A lot of people are pointing out some of the spelling errors in the iceberg image. I'm aware of them and I believe the iceberg image creator is not a native English speaker
@@BlizzardWindowsNTit’s pretty much what happened with the Wii U to switch. Now Nintendo is doomed to release new consoles mid-generation like they will with the switch 2
tbf the E10+ rating didn't exist until the mid 2000s so games with any kind of violence got the rating. The Incredibles game for example also had a T rating lol
I played hey you Pikachu! It worked very well at the time I played it for hundred of hours, had a lot of content for a kid like me who always loved doing nothing in games
fair warning as i mentioned in the video i don't believe it's 100% finished. looking a tiny bit into it, it seems like its pretty far along, maybe 80% done
I played Hey You Pikachu as a kid and still play it every now and then. A little jealous of the comments saying theirs always worked perfectly because I had the opposite experience lol. It's still a guilty pleasure game for me
it'd be amazing to see a part 2 video that delves into some of the more obscure games on the system! this video was still good and all, but it seemed to focus on the same 10 or so games.
Also for the L is Real 2401 thing, the day Luigi was found in the source code was July 25, or 7/25. 2+4+0+1=7, 24+01=25. Either someone knew the exact perfect day to leak Luigi, or things accidentally worked out exactly as they were always intended to
An important thing to note on the "So long, Gay Bowser" part. Martinet was actually incorrect. The real line is simply "So long-a-Bowser" but I believe Nintendo wanted to avoid any connections with the "gay Bowser" line so they had him claim it was something completely different. Now that we have uncompressed audio, it's unmistakable what the line actually is.
@@GK_GotKilled That's also a possibility. Or even that he had done multiple takes with different lines. But we do know what he said was wrong for sure.
You missed something. In the "so long gay bowser" thing, Nintendo actually changed it to "Bye Bye!" In the switch version. This was also memed, with people saying bowser is bisexual, and that this is basically that reveal.
While you mostly did a fine job covering everything I do have to say this iceberg itself is really not that good. So many entries are extremely weak, questionable, unneeded, and are complete surface level knowledge even after the first layer. Like an entry just for Pokemon Snap in the third one, really? Then stuff like Mother 3, Mario Artist, etc really didn't need to be as low as they are just to name a couple. What makes it all the more confusing though is how later on there is the occasional very interesting entry not even I really knew about mixed in with all the sky tier stuff.
Yea, I didn't want to editorialize in the video but I didn't fully agree with the placements of things myself. I feel as if a lot of iceberg image creators don't really follow the tier levels very "strictly", but mostly as a means to evenly distribute the entries
Nice man this video is pretty dope!! Now, can you please do a GameCube iceberg as well as videos of mini game reviews of Mario Parties 3-10? As well as Mario Party Advance, DS, Island Tour, Star Rush, The Top 100, Super Mario Party, and now Mario Party Superstars?!
@@GK_GotKilled thanks man. Also, I was wondering if you could also do a Game Boy iceberg, Game Boy Advance iceberg, Nintendo DS iceberg, Nintendo 3DS iceberg, Wii iceberg, Switch iceberg, NES iceberg, and SNES iceberg please.
@@GK_GotKilled no, none of them have had videos yet. Although I wouldn't be surprised if someone already made an iceberg video for the Switch already as that is a pretty dang popular console man. I only suggest these because A) For sure people like myself and others (as well as you too maybe) might find these pretty interesting and B) You and me are both die hard video game and Nintendo fans man.
ah yes "so long gay bowser" i think its just "so long-a bowser", the typical Italian accent stereotype. There is just NO WAY you can fit a "King-A Bowser" in between that. It's just like when you try to force a certain sentence into a line or rap and it just wont fit-
8:45 If by figured out you mean it wasn't at all, and a workaround was made instead. The VRU is unemulated to this day, and the only way to get Hey You! Pikachu to work in an emulator is to buy a fan made N64 controller to USB adapter and use a real VRU.
that whole HAL/IBM thing is actually courtesy of Arthur C. Clarke...HAL 9000 is the name of the computer AI that is the Antagonist for 2001:space odyssey...im guessing the founders of that company are big fans. Which makes perfect sense for a bunch of nerdy programmers
These icebergs stack their stuff so weird. Why are Fists of Furry and DK Racing's roster sitting among weird stuff, canceled games, and a PP? Why is "Get N or Get Out" on the penultimate tier? Also surprised Dragon Ball Gold isn't on here.
Also all of the Pitfall games were made by ActiVision, all the way back to the original in 1982, so Pitfall! 64 could still theoretically be anything, but it's still probably Pitfall 3D. BTW that game wasn't great but the voice acting from Bruce Campbell and Catherine Sutherland are top-notch.
I was shocked by the quality of this video and the number of subscribers that you have. The video is put together surprisingly good and the entires are delivered really clearly. Keep it up!
I have a Hyundai comboy 64 brand new in box, i opened it though, but i could never use it since the plugs are different from the outlets here in America
This was good quality content about the N64. Also if you make a part 2 you should mention the n64 transfer pak and the theory to play game boy games on the tv
21:20 The reason multiplayer was cut is because there is unfinished code in the game, but when finished, you unlock multiplayer mode. A rom hack by Kaze allows you to play multiplayer.
34:23 I believe Pitfall 64 is actually a reference to the popular joke about a theoretical SNES game by that title. The joke exists because the NES Pitfall game is called Super Pitfall.
Skull kid is one of my favorite antagonists, he is misunderstood and taken advantage of by Majora mask, he got a sense a power and it felt good for him, but again was toss aside when Majora didn’t need his ass no more.
Its “So long-a bowser” with the a coming from Mario’s exaggerated Italian accent. I don’t care what Charles Martinet said, there is clearly no “king” in there at all.
I'm legitimately surprised the scrapped kimba the white loin game didn't make it on to the iceberg. That one had a very interesting behind the scenes development.
Thank you. Now that I got a new job with better work/life balance, I hope to get back into making more videos. idk if I would make any more icebergs, as most good topics have already been done and the trend has died down a bit. But I'll think of something
here they are in order, though I'm to lazy to timestamp these Mario 64 Bob-Omb Battlefield, Mario Party 2 Horror Land, Earthbound 64 Taitsumairi Village, Glover Overworld (Four or Five Crystals), Kirby 64 Quiet Forest, Pokemon Puzzle League Sabrina's Theme, Majora's Mask Astral Observatory, Ocarina Of Time Forest Temple, Paper Mario Shooting Star Summit, Donkey Kong 64 Crystal Caves, Star Fox 64 Aquas, Mario 64 fake beta creepypasta "spacescene", Glover Overworld (No Crystals)
