While it's pretty obvious that the regular switch is the better choice I remember seeing a friend of my friend come to his house with a switch light and I was absolutely surprised to see how small it was. Like the mere thought of playing a game as massive as Breath of the Wild or Mario odyssey on something so small just feels so cool, I knew it was smaller than the regular switch but seeing it in person just hits different.
that depends on what you want from it. Being able to switch between handheld and docked is great, the main strength of the normal switch over the lite. But for handheld the lite is much better. Lower weight is more comfortable, less wide can be more comfortable (maybe not true for guys with broad shoulders), no detachable joycons makes it feel much more sturdy. Im pretty sure both have the same resolution display. The lite having a smaller screen maybe is less impressive but it does mean its display looks more sharp. Having multiple color options is very nice too, rather than being stuck with basically just black woth being able to choose only the color for the joycons. imo the biggest downside of the lite is that no removable joycons means that having stick drift fixed requires sending in the whole thing to have it repaired. (and 2 minor things being that in breath of the wild u need an external controller to do the few motion control shrines, and in skyrim no rumble means no cheating at the lockpicking minigame)
You can travel with normal switch too. Also who doesn’t want detachable controllers so you can play with friends without them needing to also buy a switch lite.
And the buttons are softer buttons, so they’re not loud and clicky. Good for button mash type games lol. Or just in general, there are times where you don’t want to have a loud controller
You can get rumble on the Lite by pairing a Bluetooth controller like the ones you'd use on the OG model. (you need to be familiar with sync button location tho)
i upgraded because my old switch stopped charging for some reason, sold it to gamestop convientiently leaving that fact out also bigger stand and battery life (my old switch was before 2019 with the battery upgrade)
I have an OLED and while i love it lots, i still use the Lite as my primary console. Aside from a few differences, It functions just like a nornal switch. It feels more sturdy imo, and since its set as my primary console i can play any digital games i have without needing internet connection which is great cuz of how extra portable it is.
Nintendo does repair and every device is covered under a warranty from at least a year since you bought it. Still, it’s not really that expensive for repairs and you can kinda guilt them into doing the repair for free anyways by telling them you’ve been a loyal customer for a long time.
Well, here's something u should know. If the detachable joycons mess up, you can get them fixed or you can replace them. But the switch lite however, you cant replace them or get them fixed.
Well, one thing that I forgot to mention, is that the joycons on the switch lite feel much higher quality. The buttons feel much more crisp, and the triggers are amazing and so far there haven’t been any cases of drift on the switch lite.
FOREALLL me n my friend both have switches n then his lil brother wanted one so he could play wit us n he got the switch lite n let me play once n it felt so much better i like the way the buttons pressed instead of the loud clicky ones on normal switch.
@@yveltal1071 its called 4 juta in my country but its called Indonesia,i thought to myself "why does my country switch's are so expensive?"its pretty much like that, but the switch lite is 2000(2 juta)
I have them both, in my opinion, for travelling the lite is better as it’s lighter and easily portable. However for serious gameplay I recommend the regular switch. Hope this helped!!
I prefer the switch lite. I got it when I was 11, and I fell in love with it. It's more comfortable and great on long car journeys. The switch is also okay, but the switch lite hits different.
got the lite because i wanted something portal, light weight, and to help with de-stimulation so i knew putting it on the big screen was not something i needed to be satisfied in gameplay. so excited to start using!! 😍
as a person who doesn't oftenly play on tv I think the switch lite would be best Edit: my docs broken and won't let me play on tv so even more reasons tp prefer it
Yeah especially if you already have a home console (I use my wii, my brother uses his ps4.) Plus I'm really weak and I can't hold something too heavy so having something light would be good. Also I can always take it with me and it's cheaper. (Also no Joy-con drift, right?)
I like switch lite it's 100 dollar cheaper than switch and it fits in my hands perfectly, it can fit in your pocket perfect and you can play it take it everywhere you like.
@@skelyz True, some games I wish was put on the switch lite as well like the rest of the game consoles. I would like to get in touch with the game companies and give them some game ideas of what they should give us for the switch lite, but I'm not sure which game company to speak to. But I'm satisfied with the current games for the switch lite like Animal Crossing, Legos, Sonic, Mario, etc. I feel you though, I wish they could add more life simulator games like MySims, it's like another ACNH game, but mini sims. 😄
Honestly it all depends on how you wanna play. I have both and exactly what you said, that they both have advantages and disadvantages is exactly what I believe.
Things no one has ever said before : Man I love the switch lite, my life depends on it, and I'm so glad the screen is so small, it really grants the aspect!
@@phobosanomaly5383 do u have the oled? I traded in my normal “full size” one in for the Oled and it’s a significant upgrade. Better screen. Bigger screen. More battery life. Better stand. The stand on the old was was fucking trash.
The lite fixed the easily breakable fans, and the weird feeling of the controls seeming like they’re gonna bend inwards so if you don’t care about rumble, TV support, and detachable controllers (especially cuz you’re not gonna connect to TV), then go LITE
I started with the lite and wish I would have started with the regular switch. I sold my switch lite, waited six months and got the Mario day red version switch for $299 and it came with a free game. Gotta look for the bundles I would say to make it worth the price.
The switch lite is just right for me! I love the yellow colour , its small and easy to charge. I bring it everywhere with me… definitely recommend it to people who aren’t planning on playing off of a tv or playing with other people on the same device! 👍
I absolutely hate playing games on the TV and I'm not a fan of playing games with other people, so the switch lite is best for me. Plus, its smaller and easier for me to take with me everywhere I go
@@zacdoodle2926 is it possible that you could ask your parents for a regular switch cause both analog sticks can drift in their direction, if you get a normal switch and they start to drift you can get them fixed for free
OLED SUPREMACY The OLED do be pretty sick though. I am one of the few people who upgraded, and the screen is amazing, the stand works, etc. Only issue is that the joy-cons, unlike my one-in-a-million original switch joy-cons that never developed drift, make weird noises sometimes. They don’t have real drift, though, and I got the Hori Split Pads for handheld playing.
