That bootleg I remember so much.... Damn that's an amazing one !! :D That version of scoff could be the best .... But then there is also Duffy's tavern for the drums sound.... But they really were on fire ! I think people don't tribut enough Chad for making so much effort to get stronger drum in such a short time ahah Its even hard to tell it's still him in those last 6 month tour

Part of me wishes that guy would shut up singing near the mic during Blew... but then again he was already a big enough fan to know the words before they were huge so props for that.

I was 20 and I was at that show. I was at college, and that night my friend Stu from down the dorm-room hall knocked on my door and said "let's get out of here and hit up this club in L.A. tonight and check out this band I've been hearing about". I said what the hell. When we got there, I remember having to drag my friend out of there, thinking how bad they were. And you know what? I still stand by that opinion of them, at least as they existed back then, today. Listen to it: not a whole lot of true talent happening there. Each song has, like, a maximum of three chords each. Not rocket science, people. But in today's world, that's what our youth has devolved to finding satisfying enough, I guess. Guess I never had that much raw anger dwelling inside me, enough to "relate" to this utter rubbish. Poor kids who dug this; they probably don't even KNOW that they DON'T KNOW. lol. F 'em.

I think that some people just have a personal opinion that technical proficiency and instrumental virtuosity are necessary ingredients for “good” music. Like a particular piece of music needs to be sufficiently cerebral or difficult to play in order for it to earn the listener’s validation and respect, or something to that effect. I’ve personally never felt that way. Guitarists all over the world fawn over Paul Gilbert’s pinky-destroying arpeggios, or Eric Johnson’s crystal clear legato technique, or Michael Angelo Batio’s lightning fast sweeps, etcetera. Personally, I can respect that level of mastery in any field. It takes a lot of time and dedication and learning to develop and perfect those skills. But I still find a lot of that music just utterly fucking boring and not at all enjoyable or interesting, so to me it isn’t “good” music. It’s more like a series of auditory engineering accomplishments than a collection of emotionally engaging songs, to my ears. And, for all of the dismissive whining that I’ve heard over the years about Kurt Cobain being a massively over-rated, shitty musician, I’ve never come across anyone who can convincingly duplicate Kurt’s results. His guitar riffs are generally easy enough to learn, sure, although a lot of people still manage to screw them up, but his vocals are not so easy to replicate. And, if you’re distracted by the rasp in his voice or the feedback from his slightly out of tune guitar, you might miss the finer points of the melodies that he concocted, which glue those otherwise “basic” power chords together in surprisingly unique and creative ways, and which he rarely gets credit for. But hey, whatever floats your boat, man. “Good” and “bad” are inherently subjective concepts.

@@TestMeatDollSteak Well spoken TMDS. I agree. Perhaps I overstated how I think simple music is simply bad. Because I've always loved the Ramones, etc. So well said. Oh, and to Josh...I'm a Gen X'er, not a boomer. FUCK THE BOOMERS, they all need to hurry up and DIE and quit spending my inheritance.

Not a lot of true talent happening here? Who do you find talented? This I’ve got to hear! Nirvana have millions of fans worldwide and are in the HOF posthumously. But of course, that does not mean you have to like or appreciate them. You are entitled to your opinion obviously. It’s actually very difficult to write songs with only three chords and a melody and not be boring. I can hardly wait to hear what bands are talented in your opinion. Please share your wisdom with us all. And you probably hate the Beatles, too! I can tell that your that type of contrarian. And if you name some obscure bands no one has even heard of I will throw up! The angst part of your criticism I can say has some validity . I’m not thrilled will people who scream into microphones either. If your screaming, there better be a good reason. Like somebody shot your dog or something. Screaming for no reason does nothing for me.
