Kurt has a helluva of a Ric Ocasek impression. Love how his voice turns from Ric to Kurt from the verse to the chorus. Great blend of two very unique sounding bands/voices. Great choice of cover, nods to their clear power pop influence while somewhat subverting it in a totally punk ass way. Fucking awesome.

Nirvana opening their last ever concert with a Cars tune is SUCH a nirvana thing to do. Kurt is the best !

Fun fact: Kurt's t-shirt is the same Krist was wearing in the '91 Jonathan Ross show appearance.

This is just so great. Kurt had said in late 93 and early 94 that he saw Nirvana as a new wave band, and here's the group making good on that.

Oddly enough, Nirvana covering this song is how I knew the song Moving In Stereo because I hadn't gone too much into The Cars' music and had only heard the handful of songs that are always on the radio. It's now one of my favorites by them.

20 years since his death today...R.I.P. Kurt Cobain! Thank you for your music. Because of you I learned to play guitar. You have influenced so many people, your music will live on forever!!!

I've known about this performance for decades thru bootleg tapes, but never saw the video until now. A real gem. Glad that I stumbled upon it. I'm a fan since at least 1992, so any new (to me) Nirvana video is a real find. Thanks much for posting.

would love to hear a studio version by nirvana. Nirvana always seemed to be able to handle cover songs while adding their own flavor to it, not many artists can make a good cover.

I love when Kurt says "She's my best friend's girl", both Dave AND Krist are doing the backing vocals. It's like a full triangle between the three of them. And then Pat is just playing his guitar trying to get over his bronchitis.

This is such a great performance and, a lovely deepcut for Nirvana fans.

Cobain did a great job of imitating the vocals of Ric Ocasek,I think had he not taken his life he would have greatly diversified his songwriting,vocal,and guitar styles-we'll never know...

Everytime I see Kurt, and Layne I see my brother. He was a heroin addict, everytime I see them in videos I can see that emptiness in their eyes, the same I used to see in my brothers. RIP Claudino, RIP Kurt, RIP Layne. :(

Being at this show would be so awesome. It was pre-internet, so you would have no idea what set they were about to play, and a Cars cover would be the last thing I'd expect them to open with.

Man Kurt seemed happy. Nirvana as dysfunctional as it was then was also probably the best it ever was. Kris and Dave put in 3 years of work and finally emerged as song writers on Kurt’s level and stepped up in terms in music direction for the band. Kris being able to sing and play and Dave being able to sing lead really opened the future possibilities for them. Pat smear actually knowing how to play guitar and could figure out how to play cover song’s correctly was huge. His Gibson tones and Kurt’s fender sound made them sound huge. Kurt did it. He made the Beatles

I was dancing at a club in Germany to " Come as you are", we even made a circle holding hands in a trance. It was spontaneous, after a few more songs the DJ announced Kurt has died, apparently from suicide. Talk about a buzz killer.. I will never forget that dance, it's not like you dance in a circle every day, The first time actually. The Cars were in my car too, in CD form at this time.

Good to see Nirvana step out of their comfort zone with this one. One of their more technically demanding performances, no doubt.

I'm a huge Nirvana fan but I've never seen this live performance before, I'd heard it on a bootleg I bought many years ago.

I really love the fact that Krist has his bass at the same height as other have their guitars. But he is so tall that he could play it with his toe.

I have loved nirvana since day one and have always loved the cars as well and knew how influenced kurt was by them, and I just realized after watching the 2018 rock and roll hall of fame, how much kurt looked like Ben Orr! Am i the only one who sees this? Both left handed bass/ guitar legends! RIP!
