2 fucking power chords, 4th fret to open EAD strings in drop C, and you have the most depressing song ever made. Kurt was truly disturbed and beaten. This song makes everyone, me, just anyone who listens to it feel empty and broken.
@Daniel Oliveira You can still play it in standard tuning, play the A and D strings on 3rd fret and then E and A string on 4th fret, at least that sounds quite similar to my ear
Not me, I freaking love this song but that's bc I do weird things with music. I can explain that the significance of why it sounds so depressing tho has to do with how sad the lyrics are, and helping the listener understand the message in the song more so... How something is in the way of how we see the world, how we justify things, what we call normal, etc...
@@kencarson4l Haha! I’ve saw it seven times currently! It’s such a beautiful piece of art, especially the cinematography as that’s what I plan to study precisely after this film industry course!
@@fuber98 Oh that was before, I just love cinematography and that’s my passion and goal, be a cinematographer. I’ve watched it in the last two months an additional 8 times. Each time gets better and better haha!
The way it moves, so manipulative, yet so fragile, able to do so much yet only does so little, the oposites combine to make a comforting and haunting intrumental
Underneath the bridge Tarp has sprung a leak And the animals I've trapped Have all become my pets And I'm living off of grass And the drippings from the ceiling It's okay to eat fish 'Cause they don't have any feelings [Chorus] Something in the way, mmm Something in the way, yeah, mmm Something in the way, mmm Something in the way, yeah, mmm Something in the way, mmm Something in the way, yeah, mmm [Verse] Underneath the bridge Tarp has sprung a leak And the animals I've trapped Have all become my pets And I'm living off of grass And the drippings from the ceiling It's okay to eat fish 'Cause they don't have any feelings
I usually play the verses with it tuned to drop C, and i bar the top 3 strings at the 4th fret. Its a down down down up down strum pattern. On every up strum, you either un-bar the 3 strings, or re-bar them. Turns out really well actually. I never could figure out the chorus though, so i just strummed the verse till the end. But now i actually now it
People say it sounds like death & depressing but honestly I found this song from the Batman so I think bc of that connection, the song gives me more of a “shit may be tough now but we will overcome” kind of vibe. Probably bc it was playing during his monologue near the end of the movie after he leads the ppl out of the flood. “Our scars can destroy us, even after the physical wounds have healed, but if we survive them, they can transform us, they can give us the power to endure and the strength to fight.”
