This is what really kicked off my love for retro gaming. All my other friends had an xbox 360 or ps3, playing the latest COD or whatever. I was busy playing Sonic 3 and Paper Mario 64 with the 2000 wii shop points card my mom got for me when I had done all my chores and schoolwork for the week. Late saturday nights and pizza and mountain dew. I was living the moment🥲 But life goes on and so does our memories for what we cherished back then. Its hard to believe this will be 20 years old soon😢
I remember my brother and I had our dads credit card attached to this for payments and we were not to buy any games without asking permission first. One day while we were home alone we figured its okay, we will download just one game without permission. Who is it hurting right? This lead to a downward spiral of my brother and I racking up about 700 dollars worth of games on the Wii Shop Channel that afternoon. We became addicted to the thrill. Needless to say my dad was pissed.
I spent way too much time scrolling trying to find *one* damn NtBtS reference. I don't know who this Tommy is, but they've caused me unnecessary hardship today xD
In my imagination, four individuals from the 2000s are joyfully dancing with their Wii-motes and enthusiastically purchasing everything they come across in the Wii Shop, with the continuous clicking sound of their Wiimotes.
I really like listening to this song when I'm feeling depressed and empty. Im mostly dead inside but this brings out the inner child, makes me feel like a kid again.
1149 PM on my birthday, crying, realizing this easily was the best shop song of my entire youth. Now 41, sadden that Nintendo never made this type of music with their "Modern" console. I find myself coming back to this here and there, reliving the good days when devs cared about their player base. Do I feel old? Yes, definitely. Do I regret anything of it? Definitely not. Thank you for sharing my fond memories of my youth. Thank you dearly.
The Wii was so cool. It's menu, the "channels," the satisfying sound effects, the memories. Twilight Princess, Super Mario Galaxy, Brawl, and so many other iconic titles. I remember Nintendo Power hinting at the Wii, calling it the Revolution. Man, it certainly was.
F*** this really gives me nostalgia overload/depression for a simpler time. Playing wii sports resort and browsing the store for games. I miss those times 😔
Isn't anyone gonna talk about the fact that yesterday marks the 2nd anniversary of the Wii shop closing or is everyone gonna keep talking about TommyInnit?
I remember when I was at the elementary school, my dad for Christmas bought for me, my brother and my cousins the Wii with Wii sport and Wii sport resort along. We spent so much funny times playing Wii that we asked for the next Christmas to get some Wii points, so he did, and we had so much fun. Now my grandparents that I and my brother used to play with, passed away so I always remember the great moment we had.. Thanks for reading so far!
The Portland Retro Gaming Expo, whose main draw is visiting booths to buy older games, always has this tune in its music rotation. It hits. Every time. This is the definitive video game shopping music.
@TempuraStargazer well, not everyone was able to listen to this few years ago. Some people did not even know about Wii. Sorry for them, they are just happy that they are able to listen to music that they have recently discovered, well thanks to tommyinnit, many people now know about this really cool music. We should thank TommyInnit for bringing people here, now the Wii music has gotten more attention lately and has become a really good og music for some people. I do know the feeling that you are feeling, ik how it feels. We should just welcome them rather than hating and making them want to leave, i know you discovered wii like when you were in high school(based on your comment), but some people have just discovered this just recently, and we can't just hate on them because they are late to the party and just make references to TommyInnit.. i am quite stressed out with my activities, I hope you know what I mean and I hope you do understand, and sorry for them once again, good bye.
It feels like the Wii came out just a couple of years ago, I remember being so excited the night before getting it that I couldn't sleep, now its almost 20 years later, can't believe it
@@retro1946. lol yes it is, once dream goes out of relevancy tommy is going to go as well, he made his entire career piggybacking off of dream and the dream smp
Once when I was a kid, I was scared of this song starting out of nowhere after it connected to the internet, but after not listening it for 10 seconds, I would stop covering my ears, and start hearing this masterpiece while questioning myself "When will I ever get wii points".
ayooo sorry to bother you but I do believe that tommy is uncomfortable with people using his face as their pfp. I might be wrong, but I'm not sure. Just a heads up :)))
