Your weapon guides are game porn. And a large part of what got me interested in the game. There really doesn't seem to BE a "Bad" weapon, which is NUTS given the range of tools here.
after 1 month of elden ring I can't bring myself to do anymore gameplay, nioh mechanic is just too addicting, elden ring combat is pretty much hit, dodge roll, then Repeat, while nioh is just chaosly fun, keep starting new playtrough and experimenting, played it since launch and yet I still felt unfulfilled, keep itching for more
Elden Ring combat is trash. Nioh 2 devs got their priorities straight, absolute perfect combat system, and then they add the rest. Not the other way around.
Samurai of class, glad to see you gathered at this dojo for some more culture enlightenment. A toast with the finest sake to our humble sensei, PooferLama Sama 🙏
I was one of the people that started out thinking the exact same. "Eh the sword is like the basic bitch weapon at the game, starter weapon isn't that great." yada yada yada. Then I started playing with it more, learned things, learned pre-shifting and watched your guides. Now the sword is probably my favorite weapon followed by the switchglaive and dual swords. It came to the point the sword became my go to weapon whenever I needed it when I couldn't beat a boss. This weapon is so amazingly fluid, fast and versatile it's insane.
It seemed impossible at first. Heck I could barley ki pulse. And I hated the ki pulse.. but now I'm annoyed more games don't have it. Feel like I'm wasting that skill that took me forever to learn.
I play sword only (high stance most of the time XD) in Nioh 2, currently at Dream of the Strong. However it feels like 80% of the stuff here is new to me~ Great content!
Everyone I do Iai QuickDraw or all moves with the same input I tend to always sheath my sword or it does nothing if I do them back to back. Also, my low attack spring is not as fast as you. Anh advice?
Is the timining for backwave really strict? I think I'm getting it but I just get a regular block. Nvm I'm just dumb, I thought backwave was universal.
This video made me reconsider putting sword of discernment into one of my slots. I used to use it a bit back in Nioh but I stuck with other moves such as Flowing Shadow and Backwave>Tempest since I found those most useful for me. For most part I’m comfortable with the katana, but I could always use a refresher or learn something new. Hence why videos like these are such a blessing to have around.
Thanks @Pooferllama! Btw these weapons guides are the best. Every time I want to try new weapons , I look over your vids. Right I am Odachi and in between dual or single sword. Thanks for making these guides. Also thanks for keeping Nioh 2 alive with streams and stuff. I am still learning and playing it 😊
@PooferLlama Hey, I love your vids they have been a lot of help. I was wondering what build do you personally run for a katana? Do you just focus on primary/secondary/tertiary scaling stats or do you run Dexterity and/or Magic with Change to Attack? I am gonna be making a sword character and I really wanna min/max every point, including the starting points.
@@PooferLlama I didn't see this video in your school playlist, sorry for asking about something that you have already addressed and thank you very much! Now to get back to studying your vids. :D
Sword and Spear gives you litteraly anything you need. Sword for dueling human opponents with perfect guard punish, kurama sword dance etc. Spear for Aerial and ranged pokes and overal crowd control or safe engagements
If you want to fight humans , Odachi is 10000 times better than sword you don't even need to do anything except spam moonlit snow redux or mid stance strong attack into high stance high attack double tap and into twin moon , Whoever gets hit by that will get their ki broken or either die instantly.
@@rdg665I prefer to combat with style. Nothing beats Backwave 2 with tempest and I would argue, with the right ki dmg build it hits even harder ki dmg than odachi against sir-block-a-lot. Against Yokai odachi boar is awesome for the same reason. And the spear, well, the low stance with monkey and such has hyperarmor afterward with the consecutive attacks, which comes in super handy against enemies who try to poke at your from different angles.
what's the input for the continuous running slash in low stance? I tried it but I always do the dodge slash. I tried holding x then pressing square for the running slash then x again for the dodge then hold x to run but when I press square, the dodge attack comes out.
this is so... all over the place an unfocused. yeah, just finished watching the entire 20 minutes. this could be cut down to 2 minutes at most... nearly completely useless and 0 practicality and actual relevant examples shown. horrible
It's ironic because you could break horns even easier with high stance fists, dodge attack is not that fast but has incredibly higher range. Sword is only good for one shot builds.
@@139-b7j ? If you wanna play Nioh like its a turn based RPG game then you can do so, but I like my gameplay to be fun. I've seen plenty of good sword gameplay just fine without one shot builds. One shot builds isn't really getting good at the game, though it is one way to complete the game. Videos like these are tailored more for people who want to use skill and have fun. All the things you can do in the game, I'm not going to resort to a Iai quickdraw build which would get boring fast. Best way to play the game is find your own playstyle, and get good at it. This is why Llama is so successful.
