A mess of characters in these sets. Probably the best sculpts and coolest presentation of Mario figures so far. It's really expensive to complete these though.
Amazed how many of these individual figures i've found over the years and flea markets and garage sales. Never being able to find out where they came from and I labeled a lot of them as cheap knockoffs. Who would have guessed they're from their very first Choco Egg sets from 2009 (and that they made 3 sets that year instead of 1 set like every other year) You've solved one of my collection mysteries thank you!
Great video. You know I love these guys. ^_^ You actually have the secret figures from series 1 and 2 switched, though. I know it's weird since Luigi with his hat off was series 2, but Mario with his hat off was definitely the series 1 secret figure. And I'm positive that Fire Mario was series 2, because that's the only secret figure I was actually able to get, heh. ^_^;; But yeah, I definitely got him out of a case of series 2 figures.

@alisbakugan0726 Mario Kart 64 figures aren't from japan. They are from the USA but out of print. You won't find them in stores. While the Furuta figures are from Japan, they are also out of print. You can sometimes find the sets on ebay, but you can no longer get the first three in cases. The Mario Family figures were a Club Nintendo Japan platinum gift and were never in stores in the plastic. They were sold individually at the Nintendo World Store.
Well I specifically remembering having the Toadette. Her hair broke.. Lol. I got her as well in one of those sets when I was very young. I can’t find one anywhere now I want to replace mine!!!
@Kooptroopa They are discussed in the Mario section of my forums in the thread opening a choco egg. If you send me a pic (or attach one to the thread), I bet we could tell right away if they were fake. Paint problems are a big red flag though. The official sets have virtually zero paint problems. They never came in bags either, but the seller could have removed all packaging and sold them that way.
@jsd1000267 Some online stores still sell these, but they are blind packaged. They are very hard to find now, and I believe they were only available in Japan anyway.
@mariobrosman62 Hmm. $199 seems really steep for the first set, but it is really coveted and hard to find all together. It's up to you as it's your money, but some patience and searching might yield a cheaper set.
@Number177 You MAY have bought a fake set. This set was faked early on and that seems really low for a full set. There are various ways of telling if your set is official. Find out on my forums.
@nightram56 Could I have a link to where the bootlegs of these are discussed? I think I've bought a fake set and I need to be sure before I complain or demand a refund. My figures are decent quality but all have some odd paint splotches, some colours are slightly wrong (Wario's buttons are pink), among other minor problems. None of them have the capsules, but were sealed in individual bags.
Evan Glass TRU? I never saw these figures in the states at all. Are you sure this is the same set? They look similar to some of the Goldie/popco sets, but those are bigger. I don't think any of these left Japan.

Nope. The first time Fire Mario appeared as the extra he had no fireball. When Furuta re-released figures and combined them into a 1 + 2 set, Fire Mario with the Fireball was released as the chase. I have both versions.
@alisbakugan0726 I don't give stuff out for free. I get a lot of people asking me that on RU-vid and I just don't get it. They're each worth over $100, and you just want me to give it to you? Come on.
Auction sites are your best bet now. Make sure you're not getting fakes but reviewing the fakes info on my site and various threads about these figures. videogamemm dotcom
