Did you play nIoh 1, a lot of people are dissatisfied the didnt include double bosses. I really enjoyed Mezuki and Gozuki. Edit: Shit I disagree on 4/4 so far, Im not watching the rest, lets go for an objective list.
26:02 When you mention the tone for the mission Kasha appears in, think about what the yokai represents. A sadistic demonic cat on a flaming chariot that takes souls to hell, that is her core concept. In the mission, Honno-ji is completely aflame and Nobunaga is dead, a man who called himself “the Demon King” and used many brutal tactics. It seems kind of fitting that in this sea of fire, that the yokai to appear would be the one to claim the brutal “Demon King” and bring him back to hell. And I guess the music is supposed to more of represent her own sadistic cheerful nature and fast paced movement.
@@MildsandThatYac they could've just made them still do the moves but with lower damage. the boss friends in nioh 1 all have their full moveset and it doesn't really change anything since you fight like 3x the enemies on paired sequences anyways
Human bosses is basically you melt them or get melted . You really can't really trading blows since they are hit like a train with unlimited stamina and some with inhuman poise. That is way I don't really enjoy fighting them. The yokai bosses is very fun.
I really appreciate you re-doing your ranking for nioh 2, it's clear that you played the game more and now have a better understanding of it. All in all nice video and very good ranking :) Keep it up
She's difficult but not that For the story, i was being depressed while the first time i fought her, i wanted to die, i used everything against her, buff + anti debuff, ally, yokai mode several time, amrita eating hahaha for beating her
My experience with this game was weird. I struggled immensely with the snake boss, to the point where I thought about quitting the game all together. But when I finally beat it, and admittedly struggled a few rounds with the next boss, I breezed through the rest of the game, barely losing to any of the other bosses in the game. I don’t know if something clicked or I just got extremely lucky. But there were only 3 bosses that took me more than one try to beat.
That’s my experience with most souls like(?) games, I struggle really hard at the beginning, then there’s one major roadblock boss which essentially forces me to get better with the fundamentals, and then the rest of the game is noticeably easier (though still difficult lol) Edit: I’d also like to add that the major roadblock boss for me was also the snake cunt
This was the same story with my dad playing this game, he just farmed for 100 hours just to beat this boss. However, he was thinking of getting the game refunded because of the very first Enki 💀.
That was pretty much my experience with Nioh 1. First boss Onryoki was easy. A typical big monster souls borne like fight. Then Hino Enma showed up and she handed my my ass like... 30-50 times at least. When I finally beat her my hands were just shaking from rage and adrenaline. Then the next boss Nue made me re-do 10 times or so. Then the other bosses were not as bad. I still failed a few times here and there but nothing was as infuriating as Hino Enma. I think its just the shift in momentum from boss to boss. Both Onryoki and Mezuki are pretty typical souls borne like bosses. Hino Enma was different because she was damn fast and had legit mix ups to her offense plus a paralysis power which instantly kills you. Yatsu No Kami was different because of the poison puddle gimmick and because of the snake dark realm gimmick that could get you in trouble.
@@TheDocbach Funnily enough, having played Nioh 2 before Nioh 1 made Nioh 1 feel like a cake-walk. I could finish missions while being way lower in level than the game recommended me for missions, I would kill bosses in less than a minute each and in general it felt like such an easy game. However, that one damn mission where you have to charge into that war between your clan and the enemy one (I don't remember the name, it's in Japanese and I last played the game 7 months ago), I was raging so hard since I was supposed to run and never stop, I couldn't afford to fight, cause every single archer and cannon guy was aiming just at me for some weird reason. That mission was just hard because they tried too hard.
@@ender8166 I thought that mission was cool. I believe your talking about the battle of sekigahara. Otani was cool but Shima sucked. And gasha was alright
Shitaba’s theme is perfect. It’s literally the best theme from the original game meant to represent a tragic boss which he is. You’re putting him out of his misery and dishonor
I just wanna add that Onriyoki was also in the same mission you fight yoshitatsu where he is a bit strong since he is literally (the way i fought him) the second enemy so no yokai abilities no shift. He is actually quick there since the room is relatively small and his overall move set functions better. He is still squishy and predictable but breaking his ki is much harder without cheese or heavy weapons. So he would rank higher for me there. But overall great video
Lightning Gods of Yomi has special place in my heart. My friend who was attempting to beat this boss for 6h straight, destroyed his Consol and gamepad in rage. Said he won't be playing any more games ever. This boss killed gaming for him lol
Lol honestly fair response, though none of the bosses in this game was a massive struggle for me. The game just in general at times has fuelled a deep rage within me.
I recently found out a friend of mine was playing nioh, and saw him MELT bosses I had so much trouble with. It turns out, my build just sucked, I liked tanky armor with high defense, but it turns out dps-ing your way through the game is just so much more effective it makes the game so much easier.
Another detail about number 7, the location and element is similar to the Nioh 1 where it’s all ice and your fighting the ice lady (I have ptsd of that mission and boss) so I found it cool we face a female fire boss in a fire stage opposite yet similar to a female ice boss in a ice covered mission
The only bosses I really have a problem with are Lady Osakabe, Gozuki/ Mezuki duo, and Kamaitachi. The first 2, precisely for the reasons mentioned in your video, but also Kamaitachi. The fight is really just you chasing it all around the arena.
one thing nioh really wants you to learn is to use flux to restore stamina, using full ki pulses and flux properly and quickly essentially makes it so that you never run out of stamina while still being able to constantly dodge and attack even while in dark realm. I went from doing fights slowly with some pauses to I have yet to stop attacking and my health bar hates me because im not ki pulsing to flux low stance fast enough to dodge attacks.
I think it's exactly what they expect, that you will miss these stamina replenishing moves in the first playthrough and maybe even the second, where it's still perfectly possible without it feeling very punishing, since it feels much like any other souls game. But yeah, it's not very fast and later on you kinda die without them, so it teaches you to use them the hard way.
So glad you put tsuchigumo that low. It felt unfun cause i didnt feel like i stood a chance with the constant barrage of ki damage he was dishing out to me. Gave me no room to even attack i had to just spam spirit stones and yokai shift to win cause i was just fed up
In new game plus sometimes enemies will glow pink or purple. And i think the purple glowing Ninja Yoki (Dual Sword and Kusarigama wilding) is an entire challenge for itself.
Man, coming back to see the boses. I honestly played so much of Nioh 2 that I don't remember what my first encounter felt like because of how easy it is to stray with a broken build and just end up no braining most of it until you reach a point where those tactics no longer work as well with NG++++s and Underworld stuff
like he said, if you dont make use of all of the mechanics in the game, it will warp your view of the bossfights, the reason nightmare bringer is actually hard is because you cannot inflict confusion on him, you can only inflict purity or corruption on him, no confusion means the fight is infinitely harder than every other boss who can basically be instant killed by inflicting confusion, like otakemaru for example. no confusion means less anima gain, less damage, less ki damage, the boss will recover their ki, weaker grapples, basically you wanna use confusion if you can. nightmare bringer is not the only one tho, Yoshitsune also is immune to confusion, and Yorimitsu is immune to purity im pretty sure, which can counter your entire build as well if you wanna use izanagi for example. also i would mention that some bosses have pretty unfair 1 frame instant grab moves that basically one shot you in the depths, saito can do this, the bomb guy can do this, yorimitsu also has an attack like that, ofc it depends again, if you use an axe then it can sometimes be impossible to dodge these since your attacks are so slow, with other weapons you can get away in time just fine. its also not just grab moves, some bosses also have attacks that can be burst countered but are so insanely fast that you cant even react to that, especially not with brute spirits, again saito has a move like that, his dual sword whirlwind spin for example, he flashes red and instantly the damage is already happening, there is zero time to react and in the depths that move does about 3x 12k damage, i dont think its possible to survive that, which means i agree with his placement as one of the worst xD
Actually, Ancient Nyotengu is a character from the Ninja Gaiden games.. but she also makes appearances in the Dead or Alive games for... *Ahem* ...Obvious reasons. As for the human bosses, there is an imbalance but I think it comes down to the weapons. They have different combos and techniques that can trivialize a fight... like I went into some of the human fights using a katana and they were much harder. (I do also like them for lore value and plus I did play Samurai Warriors way before Nioh so that extra bit adds to the lore.)
Cuphead DLC release date got dropped, are you gonna play it when the time comes? I remember cuphead being how I found your channel and your tips in expert mode ranking vid were what got me though my S-rankings
that doesn't help players who like to play aggressively since it revolves more around you dodging till you close distance which isn't easy since he fly and spam his skills bring in skeleton soul core is a much better tip
I completely disagree on Azai being in "great" tier. I'm only in 5th location yet, but that bossfight is the worst I've encountered yet. It's not even hard, it's boring and forcing you into a blocking playstyle. I'm talking about his phase 1 and your total inability to hit him unless he does something first. You just stand around and wait for him to slowly walk towards you and attack or do a jump/dive move that's too hard to dodge (and I tried a LOT to do that, dodging that move is just way too inconsistent), so you have to resort to heavy armor and a high blocking weapon, so you do a single high stance strong attack that does the most Ki damage, because you dont have time to do anything else, since just a second later he brings his shield wing up again. And if you accidentally do one too many attacks you just get staggered and either take damage straight up (which I preferred to do), or you block and get your ki insanely depleted and take even more damae. The battle only actually starts being even remotely fun in Dark Realm, when he's not blocking constantly and you can actually play around his moves, but outside of Dark Realm this fight is very, VERY boring.
DUDE YOU STARTED 5YEARS AGO AND YOU ONLY HAVE 62,2K??????? UR VIDOES ARE THE BEST ILL SHARE UR RU-vid TO ALL MY FRIENDS but ummmmmm CONGRATS ON 62,2K!!!!!!!!!!
Pleasantly surprised to see Tate Eboshi there, not my personal favourite but I do love it. Also good to see Yomi, Kashin and Shibata high up, most of what I see people say about them is that they're annoying bosses. Was this playthrough on a new or an existing character ?
My top 10 in Nioh 2 is 1. Otakemaru(main) 2.Tate Eboshi 3. Shuten Doji(DITC) 4.Lady Raiko 5.Minamoto no Yoshitsune 6.Nightmare Bringer 7.Kashin Koji 8.Shibata Katsuie 9.Yomi 10.Otakemaru(TFS)
To be fair, do go back and finish the gauntlet and fight the proper William. A BITCH of a gauntlet to get to him but holy fuck is it him at his proper level and is a rewarding fight when you ACTUALLY beat him.
I think Gozuki and Mezuki are weak and simple enough that putting them together is the only way to make a challenge of them. Like Throne Watcher and Defender. I don't hate either.
Yep, except much better than the watcher & defender since you actually have the tools to properly fight two bosses at once, instead of very drawn out hit and run tactics.
Ryomen Sakuna reminds me of Flexile Sentry. Kasha has got chariot wheels. Kashin Koji is a sorcerer and he summons a clone of his exact form. Sounds like someone was a disgruntled customer. Nah, I'm just stretching it.
His opinion on the bosses ability to fuck you over sounds like he's basing them on a difficulty that isn't Wise/Nioh, in which case yeah, you'd sweep through a pretty good portion of them, especially with certain Grace sets.
Me: "come on, mezuki and gozuki weren't that bad, I did kinda enjoy it" Him: "it's bullshit and horseshit" Ah, I now understand why you HAD to rank them that low hehe, btw they're also in a main mission, golden castle, the one with Osakabe, it's either them or Yatsu no Kami Personally, I'd have split Otakemaru (main game) on 2 health bars or increased his HP, felt we fought each part for a too short time PS: 19:51 that's an interesting mezuki
i wouldnt say hes late game, he4 first appears in your twins fortress' basement. the variant your showing here appears late game though, the level getting up to him is a lot tougher lol. i always use him as a farm for amrita. use sloth, and water sword with the extraction talisman and knock his ki down so he drops more money and damn is he a goldmine.
Im A bit late but how was nightmare bringer too easy? I beat yorimitsu first try In both fights (and I didnt exactly even cheese her by abusing human boss weaknesses), I beat shibata on my second try, I beat eboshi within 5 tries and I beat dlc shuten doji within 5 tries too. Nightmare bringer on the other hand must have been nearly 20. I figured out In the end that sticking To his side can make dodging A ton of his Stuff really easy but even by sticking To him which could be argued is cheesing him he can catch you Off guard really easily and burst you down really Hard. He felt like the only true challenge In the game for me.
For me personally the problem is - every boss in this game is decent to great, at the first battle Then comes farming I want to collect all smithing texts and boss arts in the game and this has ruined some bosses for me Most notably ren hayabusa He couldve been a great kinda super boss, with his speed and unique atacks but if i have to kill him 100+ times cause he refuses to drop umbral bullet and falcon claw smithing text, well the most consistent strategy is cheese, highlithing his worst aspects namely his only real danger comes from his fist moveset because his ki is so bloated because hes a boss he can go 100% aggresive, wich means a swift death unless you can keep him on the defensive while his fists are out. If taken as a single boss fight to learn and overcome hes a 9/10, if you want to farm him hes a 3 And this does apply for a lot of bosses
Man there are some things about Nioh I love and some I hate but let me tell you as a dark souls lover and now playing elden ring the pacing of these fights are more my style. Fast etc. There are some combat things elden ring could use from nioh such as fatigue if you stam out. To make stamina actually have meaning. And blocking which instead of being bad for a main wep becomes more important to stop attack chains and counter play. I love the quick dash dodge way better than the rolling. I wish they added the dash with one button press and to mitigate dodge spam in Elden ring. They do the roll after 1 dash. So it goes dash and if you dodge again to soon you will roll... yes you get I frames but it's more an evasion rather than just a counter movement in a way. Idk wdyt
From what I understand, Nioh 2 has made human bosses significantly easier because they take far more Ki damage, am I wrong ? If not then that's a shame because I was hoping my success run with Imagawa was a fluke.
I despise Kashin Koji with every fiber of my being, though I guess that’s mostly due to my playstyle and poor RnG w/ the clones. My personal Top 10 though 1. Kasha (She’s the most fun for me, plus her Yokai shift carried me throughout the game) 2. Yoshitsune 3. Benkei (Side Mission) 4. Tate Eboshi 5. Yorimitsu 6. Otakemaru (Main) 7. Nagamasa 8. Yatsu no Kami 9. Shibata Katsuie 10. Nightmare Bringer
But there came a time when I learned all his moves and how to dodge them or counterattack him, thus making the taste of victory even better for knowing that I had overcome him
Snake boss near the start of this game is 100x harder than everything in elden ring, no question. I've 100% ER 3 times but this snake has killed me maybe 2500 times. Most annoying, terribly designed boss I've ever seen in any game in my life.
I hate most the human bosses. I hate how they get an instand stagger recovery mid combo and immediately counter attack with 0 reaction window and hyper armor... Not to mention the block simulator humans are anyways.
For the worst one nioh has rarely done gank fights 💀 someone did not play the depths in nioh 1 don’t do it it’s not fun they throw two bosses at you every time they feel like it
I’d like to play a souls like game but I don’t really like the art style for Nioh, the UI is awfully crowded and i’m sure they’re good games but I’d rather play a FS game
this ranking was meh, the fact u dont realize u can block to end pretty much any stunlock immediately made it invalid for me. As every boss is WAY easier when u know that.
