They are not Dave's harmonies! Kurt is doing both lead vocals and harmonies. This recording is from 1990 before even Dave was in the band.

Dave only harmonized kurts vocals live. In the studio, Kurt double tracked his vocals.

Okay, I've seen a lot of arguing here so I did some (minimal) research. According to Wikipedia, the version that ended up on Nevermind had Kurt doing lead and backup vocals with Krist playing the bass and Chad Channing on drums. Live versions that were recorded after Dave joined the band have him listed as backing vocals. I didn't see any reference to Krist recording the vocals on any released version of this song.

@@sleepwalk8696 ye it was apart of the song...but it was an accident..in this take he started to early and they left it....he was HEAVILY influenced by the beatles that's one of the reasons he left everything in even the accidents...because lennon and harrison loved to keep the "imperfections" in their music for "some texture"
