Someone pointed this out for me but the show really does push Onodera as best girl(or it’s just Ruka pov).Like both girls are meant to have horrible poker faces(Chitoge and Onodera),but only onedera is actually drawn cute.I’m just gonna say it’s really no wonder people didn’t get this show(specifically the manga).Also with how Chitoge is portrayed in the show it really is a miracle ChitogexRaku fans exist.
I liked chitoge from the beginning not because of rakuxchitoge, but because she's genuinely a fun character to have around and despite her not initially feeling affection towards raku, they played off each other real well. It was about halfway through the story when I started shipping them and that never changed till the end of the manga. I really think people misjudge nisekoi for your typical romcom story. that's the only way I can see them not liking the story/ending because viewing it from purely a romance standpoint, ofc onodera would be the go to pick... She's amazing and a perfect girl to be with. However, nisekoi isn't all romance.. Its over 200 chapters and the time given wasn't all about developing feelings but showing the lives of all the main characters in the show culminating in having every character in the show be lovable and believable people. If we dig deeper into the themes, it's all about letting go of what we once had in the past and not letting it hold us back from what we feel now. It tells how we should be honest with how we feel even if we might get hurt because.. That's just life, its better to feel hurt in failing after trying rather than regret never even trying. I said this before and I'll say it again, nisekoi's message is painful and obviously it's a hard one to accept.. But i respect the hell out of the mangaka for choosing an actual realistic approach in picking themes and being able to convey that theme in a way anyone in their Highschool years can understand.. If only people weren't so hung up on the surface level stuff like best girl🙄
letsbedragonflies but in this situation and how the anime was formed chitoge would be the cliched girl that always wins since like alot of cliched animes: guy likes girl for long time, new pretty girl comes in, main character ends up spending more time with pretty girl, eventually starts liking new girl over older girl and new girl wins
