like maybe to get more momentum so they could spin longer

Here is my theory, on the hand movements and standing on there head. Doing those new techniques may help them to keep held on to a longer spin. What I mean is they never stay in there spinjitzu spin for long, so these techniques help the make a longer spinjitzu spin. It seems like it does it not.

Lloyd had gold spinjitzu in season 3 when he was wearing green again I just believe it's your element but sometimes things with spinjitzu might change because random reasons

Nya’s vortex in the final battle (when she was evil from the darkmatter) was red

You forgot to explain the circular spinjitsu. I think its because of some personalities and thoughts of ninja.

In the oni trilogy Kai’s and Zane’s spinjitzu seemed like round shapes and Nya’s also seemed a little weird.

i like to think it more has to do with the mentality and the element if applicable, basically how you think and feel, which would explain why Zane's was pink, he was quiet mad and worried, got called pinky, it was in his head that he was the pink ninja at the time, and his spinjitzu reflected that at the time, same with Wu's being gold, hes a kind hearten soul who does good, Garmadon is evil, hence the dark purple

Maybe the point of the before- spinjitzu warm-ups are for power boost again or more control one ones power in using spinjitzu

I always saw spinjitzu as more of a technique in a similar manner to the rasengan, Kamehameha or hadouken more than a fighting style

I think that the different animation studios are the ones to blame for spinjitzu being so weird and it’s very simple to keep that consistent: copy, paste, and edit very simple.

For the color I like to think that it has multiple variants. If the user has an elemental power, it will be that element. If they don’t but have some other factor like magic, sorcery, curses, oni power, etc. that affects the color too. But if they have none of this than it’s just the silver tornado thing, like the one misako has, or gold, like doubloon. I have pretty much no explanation with the pink one

I think the color of spinjitzu is determined by personality. Zane's was pink for that one part, because sometimes when you are in a certain scenario, you're personality will differ, and Zane was just so embarrassed that his personality turned pink. This also works well because most of the ninja (Nya is Ann exception) have powers/colors based off of their personalities. So, thinking spinjitzu is all about personality makes sense to me.

I'm ngl the pink spinjitzu was more of a gag than a serious thing they also made a few weird decisions in s1/2 like when Jay used wind, I also feel that seson 8-10 brang up alot of plot holes since the creators were clearly trying to experiment and change the power scaling and they probably just came to finalise and remove some things in s11 one example of this is the ninja having to have their elements present in the area instead of it previously emerging randomly from their hands

Yes, but being a part of the first spinjitzu master's family tree without Elemental power is i think non sense. So maybe misako have an elemental power maybe something like silver liquid and she can make a force field, blasts or something powerful. Yes but silver what kind of element is that? Pink Spinjitzu for pink ninja Zane was just for making it funnier, out-of-universe-wise, though in-universe, maybe the color of pink has a special effect on Spinjitzu for some reason. In-universe, the Spinjitzu color is probably just from the inner life-energy of a person based on their physical and mental/spiritual natures (like "ki" in the _Dragon Ball_ series, or chakra in the _Naruto_ series). With the Oni trilogy, my personal head-canon is that the ninja do their special warm-up actions to perform Spinjitzu because doing so enhances the overall strength and abilities of Spinjitzu, and they figured this out sometime between seasons 7 and 8. In seasons 11 and beyond, I think they stopped because of their laziness which was showcased at the start of season 11.

Hold up. How was Garmadon able to join the tornado of creature if he is destruction? Wu already had creation so his spinjitzu is technically a small tornado. And energy and water is not a creation element. It confuses me.

This is me spouting things to spout things: I always felt like the lore aspect of the motions they did in Season 8 were meant to in a way refine their spinjitzu since during that time Wu was gone and they probably felt like they needed to strengthen their skills and techniques and this was one of those ways

Then you remember yellow people with no nose makes no sense too and the whole series make no sense

My question is how spinjitzu burst even works. Cole was able to use it at the lowest point in the earth he could be. Nya would be able to use it in the ocean. But where tf is Jay gonna do it? Lightning storm? What about Kai? Volcano? The sun? Now consider that the primary elements of creation don’t include water, so that doesn’t decide if someone can do spinjitzu burst. Does this also mean only Wu could use burst while garmaddon can’t? There’s creation all around them, but there is no destruction all around them. Makes no damn sense

I thought about this thing for the first time when I saw Aspheera's Spinjitzu's vortex: she had no elemental powers when Wu thaught her, but she had a color. So, everyone has got his/her own light. Maybe it's a halo, a Qi thing, like in DragonBall Z. That does not explain Zane's pink halo, though. Maybe he felt pink, whatever it means; he is the one with literaly butterflies in his stomach, so he can also feel pink and make it make sense.

I think the weird warm-up things were just for show, and didn't have anything to do with the actual spinjitzu.

If the user doesnt have an element it is mainly grey thats why the clothes can change the color also if the user has an element its way different because. if the user loses his/her elemental power temporarily they lose their elemental spinjitzu and need to re-learn it

My in universe theory about the Spinjitzu vortexes looked different & the hand motions in season's 8,9 & 10 is because maybe the ninja's elements have gotten more powerful & the have to do hand motions to start up the vortex. Then when the wildbrain seasons begin they have full control of the powers so they just have to spin again & they mostly go back to the mini-tornado look with slight differences

Well the element and clothes dont go for nya. Hers is just either. When she has the maroon outfit the spinjitzu is grey and when she is in grey its sometimes light blue. So her color changes. Coles not so much as only the tip of his spinjitzu is orng.

I don’t think lego care a lot about the consistency.for example, after wu disappear in season 7, ninjas still had the same appearance at that moment.However, their clothes style and their appearance change a lot since season 8

I noticed in the eariler seaons in Ninjago (season 1-8) that all the ninjas spinjitzu consist of a energy tornado like form but just different colours from each other. Like how kai has the same texture as jay or coles sinjitzu, the only difference being the effects and colour. However after season 7 the ninjas tornado were ACTUALLY spinjitzu made of there element. Like how Nya's was a water toranado instead of a energy-like texture with just a blue colouring. This same rule applies to jay, cole, kai and zane. Of course this rule doesn't matter to Lloyd as his element is energy and will always have that energy texture with the colour green.

Maybe Zane's was pink because his spinjitzu is really light, so his pink suit simply "bleed" into it (like he spinning so fast that it just kinda visually mixed) but i don't know.

Also, what's the point of Spinjitzu if every villain ever just punch the performer and the performer get pushed away and Spinjitzu cancels out.

Maybe it's the "aura" of the person? But if not then yeah I agree that it combines outfit and element, and probably other factors that pertain to that person.

1:11 My theory is that the colour of spinjitsu is tied to the person's heart, Garmadon and Aspheera had evil in their hearts, that made their colours purple. The ninja also live by their elemental powers, even before their powers were released from their hands they relied and wanted on weapons that controlled their elements. Elemental power was also a big part of their hearts, if that was missing they didn't feel like themselves, which caused all kinds of elements to appear as their spinjitsu The uniforms they wear are also a big part of their hearts, because they don't feel themselves without it, when Lloyd lost his green suit he told his father he didn't know if he was still the Green Ninja back in season 5. So when Zane wore it, the spinjitsu became pink because he was embarrassed and the uniform was always on his mind. Someone could say "well Nya's spinjitsu was yellowish orange in season 2 when she was evil, why wasn't her spinjitsu purple?" It think it's cause her heart wasn't actually evil, when all of Ninjago became like her we saw people just acting like zombies, not doing evil deeds, meaning it was just the Overlord controlling them, not actually because they wanted to do it. I guess the counter argument could be that if Kai thought he was the green ninja in season one, his spinjitsu would have been green

Tanner I have a real theory about who is Lloyds Father. So Garmadon & Misako don't have blond hair (even in the flashbacks) but Wu does. Lloyd has blond hair. Maybe Misako and Wu had a relationship while Garmadon was in the underworld? That explains how Lloyd could have been born because why would Garmadon come back to Ninjago after 30 years in the Underworld to make your so called Wife pregnant and go back to being Evil, makes no sense right? This theory patches a lot of things in Ninjagos timeline because why the heck would Misako be pregnant for 20 years until Lloyd is born?
