I keep coming back and watching this video and I just wanna say it's a masterpiece. The sound is just so good ripping through these mountains, mixed with the downshift this video is just perfect
goddamn seeing that gear stick move as you applied throttle was so satisfying. just proves how much power engines in general make. really nice car btw.
That V6 sound is glorious. I straight piped my Lexus IS250 recently and the screaming V6 is just amazing. I wanted to get a 350Z or 370Z but the taxes for any engine that is above 3 litres in Belgium is just insane, so I went with the 2.5L V6 in the Lexus. Love it love it love it. Maybe one day I’ll get my Z :)
Taxed on the displacement of your engine? Wow I'm really sorry to hear that. Can u get away with any mods in Belgium like forced induction or a built engine? What about tuning? I'm genuinely curious.
@@tksperformance8789 hey! Yeah your insurance and road use tax gets calculated on your engine displacement, kW and torque, safety features (the more you have, like sensors, emergency stop sensors, 4WD, … the less insurance you pay. The price also goes down the longer you drive without any incident, your fault or the other person’s fault. I pay somewhere between 800 and 900 euros a year (900-1000 US dollar) for road taxes and my current insurance is 680€ per year. I’ve never had an incident so it goes down almost 90€ every year. My dad for example, who’s never had an incident in more than 40 years of driving pays somewhere between 100 and 200 Euros for his insurance. Insurance is actually really okay in Belgium, it’s just the road taxes that are ridiculous. A 3.5 liter V6 would’ve cost me around 2500€ a year for the 350Z, while the 2.5 liter V6 of my IS250 “only” costs me 800-900€. 3L engines are the sweetspot here, once you go above 3L, yikes!
@@tksperformance8789 also about tuning mods, you can tune visually quite freely here. Engine modifications are very limited. Swaps are not allowed for example. You can only swap your engine with the type of engine that belongs in your model of car. Like, I can’t put the IS350 3.5L V6 in my car. Even though the car is identical, the engine doesn’t belong to the IS250. I sort of know a guy who heavily tuned his bmw 330i or 340i, kinda forgot, to somewhere around 650hp. That’s what he says at least. I just know the car is an absolute rocketship. When he goes to his yearly road legality checkup, he removes his big mods and puts the originals back, so the firm doesn’t see it. They then check your car, lights, suspension, brakes and tires etc. Do some smog tests and whatever. Afterwards he just puts back his beemer into 650hp mode lmao. I just do that with my straight pipe. It’s not allowed. I remove my straight pipe for the checkup. Car gets road clearance for another year, and put the straight pipe back on. Exhaust modifications are only allowed freely if the part you install is certified for use in Europe. My self made straight pipe is illegal so I have to remove it once a year for the checkups. Belgium is ridiculous.
@@MRBlRB94 hey man, thx for the detailed response, i really appreciate it. It seems like some of the laws are the same as here in the US but we differ state to state in a huge way. California for example has always been super strict with trying to get to the point of no mods and road side checks if pulled for exhaust or other suspected mods. I'm in NC but SC right below us and Florida don't even have an inspection program. I'm sure they have motor vehicle laws they're just not enforced in the least bit. You mentioned the guy with the BMW and that kinda sounds like what I do. I remove my midmount turbo and manifold and put on my y pipe with cats, rear O2s and the stock tune file for inspection yearly. I have a shop so it's not too big of a deal. The guys doing the inspection are friends and they know I do it but they aren't government employees trying to bust people for having fun so it works out okay lol. Insurance here sounds pretty much the same as in it gets cheaper after a time with no incidents. Although I've heard of people being dropped because the Insurance company figures they're statistically due for an incident. Whatever though, the next company picks them right up. I gotta say your road tax is extremely high. In NC I pay approximately $100 yearly to re-register my 07 350z, it's not bad but if I had a new car worth $50k it would probably be closer to $4-450 yearly. I'm very thankful that our states operates so independently, the day the federal government over rules that is the day the USA is no more. Thanks again brother, keep having fun with your cars, car culture people are probably the happiest/friendliest people i meet in life. That's why I'm in the business. Got to love what you do! 👨🏻🔧
@@garyg9853 kind of, I sold my z and was building an mr2 until a guy stole all my money that I gave him for parts. Hopefully next year I'll be able to have a functioning car.
Personally, I respect the lanes a bit more and go a bit slower in turn, but if you're comfortable then more power to ya. All I can say is easy up on the clutch with those downshifts, don't ever want the rear to chirp on the way down.
God dang bro that thing sounds like a monster. I really wanted one of these for a first car, but got a 92 Miata instead. I'll make it a monster eventually. What you got in that thing dude?
Out of curiosity, does your z burn a lot of oil during a run like this? No hate, genuinely interested. My g35 definitely would lol, makes me scared to open up the throttle too much
His is the HR version of the VQs so his doesn’t burn oil. DEs and especially the DE Rev Ups burn a lot of oil. My 05 G35 coupe burns oil so to fix that it’s best to get a catch can.
Beautiful sounding Z just wondering if its a de and how much mileage ur car typically had in this video cuz my cars has about 200k miles nd can never imagine pushing my z like this lol
Driving is pretty good you need to learn better throttle and clutch control in my opinion. Just looks like your using the throttle like an on off switch. If you where smoother cornering speed would be much higher.
