I wanted to offer my perspective on the debate on who's more impactful/ who's greater. Tupac was evolutionary, but Nipsy was a revolutionary.
They both were literate which informed their greatness. Tupac came of age performing with Digital Underground, he becomes a star, gets arrested reads some books and comes out a politically philosophical entertainer.
History is my favorite subject, so I happened to have read some of the books he did before he went to jail, so I knew the source of his alias Makaveli and his Illuminati metaphors when he came out with the "The Don Killuminati: The 7 Day Theory". The masses never knew because they didn't read his source material and misconstrued a lot of his Illuminati metaphors.
I read the books and I would understand no one reading them unless they were locked up and bored. LOl, however, because his evolution coincided with a close association with real gangbangers, he didn't live up to his potential.
Nipsey was a Revolutionary because his coming of age was as a do or die gangbanger, he wasn't a big star when he went to Africa, he was a do or die gangbanger who was inspired by his visit to the motherland to become a totally new human being.
He comes back a new person with a new dedicated sense of purpose and walks it as he talks it and he'll go down in history as living up to his potential and then some. He's left a template that many more will follow. By definition: rev·o·lu·tion·ar·y
