It's nice to see something come to the States thank you Nintendo

This feels like a similar situation to Next Level Games where Nintendo worked with the company before and now that there's a financial issue with their parent company it seemed like an easy decision to pick them up. I'm sure it was quite affordable as acquisitions go considering that their only a studio of around 20 people from what I've heard and they basically get to just keep doing what they were already contracted to do while also simultaneously making themselves look extra appealing for more third party companies to toss them Switch 2 port jobs which they will likely get better at doing given their closer relationship with Nintendo which will likely include tech support to help them get even more out of the hardware. This also means that Nintendo won't really need to funnel much capital into them unless they decide to grow their size a bit to handle multiple projects at once.

This is good news! It was a hell of an achievement to get those games running at all on the Switch.

This June we'll be holding a Nintendo Direct on the Nintendo Switch 1 software lineup for the second half of 2024, but please note that there won't be any mention of the Nintendo Switch 1 successor during And Nintendo work 🇯🇵🇯🇵🇯🇵🇯🇵🇯🇵🇯🇵🫡🤓

I left Xbox and Playstation a couple .months ago fpr the switch led amd I've never been happier and if they make the switch 2 powerful to make games like hogwarts legacy look beautiful I will stay with them for life.

I hope Nintendo starts trying to complete with Sony and Microsoft for a change, because I am done with both of them. Sony and Microsoft are both shady as hell. I am not even sure which one is worse at this point.

All depends on when Nintendo will announce or reveal the switch 2 this fiscal year. Will determine if the switch 2 will launch in March 2025 or not Sunbro.

I think Nintendo acquiring Shiver games was a smart and strategic move on their part. People like to complain about their ports that they did on switch but I think the Hogwarts Legacy port is impressive. Yes it has the mandatory compromises with it being on the switches hardware due to its limitations but They did a great job. All things considered now they’re Mortal Kombat. One port was abysmal but I think that given more time while it would’ve been nowhere near the home consoles in terms of visual quality it would’ve been a better than the state it actually launched in.

Im used to load screens so I think hogwarts runs just fine. And I friggen love that game. 100% would recommend

Games getting more complex and having longer development times? Nah. That's just the western AAA market bloating its development way too much for its own good. If anything, the fact that the Switch, a system that was underpowered compared to the competition even when it first released 7 years ago, can somewhat competently play such modern titles is more a testament to how Nintendo always had the right idea to not get overly bogged down in a graphical arms race. Though, that isn't to say I'm not happy for the Switch 2 potentially giving Nintendo a long-awaited boost in power.
