I read somewhere that supermarket jingles that play while you're shopping are really big in japan. like the don quixote one is really big. Nintendo probably saw an opportunity to "skeumorphize" the experience of shopping for games online in this same way.
I remember this style in nintendo games, just fresh sunny days, and wide open blue skies and everything sparkling and breezy. Don't see it much anymore, really loved that
I think the reason for that is the switch's complete lack of menu music from head to toe. Most of the tracks on the vid is system music from the Wii, the only one from a game is Wii sports resort. I will never understand Nintendo removing menu music from the switch entirely, not even having it in the mii menu or the eshop. I would have given the system much more of a personality and would have made it way more memorable, like say what you want about the Wii u's staying power but people are still going out of their way to listen to it's system menu music years later, even near the end of the switch's life. I actually recently went to a friend's house and started up their old Wii so we could play it with my younger siblings, and then the menu music hit and it gave me such a nice warm peaceful feeling. I love the switch but it's gonna be way more forgettable in several years unlike how I remember messing around with mii maker back when I was a kid back on the Wii and Wii U. Hopefully for the next console they add system music though. And add more customizable settings like the 3ds which the switch greatly needed.
@@lexfrye portable console 13 years ago made by nintendo (gasp) that had alot of very good games (in my opinion!), and some very nice music. also, it's got a fairly big modding scene so if you ever get one, make sure to mod it! ^^
I really miss this era of Nintendo. It feels like ever since Iwata passed away they lost all joy. Especially when it comes to putting personality into their consoles. I sincerely hope he is resting in peace, but man... what I would do to see this Nintendo again
They put so much effort into that wii u transfer theme, with all the Pikmin moving your stuff over, I'm glad I was able to see it myself back in the day
Wiiu Data Transfer Music is so incredibly sweet and charming, and it kinda hurts to know at this point people will never hear it doing an actual wiiu transfer. The future seemed so bright back then.
Growing up as a kid playing multiplayer with friends irl are some of my most cherished memories. Nintendo found a way to make gaming very social, we would play metroid prime bounty hunters which was kinda like quake. Hundreds of hours spent battling on pokemon. I miss those days, it sucks being an adult and I have no idea where any of my old friends are. Wish we could all link up one more time and game.
"Giant dog towers over Wuhu Island. Rather than bringing destruction to the townsfolk, it seems that the pup just wants everyone to chill to Nintendo's Frutiger Aero music while playing a game of frisbee, same doggo, same."
Dreaming of childhood summers when me and my friends stayed up all night playing Nintendo games 🥲 dang I miss the sweet fun and innocence. Wish I could relive it sometimes!

i'd do anything to leave everything behind and go and live on Wuhu Island
those memories i just wish i can go back and play the wii, being a kid and innocent.. those days were simple and i was enjoying life, banger playlist 🔥🙏
I don't normally leave behind comments, but the nintendo frutiger aero trilogy has helped me a lot while I'm self-studying a foreign language. For this one, my study sessions usually ends by the time I hear the pikmin transfer song, so it makes me imagine I'm saving my progress and it makes me feel really happy and accomplished :). Thank you tons, I'm on 200 days now w.o a missed day and this mix helped to keep that up!
the wii maker theme is forever stuck in my head from when me and my siblings/cousins would get tired of playing and it would just be playing in the background...how nostalgic!
Grew up in sunny/palm tree California with these vibes. Living away and so much changing really makes me cling to these memories and the cozyness of that time
10:26 Puzzle really hit me with the nostalgia wave man. Hooooly crap. I remember solving a puzzle out of the pictures I took on my first digital camera. Old memories.
These are possibly the most 'frutiger aero' playlists I've found.. but then they are largely based from that specific time. Well put together set though. Thank you
I wish I knew this kind of playlists existed when I was studying for my exam 😭 I had a hard time focusing without music and with music with lyrics or lo-fi beats that it wasn't enough.
Omg I remember that Wii dog and playing frisbee with it 💓 seems so long ago but I'm so happy I remember! Also thank you I love the music!! 💞🎧 brings me back
I honestly wish that the upcoming Switch "2" will have music in menus. It's one of the reasons I love nintendo. This insane attention to details everywhere, even for the background music playing in small menus!
i was not expecting to hear music from the wii photo channel, man did that hit my nostalgia nerves real hard!! x'D i used to spend so much time as a kid playing around with all the effects (and the mii integration such a fun feature)
Listening to these tracks I find it incredibly sad how much Nintendo has lost its essence, personality and distinctive touch with the Nintendo Switch to the point where it has been left up to the modders to create their own custom themes to make the experience a little more memorable.
This is such a good mix. I was getting so many chills. The wii mii maker theme made me almost cry, I wanna go back to those good times so bad. Also THE FRISBEE DOG OMG I can’t, my heart 😭💕
this is the best thing i have ever watched whilst studying, reminds me of being 12 again looking through my wii, wii u and 3ds settings and pre-installed apps.
Great playlist!! If you want some calm Nintendo music then I definitely recommend Minna no Joushiki Ryoku TV music since it has more ambient music and is a Wii title 🩷🩷🩷
I love Frutiger Aero and I love you for making this!!!! Thank you!!!! I'm so happy this aesthetic is getting such a huge resurgence + amount of attention again
you know how excited i was to see what kind of cool music and sound effects they would use for the switch menus.... then i found out what kind of cool music they chose... 😵💫
I'm really glad the Wii U exists because in an age where everybody else decided to move on from Frutiger Aero, Nintendo took a crack at it one last time. Perhaps if they had marketed it better, we may have still had fun Nintendo interfaces and menu music... Edit: Bro... I hadn't heard that Wii U eShop music in 7 years... I felt like a middle schooler again...
I used to hate frutiger music, but now that its gone on the switch, i kinda miss it. I suppose this is a lesson to enjoy the vibes while they are here 😢
6 afternoon in the summer. hotdogs from the grill in the back porch. sitting on the living room floor with enthusiasm filled eyes; watching my older siblings wave the wii remote at our 3-dimentional tv, wobbling up there on its 4-foot tall and precarious bookshelf stand. the stand filled with various Cd's dvd's and vhs tapes -- worlds waiting to be opened at our command. Moments like those -- I never knew they were leaving until they were already long gone.
