Hearing that the switch is that old made me feel ancient.

The switch is only 7 years old, it was just "announced" 9 years ago. (Though only the code name and it's existence were announced).

Bear in mind the Switch 1 was revealed in the exact same way; no name, no features, just a random tweet.

They didn't reveal anything. All they said was that they are working on a successor. The only reason they said that is people thought they were going to announce it during the Nintendo direct that's coming out in June. All they did was clear that up

The Switch 2's reveal will come out During this fiscal Year. It won't be released. Please Take more Time to Do research Next time.

I searched the switch’s release and here’s what I got: March 2017 The Nintendo Switch did not arrive for two years after the March 2015 announcement mentioned in the statement from Shuntaro Furukawa. It was first released in March 2017, then followed by a “Lite” version in 2019 and a model with an OLED screen in 2021 Edit: Yes it was announced nine years ago but from a release standpoint, it’s 7 years old
