As a kid I idolized Kurt. Then he died when I was 9 years old, and he was forever 27. Now I’m 38 and I realize he was just a young man with his whole life ahead of him. It wasn’t too late. It could have gotten better. He needed help. I wish I could’ve been there as friend.

heroin is hell of a drug, it wasnt just the drugs that killed kurt! kurt was rebellious, he liked to do what he wanted to do but the bigger they got the machine wanted to control kurt hence the reason he turned to more drugs to cope with everything... 93-94 nirvana was spiraling out of control everyone knew it even the band mates, by then it was to late kurt had to many demons

Whoa, weird! I thought I was the only little weirdo kid who listened to Nirvana. I’m a year older than you so I had listened to them for about a year and a few months before his suicide, when I was 10. No one else I knew but me and my friend listened to Nirvana in third grade, lol. Her dad was going to take us to a show (she got to go!) 😭 but my mom wouldn’t let me. To be fair, I was 9, and my friend’s dad was 100% a heroin junkie. But honestly, I was way too young to understand. I just thought he was a nice guy who worked too hard or something or maybe had narcolepsy because he’d fall asleep all the time, in the middle of conversations and shit. I still blame my mom to this day though for missing out on the experience, lmao.

I still remember the day back in 1998 when I found their music. A few months later I found out from an older girl at a work experience job that Kurt had died a few years before, I was absolutely gutted! I've never stopped loving Nirvana and Kurt Cobain! I would agree but would say it a little differently. I am saddened by the tragedy of his life however. I think he needed perhaps somewhat of a different path in life that would still allow him to fully express his extremely profound gift of artistry that kept his life in a positive direction. I say this as one that is old enough to be his father now and as a christian.

This is the first song I ever remember hearing in my life. It was 1993, I was 3 years old. My uncle had been asked to watch me for the day, so I was in the office with him and heard this come on the radio. It caught my ear immediately, but I didn't think to ask about it. I just listened. Nope. Thats where you are wrong! See. Lithium is a natural drug. And people with bipolar disorder is missing lithium in their bodies. It does not give a buzz therefore it cannot be used to avoid drugs. it does not take away deppression in any way. it does not take away any kind of addiction. on the other hand there are a few drug detoxes named "subutex" and "methadone" And another drug detox named "Buprenorphine" And lithium HAS NOT AND NEVER WILL be used as a drug detox.
