Nintendo Treehouse: Live @ E3 2014 -- Day 1: Xenoblade Chronicles X 

After playing the Destiny beta on PS4 for 10 hours, I can happily confirm that this game looks every bit as good as Destiny graphically.

As a PC gamer the WII U is definetly the most appealing console right now to me.

No fall damage? Thats going to make shortcuts much more fun. Plus, being able to see the enemies level without targeting them is a great idea.

Am I the only one who's really liking the soundtrack. Like it sounds amazing.

I don't get what's so unsettling about the character models. I'm in love with them. Well, except for the Ethan guy. It's like he distrusts everything.

Did you know that one of the doll designers was also responsible for making the mech design in Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance?

26:00 Damn that's impressive. After playing through the first Xenoblade, I soon became a fan of the developers Monolith Soft. People need to forget about Final Fantasy right now and play both Xenoblades.

I am so hyped for this game you don't even know. Xenoblade Chronicles was the best JRPG of the previous generation IMO and this game looks better than it...plus the guy composing the soundtrack for this game composed the soundtracks for Attack on Titan and Kill la Kill (among others), which are amazing...and you get to pilot Mechs in this game...and you can run. Too much. I am glad that you can actually customize your character, that's pretty rare to see in JRPGs. I also hope that they've improved the AI because they were kinda dumb in the original game.

Humans travel to space in July? This sounds like a reference to Apollo 11 which means the last holiday they spent celebrating before Earth blows up was Independence Day, sad.

This game will be the game of the next year, I think.

This game looks beautiful, and super fun to play! The Wii U brought some interesting games to the table this E3!

I'm really going to miss having a main character. I really don't like the idea of having a voiceless protagonist in this game. Xenoblade's story wasn't the greatest thing ever but it wouldn't have been as good as it was without Shulk. A written character will always be better than a blank slate, especially one who doesn't even talk in cut-scenes. Seriously, it looks so awkward to someone who plays most other JRPGs. Idk, I still trust Monolith to still deliver but its still not what I would have done. Also the new composer Hiroyuki Sawano is good but i can't lie, I'm gonna miss Yoko Shimomura. That being said, it looks leaps and bounds better than Xenoblade as a game. Xenoblade is my favorite game of all time, but the new mechanics in X look very very promising. The new class system and weapon switching will really add alot to this game's combat system, which is already proven to be very good. I just wish I didn't have to wait until next year to play it >_>

Ugg I love this. Nintendo you will always be my favorite people in the whole world.

I was just playing Xenoblade, and after going back to this, I can definitely say that the graphics improved a lot.

People say thy don't like the graphics...are you guys crazy?? This looks AMAZING. I LOVE the character designs.. they look mature yet not too crazy. They look likable and I know for a fact im going to fall in love with this game and story just from watching this. The graphics will look even better on your HD TV screens. Nintendo always manage to pull that one off

This and Bayonetta 2 looks totally amazing. And all other games Nintendo shown this E3 ... Nintendoes won this E3 by far. All game day 1 for me.

Hopefully this comes out in early 2015, although IF it is delayed to late 2015, I'm fine with it if it means an even more polished game. I'm loving the music and the sheer quality of this game considering the massive scale and draw distance of the environments/world!!

It's gonna take me 2 years to beat this game. One for the game play. And one for the character customization.

The scale of this game is HUGE! A large hub world, plus the surrounding environment. Now, that's how you put hard work into your project.

I am so hyped for this game that I can't even see straight. I am going to buy a Wii U the day this game comes out (fact). Please take your time Monolith, if this game achieves a fraction of the glory that Xenoblade achieves this will be THE killer app for the Wii U. All aboard the (patient) hype-train Choo-Choo!

Ok seriously though, while the character models are hit or miss artistically, the environments are gorgeous and the scale in this world is insane. With environments that huge and that nice looking, it really does show that the WiiU has a lot more potential then people give it credit for. Start at 14:00 and watch 2 minutes of it.

I haven't owned another console since the PS3. I honestly just spend more time on PC games these days (not ragging on consoles, I love em too!) but I haven't seen anything on the PS4 or XboxOne that I really want. Im sure in about 2 years there will be a ton of sweet backlog and then maybe I will get one. But This is different. I've followed the Xeno- games from the very beginning, Tetsuya Takahashi is a genius. Getting a Wii U. End of story.

I won't watch a second more. I cannot wait to play this game firsthand. The story honestly sounds prequelish to the original Xenogears / Perfect Works story.

Can't wait for this game. I have full faith in Monolith Soft to offer an amazing RPG experience. Again. I mean look at this giant beautiful world, this is gloriousness right here. I don't think I know any other studio that creates universes quite like Monolith does.

I'll be watching this daily until the game comes out. I'm in love with it.

This looks absolutely amazing. One thing I have NEVER understood is ... why are random words in english!? I mean, my head explodes when this happens. A game completely in japanese then BAM english words here and there.

I can't wait to hear a clear version of that music which plays during the cutscene that shows off the world after entering that massive area XD

Man, This was shown 10 months before release and already looked great then. I find it interesting that Monoliftsoft managed to make this game look great o WiiU, with no major updates needed after launch, yet the Switch games have come out looking kinda ugly at first and needing later fixing (mostly in portable). I guess that portable aspect is something they must tackle during development.

I'm loving this game. It is beautiful and it's not even in its final visual form. I love the vast scope of the game. The heavy customization on the player, class, and abilities. I love the mix of weak and strong enemies right at the start. Never played the other XenoC game, but I remember seeing how it had a ridiculous amount of side quests. I don't know how much is done just in this one huge area, but I could spend dozens of hours just there. This will be my first JRPG in 8 years. Yeah, I am a "newb" to the genre, so I will take my sweet time soaking up everything I can.

after waching all the gameplay vids and listening to commentary and reading articles i really think this will be a 'prequel' of sorts...they said you will see familiar races and locations from all xeno games...CANT WAIT

It would be great if they did a bundle with Xenoblade Chronicles like Platinum is doing with Bayonetta. It's very expensive and hard to find and I would appreciate a re-release with better graphics.

2015, the year of the holy games... ...why can't you come sooner?

There's one thing I don't like about games with customizable names and voice acting. Nobody refers to you by name. "Are you okay?" "He doesn't seem to be in good shape." "Help me dude!" However, if there was some way for them to refer to you by some name, like, anything at all, that would make it so much better. Like a nickname. Or, better yet, if there was a set of predetermined names where if you chose one of them, the characters would refer to you by the one you chose (Hello, Ethan! | How are you, Jared? | Many thanks, Reyn!), or a more broad reference if you chose a custom name (Thanks dude!, How are you doing?). Also, the WORST POSSIBLE THING that could happen, is no voice acting for the main character, I hate mute protagonists. Oh my, thats a lot of words.

Buying Wii U for this, Bayonetta 2 and Nintendo goodies. Buying PS4 for Guilty Gear Xrd, Bloodbourne & Japanese third parties goodies. The NSA spying box can go die in fire for all I care.

Not sure about the customizable MC yet, but that world looks stunning and the combat system looks even better than Xenoblade Wii's.

Once this game releases and you still don't own a Wii U, you should consider about seeing a therapist ASAP.

The character models could have used a bit more of work, but the open world is what truly stands out in this game, It's AMAZING. I'm sold, buying it when it comes.

The graphics is as good as the movie Final Fantasy. It's like After Earth but with a vengence. Evil empire destroying planets is as old as Star Wars back in 1977. In the late 80's the Wing Commander series started and in WC III if you played badly enough the Kilrathi empire kill all humans on Earth. Half Life 2 and its expansion packs deals with survival against and alien horde and it has puzzles and plenty of weapons but not much in fighting styles. Halo series pretty much the same thing. Xenoblade Chronicles graphics looks like Halo 4 quality. I wonder what is the goal to finally defeat the aliens? The fighting sort of reminds me of Tera Online. I'll buy it.

I'm not sure how I feel about having rap in the main battle theme. But it could be good, I guess. I really want to hear these music tracks without the in-game sound effects and without the treehouse guys talking. The theme for the primordial wilderness sounds AMAZING. Less so during night-time from what I've heard, but the daytime version is so crazy epic and adventurous. *-* Can't wait for this soundtrack to be released.

EPIC looks amazing reminds me of zelda wii u both open world games with a somewhat similar style exept loz u is more impretionostic. it's basically a futuristic rpg zelda. this game is monster hunter meets titanfall meets zelda meets pokemon... and I love it!

Even if I wasn't a big Xenoblade fan I would still want this game just for the music. Hiroyuki Sawano composed the music, and he did Attack on Titan and a whole bunch of other shows with EPIC music scores. Hope they release this game with a soundtrack...
