Nique Tan Chats - Odyssey by Lewis Le Val and Peter Turner 

Vin - exactly how I feel. Peter Turner has those who sing his praises but to me his productions have sometimes been over-promoted but ultimately under-whelming. I accept that it might just be that I’m too stupid to recognize his genius and or appreciate his frequent reminders about how “bold” he is --- and I’m glad others find his effects of value. However, I too prefer a more structured (and more succinct) approach to teaching and learning. Listening to someone, or a bunch of someones, sitting around riffing about whatever pops into their heads, quickly makes me want to stick a fork in my eardrums. Mr. Turner, in particular, seems like the kind of guy who, as the old line goes, will answer the question: “What time is it?” by telling you how the clock works. Again: I accept that this bias is highly personal and I probably am closing myself off to real gems of wisdom. Lewis Le Val, on the other hand, has been a consistently effective teacher and I’ve gained significant value from his presentations. He is very to-the-point but also comprehensive in discussing both method and presentation style. I have seldom passed on an effect in which he is involved and am very appreciative of his insights and contributions. (Happy New Years, Nique --- thanks as always for sharing your thoughts with us.)
