@@namekiangod7750 Yeah, he had both Hyobishin(the black panther) and Tengen Kujaku in Nioh 2, both of which were rather appropriate for him. The only issue I had with that game was that we got to spirits in the wrong order, in my opinion. We should have gotten Hyobishin first, and then Tengen Kujaku.
1 Oda is just about the only warlord during the time period that actually likes foreigners. He is the only one that allowed Christian(Spanish priest) priest to preach their belief. 2 Oda does not start war for the sake of war. He believes that the flames of war can only subdued by an overwhelming show of force since people usually won't listen otherwise. 3 If not for Oda japan would not be unified under Shogun Tokugawa. Which is an underling of Oda mind you. (fun fact: Oda favorite saying is life is a mere fifty years. This is to inspire people to do as much as they can before they die. And as fate would have it. Oda died at the age of 49.)
Date Masamune also allowed priests to preach as well you know. Actually there were a few lords that did because it also brought in trade, European technology and wealth.
I read somewhere about Masamune that he ask the foreigners for help to cure one of his wives from illness. They cured her and he turned into a christian/supported foregin trade and culture.
Though Masamune himself was never Christian but he was fairly open to their ways and culture. Several of his retainers were christian and possibly his eldest daughter as well. But when Tokugawa banned Christianity it Masamune had to also have the practice stopped as well.
Yea i don't blame Tokugawa though. He wanted to keep his culture as a whole and not mix like the united states to where eventually the culture itself will disappear. Family spreads out and the culture eventually dies out little by little until there is none.
Man I love how they portrayed Oda in this game truth to be told I though they were gonna make him look like a chump by making him get his ass kicked, instead he doesnt take shit from anyone and just leaves after beating you
I like it how this game doesnt do the whole "you win but you dont" that most boss fights seem to do now adays when they want the enemy to win. Instead it just ends the boss battle half way through the fight lol
To be fair making William fight and almost beat those legendary historical figures is super disrespectful. What was Team Ninja thinking? IRL Williams was nothing compared to those true legends.
@@zeroskaterz92If this was a westeen game, certainly would be backlash since the é white savior character are beating everybody when in reality he didn't even fought no one
Nioh Villain: *Revives Nobunaga* Haha yes, I have revived a tyrannic warlord, now there will be war!!! Nobunaga: Nah Nioh 2 Villain: *Revives Hideyoshi* Haha yes, I have revived a tyrannic warlord, now there will be war!!! Tokichiro: Nah
Koei has had him and Cao Cao both as heroes and villains in certain games. It's really dependant on the writer. Kessen III had arguably one of the more heroic presentations of Oda Nobunaga.
@@Outsider-66666 no, it was not even a village but a buddist monastery that practiced military like warlords and abusing power like noblemen... futhermore, this heiei monastery also kept woman in their complex, Nobunaga saw this as a threat against his power and also it was a big no no to the Buddhist ways for monks to act like that.
And then the deep history gun nerds like myself who have learned of the Battle of Nagashino, which involved the greatest simultaneous deployment of muskets in history, the first time that multi-line succession fire tactics were executed, and the whole plan devised by...wait for it... Oda Nobunaga
Well Nobunaga and Ieyasu are more famous in Japan compared to how Hideyoshi isn't really famous considering he wasn't great regardless what ppl think of him tbh. Probably when he decided to attack Korea was a no brainer cuz his army was at peace and well he lost. I only like Nobunaga and ieyasu deep down but hideyoshi not really tbh
@@johnnymoreno5065 i like the way the 3 great unifiers got their own unique way to reach the top. Three of them started from humble beginning, but walked a rough path until reach what others could not.
@@sumiremenata3293 keep in mind if you played the second game hideyoshi is technically two people Your player character is hide And the monkey makes up the other half of that name So technically we served and fought under Oda
damn i love nobunaga's design. His breasplate looks like a western knight armor, and so is his sword which has a more european crossguard but with a katana blade, looking more like a weird sabre. Nobunaga was quite interested in foreign culture and it shows in his design. Would be nice if he uses a gun too like Saika since he was one of the first dude who invents gunnery tactics in Japan (i think it was battle of Nagashino?) In my headcanon his reason for fighting William is simply "wow another western samurai like my Yasuke? Let's see how good this one is"
In regards to his armor, the description does say it was European armor brought to Japan then refashioned. So that would definitely be the case for it.
I loved how, in Nioh 2, Nobunaga was not in the intermission, showing that what he said in both games was true; "He may die before fulfilling my ambitions, but he will have no regrets." And it was true. He was about to take Japan, he was betrayed by his own, but he left without any resentment. And at the end "I'll let the monkey and the raccoon continue the play", will it also be a nod to Hide?
Fun Fact: Nobunaga Oda is voiced by legendary Yoichi Erikawa a.k.a Kou Shibusawa, the man who co-founded Koei, the President & CEO of Koei Tecmo and the creator of the Nobunaga's Ambition (1985-present) and the Romance of the Three Kingdoms (1985-present) Game Series.
Love how the story seemingly set up the plot as if it was heading into the predictable route of making Nobunaga a villain, only to subvert that Kelley didn't consider the possibility that Nobunaga might have actually liked being in the afterlife
@@shinrok He is talking about Pokemon Conquest, a crossover game between Pokemon and the strategy game Nobunaga's Ambition. A pretty unique spinoff as far as Pokemon games go, being a strategy game with RPG elements, oh, and Nobunaga of course.
It is well recognized that one Nobunaga's favorite poems was the noh play of Atsumori, he is even believed to have recited certain lines of it to his men before battle the line goes "a man lives under heaven but 50 years, compete this to the (after life).. life is but a dream an illusion" ... I think that we get alot of insight into the type of man that nobunaga was from these verses.. seeing devs of this game make nod to these small details of a famous historical character is truly great.
Salem Andrada late comment, but heres a strategy to use against them. Spam sloth on oda, take out ice queen, hit and run on oda, and finally, the most important part of the plan, pray. No seriously, pray!
This fight wasn’t too bad, but the one w four waves of revenant AND THEN Nobunaga + Obsidian Samurai was sheer madness - tougher than Ludwig the Accursed
@@thebeggar1721 Tengen Kujaku. It's primary power is to cycle the elements of it's living weapon form, allowing it's master to defeat any foe with an elemental weakness.
Zael Heimricht it’s probably just me, but I always refashion my armor to look like Youngblood’s armor just for canon purposes. So I don’t change until end of every mission 😂😅
@@albertbecerra One could say he got carried away with the women and children(there is even a legend where Nobunaga personally asked Mitsuhide to kill him if he became too ruthless, with that event being the trigger for Mitsuhide's betrayal), though the fire was more of his way of not having to deal with another 11-year siege like he did with Hongan-ji.
@@thehighwayman3122 Had Nobunaga killed Kelly it would be taking away William's chance of revenge wouldn't it? Plus William stood pretty well againsy nobunaga so I'm pretty sure he knew he was one badass warrior.
I have never played Nioh, but after watching this fight, I have to say: it would be perfect if Nobunaga had this stage on flames while your character had his health drained over time.
Late reply, but a flame scenery wouldn't suit the nature of this fight. It's not supposed to be an epic climatic final battle, just Nobunaga enjoying his last fleeting moments back in the living world. It reflects the elegance of his style and mindset.
@@matheuscruz8574 Pretty sure Vanacutt meant it'd be poetically fitting considering how Nobunaga died IRL. Akechi Mitsuhide betrayed him so rather than be captured he committed seppuku and ordered Mori Ranmaru to burn Honnoji temple down so nobody could have the satisfaction of his head.
I now want a side-by-side comparison of Emperor Valkorion from Star Wars KotET trying to cling to life and power with Oda Nobunaga peacing out like a badass!
Honestly I think it works out like this, they hyped him up so much as this horrific person who's revival would spell disaster not only for Japan, but possibly the whole world, and when Kelley succeeds, he actually doesn't care, Nobunaga may have been a highly feared warlord and wore the moniker of "Demon Lord of the 6th Heaven", but at the end of the day he accepted his fate, and lived his life without regrets, he has no quarrel with William, and owes no loyalty to Kelley
0:08 *SENGOKU BASARA NOBUNAGA THEME INTENSIFIES* Admit it; the vast majority of you turned off the game music and put the theme of the Sixth Devil King on in the background...
I like that his armor is sort of a mix between traditional Samurai style, but also like a European Knight. Makes sense considering Oda's fascination with the Western World, while also showing that he wasn't beholden to tradition.
It was said that he did wear that style of armour as there are statues in Japan depicting him wearing said armour. It’s called Nanban-Gusoku. It’s Samurai armour based off the design of European armour.
It is had to compare Oda, Toyotomi and Tokugawa, they all had their bad and good deeds, for that age it was actually right, but we cannot tell with today's mind
Well there were stories of a Spanish priest that came to Oda with gifts to allow him to preach. Oda took a liking to a hat with a giant peacock feather and allowed it. or so they say. but yes. In actual history and the koei games oda and cao cao are very similar.
guys can somebody help me out. went to complete this final fight and when the cut scene came up the game crashed and bugged out....now it won't allow me to enter the room to fight him again and tried re setting my spirit load out etc
