Thank you so much for this video! I was gifted a cutting a few months ago and noticed that it is in the beginning stages of developing the little flowers between the petals. It is the only one I have and was already thinking I was going to lose it to the death bloom. Now I know I can cut the bloom off and save my only aeonium ❤️

@@PinayMamaBear yes I'm sure! A lot of my vids have to be completely planned out in advanced and I forget! 😅 Which is what makes your video so special. The time it takes to get actual results footage, months put into 10 min video! Amazing 👏👏👏

I will have another video to update. But i experimented with this aeonium arboreum with multiple branches. Result will be different for solitary Aeoniums.

You are AMAZING! This is just what I was looking for . I strongly suspected that cutting the death bloom before flowering would make them pup . I just tried this on 2 gorgeous red sempervivums that were about to bloom . Don’t know their specific name . But they’ve got a Heuffelii look to them . I’m hoping for the results you got . Mine are crowded. Maybe that’s why they flowered. Don’t know their age . Should I repot into a bigger pot to encourage growth ? Thank you so much 😊

Hi Jennifer. Thanks for visiting my channel. I try to experiment with my plants to get results first hand and share the info. I haven’t experimented with sempervivum yet. I personally like the “spilling over” look with sempervivum so I tend to let them outgrow their containers.

@@PinayMamaBear , I’ve considered it . I’ve been told I should actually. I’m a tad shy because of my extreme southern accent 🤣. And shy of the camera for sure . But what that heck ? Why not ? I won’t have to show my face . I freeze up when I have made short videos for friends and can’t seem to get my words out . 🤣I’m gonna get organized over the next couple of months and maybe start one

Great experiment! why the parent didn't die if the flowers are called "DEATH bloom"? also, how old is your Aeonium? And they only bloom once, right? just wondering how old they start to produce death bloom.
@PinayMamaBear
@PinayMamaBear 2 года назад
Hello. Some types of Aeoniums will die after blooming but this type (arboreum) only the branch where the bloom sprouted will dry out and die. My aeonium is over 10 yrs old. It had bloomed many times. Usually, most aeoniums will bloom at 2 yrs old (approx). Thanks for watching.

@@PinayMamaBear oh i see. Not all Aeoniums have death blooms. I think yours dont make death blooms. Death bloom only happen once in their lifetime

Question: one of my Aeoniums is blooming now, during our summer. (Technically a few days until summer). If I cut the bloom will it still grow back in the dormant season?
@PinayMamaBear
@PinayMamaBear Месяц назад
During summer which is dormant season for aeoniums, they will stop growing but will resume when the temperature cools down (fall)
