Nio will be a global monster. This company is extremely misunderstood and undervalued. Battery swapping is here to stay and will go hand in hand with supercharging. Having the option to do both is a game changer. Battery swapping has many benefits that most people don't seem to understand. NIO vehicles will always have the latest and greatest battery technology available no matter how old your car. Any other brand you would have to purchase a new car to get the new battery tech. They also make extremely beautiful cars 😍
Nio in a nutshell: It's a global company; European design American brain China Body Vision: Shape a joyful lifestyle experience for users, and become a community in which a multitude of products service that vision. -CEO
A solution for a problem that doesn't exist anymore. I only use Superchargers for road trips and I haven't spent more than 20 minutes at a Supercharger. Barely enough time for a bathroom break, get a snack, and stretch a little. Seemed like 5 minutes. But for my daily drive, I charge in my garage. Superchargers are very cheap to install and there are 21,000 in the US and growing at 4000/yr.
No. Superchargers are expensive equipment to purchase and install. Getting them connected to the grid is also an issue. Combating demand charges also makes them expensive.
@@callistoscali4344 A Supercharger costs about $50,000 to install. Very cheap. And there are 351 charging stations with 2400 Superchargers that are permitting just in the US right now. That's not counting the Supercharging cites that are already under construction. Tesla's having no significant problems getting cites for their Supercharging stations. Stop spreading fake news.
@@callistoscali4344 From Electrek; ... "Back in 2016, when Tesla was still sharing its asset value of the Supercharger network, the automaker was talking about a value of $285,300 per station or $49,000 per charger" ,.... But whatever the price is, Tesla's having no significant problems throwing up Superchargers. They're everywhere, and growing. I've given you the numbers, like 21,000 SCs in the US. ..... ----> AND the Supercharger system has become profitable too!!!
I like the fact that you can swap the battery easily. That's as it should be. It's not a major drama to get a new battery for your phone, why should your car be any different.
That would mean a design standard for EVERY cars/trucks/buses etc. And the myriad styles and shapes of these vehicles. I seriously doubt the car companies would agree. Further, try finding a battery changer out the back of Woop Woop
@@RUHappyATM To some extent true. Actually the issue that's been highlighted about battery swapping is the integration of the BMS and the cooling system. That would require a uniform code for all vehicles using the particular swap, though I suppose this is no different to the analogy of finding the right battery for your phone. Still, a lot trickier for a car. That said, within one model it should be a lot LOT easier than it currently is - and a LOT cheaper - to swap your old battery for a new one. I'm thinking of the recent Hyundai story.
This is very interesting for NIO to do this as Tesla actually made a robotic machine to swap battery in their cars about 10 years ago but for some reason they did not pursue it, not sure why, possibly not economics for them or unable to manufacture all the extra batteries, I wonder if tesla made a mistake.
Nio first to deploy latest and greatest 650 mile semi solid state battery. 4 plus generation of lithium, thus cycles and life is not a concern as it's a swapped out business model. Newer tech batteries can be adopted transparently, thus future proof.
NIO Battery Swapp. No Battery Issues. NIO Battery Swapp for Energy Storage. NIO Battery Swapp Stations connected to Solarparks alongside the Highways. I wait for NIO SwapNGo Stations in the EU.
50k for a Chinese car swop to someone else’s battery cheaper than charging 15 minutes. ?after sitting in a car for six hours how important is swopping, imagine the infrastructure, battery houses like gas stations with batteries underground above ground by thousands with hundreds of batteries thousands of them . Doesn’t a cord on a post for 15 minutes seem like comon sense
love the words, lifestyle.. user.... just wait, you wont own your ev soon enough and you will be happy. EV's resale value craters over time, wonder what it will be like when you have to sell it. "Yes you are buying the car but not the battery and you will have to rent it." LOL
Most pollution happens in poor and developing countries where electricity is scarce and black outs are common. About 4 Billion people live in these countries. Electric cars will never be successful there as there is no continuous 24 hour electricity supply. That is why electric cars will fail as a whole. As a niche they will always have a place.
Huge difference. Mark is an entrepreneur.. He has vision.. Look what he's done with meta. This guy is a generic administrator. Today ev, tomorrow pharmacy.. Day after something else. No vision.. Just working out a good parachute for self.
A terrible idea? NIO has 2000 BATTERY SWAP stations in China and they are brilliant. People who live in high-rise condos never charge only swap. It also enables people to hire a larger battery for a road trip. NIO also has excellent charging infrastructure too that many other brand owners use.
changing battery is a great idea, as battery can die over months and years, if battery can be maintained then you will always have a good powers source without a need to charge it
@@Nick-P75 They did a detailed study on changing battery vs charging. They found that in places where plugging in to charge is not common, then swapping battery is viable. Many big cities in China have that problem.
