I wonder if Coppola knew when he asked for the Going to L.A. music that Rota gave him music he wrote in the 50s for Fellini's Toby Dammit and another film as well?
That theme from the Godfather Part II when Hyman Roth, Frank Pentangelli, and Fredo get knocked off is the best music of the series. I can't find it ANYWHERE!
Not entirely true, Nino Rota wrote the main themes, but Carmine Coppola wrote some of the more background music, like the piano tune that he can be seen playing in mattress scene. he also wrote a few of the wedding songs.
