Agree! Can we add to that the lovely swing actions they produce which is the main characteristic of jive and so often almost completely absent in some of these speed machines.

Cat Jones. Power, speed and high energy don't necessarily make for musically rhythmical Latin dancing. Nino and Andras dancing style is perhaps not so appreciated by younger dancers who have been feasted with 2 decades of slick, highly technical power Latin dancing. Some see this as under done and some like me see the power dancers as often over exaggerated and musically unrhythmical. I am well aware that this routine is quite basic, but I love basics when done well and at least they dance musically and as a very connected couple and not individuals as is the case with many. This is partner dancing after all. Id be interested to know what jive couples you do like. I suspect I have a pretty good idea already.

Valerie Edwards. I don't know if its a question of fitness or if its their style of dance which I personally love. Some dancers I see today perform the jive is so fast and energetic that I feel its gotten to the point where it looks more like two crickets walking across a burning hot tin roof. (NOT PRETTY). From a spectators point of view great Latin dancing is about much more than speed, power and athleticism which seems to be the main focus in this style of Latin dance now. To each ones own but I think they are plenty fit. The music also went for almost 2 minutes which is quite long.

@@joetesta3352 Andra believes in a more authentic style of jive which is why they kick a lot less than some of the other couples - they focus more on the swing of it

@@caitlinandrews9724 Precisely why I like them so much, because they have remained faithful to the roots of the dances and not fallen into the kick and flick fest which Jive has so much become in recent years, Many Jives I see are so loaded with high leg lifts, jumps, showmanship, circus tricks and theatrics and one has to look hard to find any good, loose rhythmical swing action which is what this dance is built on.

Helge Christopherson. Another of your stupidly ignorant and nasty comments. This is one of the most authentically Latino couples and this lady has been ranked as High as No2 in the world with Maurizio and has been in the top 3 or 4 for over 10 years and you have the gall to make such a derogatory statement as this one. Dancesport Latin has its place but you clearly have no understanding of real Latin dance outside of the corrupted European/dancesport version. Please keep your narrow minded nastiness to yourself and educate yourself before you say anything that only makes you look dumb and poorly informed.
