You can tell with this and the Advance games that they definitely were designed for handhelds and short play sessions, 'cuz yeah, doing all this grinding is one session is absolutely mind numbing. But if some kid got this game back in like Christmas 1999 along with a GBC, at the age where they could be entertained just with one game, you just know they'd be having the time of their lives. Drawing copies of screenshots from the in-game egg finder and finding Yoshi's eggs that way, finding secrets for score, all that stuff. Seems like it'd be really fun, at least.

This game is a nightmare that we're all glad is over. Hot dang, the transition from this GBC wasteland to a beautiful first-party GBA game is gonna' feel good.

I love how Nintendo actually made an effort to fix their flawed scoring system, only to still mess it up, and then make it even worse in future games, then kinda fix it for Mario 3D World (10-1 is pretty fun for score imo), and then just abandon it entirely for Wonder.

Well, thanks to Simpleflips and Nathaniel suffering through this game, I decided to dig out my age old copy on my own GBC and see how far along I had gotten back in the day Immediately got hit in the face with younger me apparently having altered the opening screen to be Sunglasses Mario with the text "Suck mah balls", truly, 100% worth it.

I don't know where to write this, so I'm just gonna write it here. I had a dream that I was visiting SimpleFlips' family home and he was living/streaming there. But for some reason his family was Canadian. Then I was asked to give his grandmother a ride somewhere and I did but she thought she was being kidnapped and started beating me with her cane while I drove. Anyway, other wacky hijinks happened and I woke up before I got to see the "streaming room." What a crazy dream.
