Nintendo 64 Longplay [046] South Park 

Back in late 1998, I had my first sleepover at a friends house. His mom took us to the mall to eat pizza. As we walked by the video game store my friend saw the South Park game in the display and begged his mom to buy it for him. I joined the begging and we convinced her that it was a game for kids...she bought it, literally. We played all night and laughed our asses off. Such a great memory. Love this video game!!

When I got this game in 5th grade, I had to play it in secret so my parents didn’t see or hear. It wasn’t long after the parents tried to get their impressionable kids to stop watching South Park, but that never happened. I still watch 20 years later

I was obsessed with this game. This was 1998 before I had any access to the internet or anything... I loved the show. It was like a guilty pleasure - it appealed to my childlike senses with the cartoons and the characters and the colors, but it was an adult-themed show which made it even more pleasurable in a forbidden way... I could only ever savor in South Park when the show was on television (came on at 9pm central time, which was a little late for kids). I bought some south park toys to hold me over from show to show as well, but when I rented the game from Blockbuster it felt like I could "live and play" in that south park world whenever I wanted. Good memories, haha

This was also released on PSX, but the N64 version will always be better because who doesn't like four-player deathmatches with three of your friends.

Great game. It feels like you really are in the show. The cut scenes are great, the game has the sense of humor the show has, it's fun and replayable. Highly underrated

This is one of the only games that I like but everyone else hates.

People can hate all they want. If you didn't grow up when South Park first aired & then ended up getting this game when it was released, (which was unbelievable that it was so accurate to the show) then you're just not gonna understand.

I used to be terrified of this game as a kid.. the low draw distance made enemies appear so close to you and the low fov meant they would surround you from all sides in no time it was scary af

This game is basically Turok: Dinosaur Hunter with South Park characters and setting.

I actually love this game, I have ever since it came out (I was 5.) This was one of my brother's games that I wasn't allowed to play, but still did. I think it's really fun, and it controls just like Turok. I don't understand how people find the controls so difficult. This is a fun game to pick up and play every once in a while. I remember getting in a lot of trouble with my friend's mother, because I brought this game over his house. We were playing multiplayer, and If you play split screen duels, when you shoot someone with the cow launcher, your opponent's head goes into the cows vagina, and your enemy slowly suffocates. I guess cow pussy offended her...

Fun fact: Darren Mitchell composed the soundtrack for this game. He is also known for the soundtrack for the Turok games, which are as awesome as this gem.

A nostalgia brick just hit me full on in the face, this brings back some great memories. I remember being so excited to explore all of the locations from the show, it's not perfect by any stretch but I honestly think there's still a lot of fun to be had from this. Interesting that a lot of fellow RU-vidrs only focus on the (HIGHLY INFERIOR) PS1 port of the game.

Love this game so much. Wish they can rerelease this game on modern consoles like they did with Turok, Perfect dark, Conker, n many other games.

This is the first South Park videogame ever. A Shooting Game with a good concept and ideas, which unfortunately was very rushed, that explains the lack of variety of enemies and glitches. But it is still playable. The voices, senseless humor and multiplayer mode are nice. Very good for entertaining for a while.

I'm not kidding you, my dad bought this game for our N64 when I was eight and it was one of my favorite games and he never said anything when I played it. Never could get past the first level tho.

You killed the final boss so fast! Makes me angry, I could never do it. Can’t get to mad about it though; I played this game wayyy before I should’ve been allowed too. Like 5 years old. Way to young to comprehend weapon damage and luring the robot far enough away from the recharge pad. (Just used a cheat to get to the last level) Looks like the game is relatively hard. I was in like 5th grade my buddy Derick let me borrow this for a weekend. I guess his parents didn’t know what South Park really was like mine did which is why he had a copy, but my dad knew the show was full of adult/sexual humor and a lot of cussing and didn’t let me watch it much less buy the game for me. So I had to keep it in my backpack and sneakily play it late when everyone was sleep or when they left the house. Good fckin times man. Times I will always remember.

I can't be the only one who thought this game was a little unsettling as a kid. The uncanny animation, the incredibly tiny draw distance giving the impression of thick fog, the large sprawling landscapes that were easy to get lost in, the loud as hell turky enemies that surrounded you and killed you in matter of seconds, the spacious electronic background music. Not to mention the main story about an alien invasion or that creepy ass alien that kills kenny at the beginning of the game. (I think it's important to mention that I never got past the first level as a kid)

They need to make a remake of it for Wii U or PS4

for a while now, i've been having this fond memory of some random game where you'd through something at turkeys and now finally seeing this after years it's honestly great. I also remember being scared as hell from the turkeys.

I really like the 3D in this game tbh. It helps to make the enviroments feel immersive in spite of how empty they are. I feel like with some re-workings this game could have been another obscure gem for the console, especially given the engine it's running on (Turok 2).

For a South Park liscenced game using Turok 2's engine, this wasn't half bad. Though to be fair with the critics, there were much better FP shooting the N64 had to offer.

As someone who was born in ‘02 I’m glad I had an n64 and got the chance to play games like this and turok 2. Unfortunately I was too young to understand the story and would never past the first few levels :(

This was my first exposure to South Park ever back when I was like 7. I didn't see an actual episode of the show until I was like 12. So this was all I had to go on for a while.
