Amazing content man. I love the editing in time w/the music up front and the depth of information in the guide was super informative. Your character looks supremely badass too - nice refashioning.
I've been looking through your builds lately (and am running sort of a proto-variety of your Immortal Tonfa build using hatchets right now), and the one thing that stands out to me that I really like is that your builds are all set up with the assumption that the player actually enjoys...playing the game. So many builds that are indeed powerful focus on obliterating every target in one or two button presses, which is impressive, but it seems counterproductive to make a build with the purpose of, essentially, _not_ playing the game. I can see the attraction for farming builds (where the goal is to kill specific enemy X under specific limited circumstances as fast as possible to get the most opportunity for drops), but, well, I'm pushing 200 hours on my main character right now because...I really enjoy playing _Nioh 2_ and want to play more of it. Your builds seem designed to be powerful and effective, but also to have the player take an active part in using them to ruin enemies, not just "press X (or more accurately, R1+O) to end mission."
For sure. I hate builds that center around overly specific game plans. In my opinion, a build should be powerful enough to feel rewarding and fun, but it should also allow for some freedom of expression in the combat. PWAR does very good high damage builds, but they just dont allow for the kind of open ended combat that Xeno`s allows for. You have to always set the bosses up in 3 or 4 ways before everything is ready to destroy in one move. You have to apply a weakness talisman, put on carnage, put out a paralyisis mine, over apply back stab damage and Iai quick draw damage on all gear then put it all together. I dont like builds like that unless I am farming bosses.
Whats your thoughts on Raging Strike? I tested it with Leeching Talisman and 3 pieces with life on amrita and my health still tanked like crazy. Damage didnt seem too worth it. Also what about Atlas Bear? You get a +5 melee % and at half ki you get +20% and at low ki i believe it goes to the same as tengen at +28% so total of 33%. If im understanding correct that is
Great video. It's always nice to see variations in play style and technique. After Ki Pulse the dmg buff last roughly 5 sec. I noticed you preferred to use Imperative Strike (a singular quickdraw swing) as your immediate move out of Ki Pulse. If you have an alternative skill with multiple strikes, you do each of the strikes receive the attack buff as long as each of the multiple hits land before the buff's duration has run out? Thanks in advance.
As far as experience tells me, the buff from Ki Pulse (high stance) actually disappears after 1 hit. Which is another reason why I prioritize Imperative Strike or any move for any weapon that is a single burst of damage that transitions directly from a Ki Pulse. Far better synergy
This build looks awesome as well, what have you refashioned your armor/weapons to? I think i see the youngblood armor but idk what the gauntlets or the weapons are Edit: Thanks for the info on dual scaling as well, very helpful
Im a bit late to nioh 2 but what would a new game version of this look like balancing stamina looks like it wont be easy is there an armor set that is better for new game so i dont have to put all my points into stamina
Freakin amazing build and looks hella fun, im def making this when i get home. Looks like all i gotta farm is groundquake inherits. Question, do i need to have level 170 +(x) on my odachi or gear to make it this good? I mean, i know the damage will be better than a 160 odachi but im just curious by how much. thanks and awesome video!
No you don't need 170 gear. Obviously it makes a difference but I was using this same build with nothing upgraded or at 170 for a long time to decide on whether it was worth doing a video for. It wasn't until after that, that I decided to max everything out.
There's no way that Honda Clan bonus is working as intended. I'm tempted just to switch and use it while it lasts. It was at max 55% to halve damage unscathed and 10% Active Skill damage in Nioh 1. If I had to guess, they wanted to change the scaling on the Halve Damage part, because it was lackluster, but it messed up the scaling on the other part too.
Great build, I really like the fact that the weapon swapping ability is being used so much as currently I think its a very underused ability. I'm currently running a Switch glaive/Tonfas build, and I use this skill very frequently. That being said, I would very much like to see your take on a SG build with more emphasis on the weapon usage vs magic. Anyway, I enjoy your videos, and your builds are solid/fun.
@@digglebick, I disagree though not entirely. Xenoswarm has included the weapon swapping skill into this build and it appears plenty strong imho. However, I will concede that playstyle, and perception differ from player to player. Personally I don't find it fun to one/two shot everything yet others do.
@@leslierobinson8724 thats your prerogative then. The build he shows here is neither overpowered nor underpowered, its just one that makes use of many things but doesnt excel at anything
You take your two strongest modifiers and attach them to your two strongest skills. Damage Boost Stamina and Damage Boost Strength, and attach them to Imperative Strike and Groundquake. I mentioned in the skill tree segment to pick these up
170 stuff is super rare. I've been farming non stop at end-game NG+ with Level Sync and high luck. Only ever seen 1 armor piece that divine 170 drop for me. The weapon is a little easier because you have a chance to get a 170 soul core drop, then you can soulmatch it with a corrupted weapon (corrupted weapons can soul match with soul cores). Then you can soulmatch this corrupted weapon with whatever weapon you want to get a 170 weapon of your choice. Edit: Not sure about the spear build, working on a couple of things first but I might move it ahead.
Just modify the shaman build from this channel and instead of opting for onmyo damage, go for effects that improve ki and hatchet damage. Go for active skill damage / ki consumption and if you don’t want to use onmyo at all then use the oni shibata set mixed with another of your preference. Make sure to use the correct skill buffs on advancing storm for max damage and probably a barrier talisman to easily manage ki. Still probably want to use a phantom spirit to get the ranged anima bonus and then use cores that buff active skill damage.
@@WillYazdani theres actually a lot of nuances for Hatchets (I'm not even aware of all of em). Such as, Melee v. Poison doesn't buff throws. Also Ranged bonuses dont get proc'd iirc
The Gaming Seshion oh I know. The range bonuses do get proc’d from my experience. Also buffs aren’t applied to throws which kinda stinks. I’ve been using the hatchet shaman build for that last week and it’s amazing, but I also want to try to focus on the hatchets more than the magic and yokai abilities just because it’s more fun
What i like about his videos are they not intensely broken or over powered that you can one/two shot anybody. But i still see room for improvement and thats where these become super interesting xD
Phantom isn't my favourite but after using it so much I've got the timing down. The reason everyone uses Tengen all the time is because, unfortunately, it's just hands-down the strongest spirit guardian across the board. The damage boost it gives you in high stance is one of the biggest damage buffs you can get, and it stacks with any other damage buff you apply. Believe me, I prefer using other Spirit Guardians, but when it comes to optimizing certain builds, you're just not as strong if you take anything else (when it comes to damage).
Yeah you can pretty much steam roll all content / easy mode with heavy Armor, I really feel as if medium should be the heavy Armor. It’s like they make a second game and never learn? That being said the axe flash attack is not reliable. I mean, it works but any flash attack transitions to the axe literarily takes 40 years to swing that axe around. Looks cool but it has no super armor, so half the time you get stuffed trying to pull it off lol.
A whole lot of wasted time and low damage output. Should just be one shotting everything with moonlit snow. Rage buff and tengen high stance, and dmg% on poisoned enemy, should be hitting 10-15k per swipe
