@@johnsoapmactavish9921 It is taught when getting a license of the amount of damage a vehicle can do. It is stated the harm that come from being impaired and operating a vehicle. You're entering the vehicle and driving knowing you can kill someone. That's murder.
@@Striker50_ knowing and intending to kill someone are 2 separate things. Did the drunk driver know the victim, did the driver intend to kill that specific victim? No, the death of the victim was caused by negligence of the drunk driver. The drunk driver probably thought it was a bad idea somewhere in their subconscious (they’re drunk, there’s literally little to zero logical and comprehensive thinking). The incident occurred because the victim was unfortunately at the wrong place and time in the path of an irresponsible driver
A lot of people though this was me. I have the exact Z, with the same wheels and color. I had my phone blowing up with people checking up on me. This made my heart sink. It really felt like a parallel world to me. RiP

It wasn't like this years ago. It was funny you would get a slap on the wrist and head home and learn from it. Today the cars are fast and the roads are dangerous. So I agree things have changed the same goes for weed

My son is in college almost 3 hours from home. I literally pray every night that he does not encounter someone like this. Why didn’t someone take the driver’s keys? Such carelessness and stupidity.
I was almost involved in an accident w/ a wrong way driver last month on my way home from work , she past me doing about 60 mph on 35 mph zone missing me by a inches .. I got very lucky to make it home to my family .. be careful out there and pay attention to your surroundings , because in a blink of an eye your life can be cut short ..
Exactly...if you are not paying attention ALL the time you are at risk of dying while driving. You have to drive knowing this. Every intersection no matter the light or conditions should be considered a stop sign. Don't mean stopping on a green but you need to be "clearing the intersections every-time you encounter one. Look left look right as you approach with brake pedal covered and speed reducing not accelerating. Adding to the fun is the knowledge many drivers are LITERALLY trying to kill you. The cut-offs, close lane changing, tailgating all of it is about KILLING YOU.
That is very true... it’s happening to many people coming across these people not living in reality knowing they are putting others in danger ⚠️ they should seek God for spiritual deliverance from them demons of destruction their mission is to make you bring harm to others and to your self... get my point...MC🎄🎁
I had a wrong way driver coming at me around 2-3am in the morning a few months back. Luckily they had their lights on, and I had an intersection I was about ready to dive into... You don't know if they are drunk or suicidal. Scary stuff, and its made me extremely paranoid about late night driving. Stay safe out there.
@@timothybarela1305 never underestimate the number of suicidal people out there. Most of the Cop shootings are this. Media has to divert attention away from this so as not to scare the plebs anymore than they are.
So tragic when innocent people are killed by distracted drivers, drunk drivers, texting drivers, drivers on drugs, etc. Such sadness for the young man killed. Our condolences to his family.
Condolences to the family and friends of the 18 year old who was just beginning his adult life, only to have it taken away because someone decided to drink and drive.
This is exactly why I have anxiety whenever my son is on the road, especially late at night. I pray to never feel this pain. Condolences to the victim’s family. 😔 🙏🏽
As a fellow 18 y/o 350z driver this breaks my heart, and let’s me know that I should be grateful everyday that I make it home. That could’ve been me 😭😪
Very unfortunate an INNOCENT young man lost his life due to the pathetic conduct of the wrong way driver. I'll be cruel - that wrong way driver needs the death penalty. He/she could have stopped at any time. There are too many of these accidents. Time to make sure that they will never do this again.
The deep state spineless coward bitch shadow government uses temporary freeway signs to create wrong way crashes , thats been my unfortunate experience .
Unfortunately, the death penalty means nothing in this state. The inmate is usually housed and fed for AT LEAST three decades, then die in prison, even being put to death.
Thank you to our first responders. I can't imagine how difficult this is extracting someone from something like this, especially when they have passed away.
Been a Firefighter for 15+ years. My daughter is 7 months old. Whens she's old enough to drive I'm buying her the safest car available at the time. I don't care what it costs. I've seen so many lives lost over the performance of their cars safety it's insane.
Yeah but the it wasn’t the sports cars fault, he was driving a nearly 15-20 year old car that got hit head on by a car about half of its age. And then hit again by a full size pickup. Performance cars are very safe today, but ignorance is still ignorance. That being said these old Z’s have the worst crash ratings. The newer ones are very much up to par with any new car on the road.
Crash survivability is very rarely about the car itself but about the reflexes of a driver, both the one causing the accident and the one they hit. The absolute best thing you can do for your daughter is to teach her about situational awareness, staying focused, constantly being on alert, and making sure she knows that the only person she knows is paying attention for sure is her. You just always have to assume the driver next to you isn't watching the road at all and be able to handle any situation that arises from that distraction.
@@elizabethmion4595 Ummm with all due respect crash survivability is always about the cars safety rating, speed and area of impact, physical condition of the patient (health). The fact you're aware you're about to get hit does nothing. I work 30+ car crashes a month x 16 years. My stations have all been either zoned near highways or interstates. That's around 5,700 car accidents I've personally responded too. She will be taught to have her head on a swivel but she will also have the safest car on the road. At the moment that is the Volvo XC90. People think the Tesla cars are safer because the occupant cell doesn't deform in the slightest but what they have zero grasp on is energy transfer routing. Volvos route the energy around the occupant through pendulum B posts, lateral energy transfer seat bars, vertical seat crumple zones, and 60% vehicle weight comprised of Boron Steel. There is no other vehicle safer than the 2022 Volvo XC90. I put my wife in a 2021 XC90, it was recently hit by a 18 wheeler broadside. She's perfectly fine and I have a 2022 on order to replace it. I've seen so many lives lost because the car they chose failed them. You look at this body, blood seeping into a hospital sheet you covered them with, knowing they would be there standing next to you had they actually researched what they were driving. The other driver of a safer model vehicle just walking around the scene, just fine. Picking a vehicle with modern seatbelt pretensioner, seatbelt load limiters, dual stage airbags, boron steel, front and rear crumple zones, 5 star small offset frontal ratings (hard to achieve) all come into play. Not getting into an accident is the first goal, but then they wouldn't be called accidents. Care less about how many cupholders your car comes with and more about the steel it comes with. - Adam

@@InykTide So the wrong-way driver was NOT drunk? Gee, one can only wonder if stupidity could be the only reason a sober person drives the wrong way on the freeway.
Ah, come on. It's not as simple as that. His children are fatherless, his wife a widow, loss of family income, etc. No man is an island. No man stands alone.
My son and I were exiting the freeway when a car drove past us in the other lane of the off ramp. A couple of cars behind me and myself all stopped to make sure that person stopped and turned around. Which thank God they did. We were almost hit head on.

@@deerjoy2435 She's not stating when she and the cars behind her stopped. I suspect it was as the wrong-way vehicle approached and it drove past her as she was already stopped. Perhaps it was only the vehicles behind her that caused the wrong-way driver to stop and turn around.
I should add that this was perhaps a case where someone made a big mistake and perhaps wasn't speeding, especially considering it had just gotten on the ramp. Seeing high-beams flashing, hearing horns honking, or noticing other drivers waving clued the driver to its mistake. But a drunk driver might've been totally oblivious to all of that. That scenario is quite different to a vehicle coming at you the wrong way at highway speed. Adding both speeds is like driving at close to 120 mph, or 175 feet per second. That leaves very little time to react by the time you realize the oncoming vehicle is on your lane.

Coming across this is not pleasant and very upsetting for me. I lost my old man on New Years day 2005 at 1.08 am from a head on collision, drunk driver. Getting a call at 2:05 am for the news is devastating. Its a life changer and one that you will relive the same moments every year. Unfortunately people dont learn and cause so much pain and suffering to others from making bad choices. It breaks up families from both sides and consequences are severe and not repairable. My heart goes out the victims family and friends. Stay strong, cos life sucks and you wont know when your time is up. Live life everyday as its your last. Try to be good to others.
What is the deal with so many people lately repeatedly driving the wrong direction on these interstates and causing all this mayhem and death? I’m beginning to believe that most are suicidal and as a frequent result homicidal
Wrong way drivers is a weekly phenomenon in Las Vegas. There’s something about some of the on ramps here that confuse even some sober drivers when they’re the only car on the road. Including out of towners but also locals. Be extra alert driving after midnight, folks.
It does suck but there is a reason behind it. Their body is more relaxed and less tense so it really helps during impacts. :/ I remember long ago that’s what they would say to do if you know you can’t avoid a crash.
Because their body doesn’t typically tense up at the moment of impact and they just go with it…where a sober persons naturally tries to protect themselves hence tensing up their bodies and well as u can see drunk drivers seem to walk away almost every time..sad..just makes you realize how quick life can be taken from you for no reasoning of your own sometimes 🙏🏻💔
Had my scare with a wrong way driver on the interstate back in the early 2000's in Spartanburg SC on I-26. Dusk setting, and his headlights were not on either. Police were giving chase from across the grass median but were unwilling to venture over to head him off. Luckily I was in the right side lane and that car zoomed by me.
I had a silver 04 350Z. I was stopped by a Mountain View PD officer on El Camino Real (circa 2005) supposedly for accelerating too fast out of a green light (I had a Nismo exhaust which could make a fast acceleration sound even more dramatic than it was). I never exceeded the 40mph speed limit, he didn’t write me a ticket, he just stopped me to ask why I was in a hurry and if I’d ever seen a 350Z in a crash (I hadn’t) and he said he had, and it wasn’t pretty, and he told me to be careful and let me go on my way (I’ve gotten out of tickets as many times as I’ve been issued tickets, the key is to be very respectful and apologetic). I thought that stop was really strange! Until this video 16+ years later I never really knew what he meant and had never seen a 350Z in a deadly crash.
Encountering a wrong-way driver on two separate occasions was the strangest feeling. Your brain sorta goes blank, especially at night. Luckily I was able to slow down, but there’s just no telling what the other driver is going to do. Very scary.
@acktually aintaddingupthat’s how I survived, but you honestly just don’t know which way they’re gonna swerve. And yes, slowing down, signaling and getting out the way is absolutely key.
The punishment for killing someone while drunk or drugged driving is NOT strict enough, which is why kids drive drunk without batting an eyelash. Truly sad
Stay out of the HOV or Diamond carpool lane after 10:00pm…Wrong way DUI drivers will proceed in that lane thinking they’re in the slow lane of the freeway…this advise can and will save lives…Stay safe!
This kinda stuff breaks my heart especially after seeing the tomei and the rpf1’s kid was probably just trying to enjoy a nice drive in his nice car just to have his life cut short
The one thing I fear of driving at night, coming across a wrong way driver. I wanted a Z before and it breaks me to find out it was a young lad/lass who passed. I pray this doesn’t happen to another person or to myself.
I drive about 8-10 hours every single day, and I have come across some people going the wrong way a few times, but whenever that happens, I start driving defensively. Meaning I tried to avoid that wrong way driver at all costs. I am always scanning the roads seeking for possible hazards and that has kept me going. The Honda Accord guy is obviously guilty and all, but we have to pay more attention to the road. Paying attention to the road rather than paying attention to our phone can make a difference between life and death
The Honda Accord was traveling at around 90mph, even braking or moving out of the way would of caused a bigger mess. The 350z driver was paying attention to the road. I was the passenger.

@trustfund802 i thought my response was pretty calm, you're the one who sounds worked up over the fact i've called a Z nice. it's not luxury and it's not a super car, but it's a nice entry level sports car. with little work, they can become good track cars. ☺ i'm sure this guy enjoyed his car like you enjoy yours. part of being a car enthusiast is to respect what other people enjoy, because we all revolve around a silly tin can on wheels. you aren't a car enthusiast if you can't respect that.
Please change the description. The one who passed away was NOT the wrong way driver. It was the three males in the truck. Someone who knows the victim made a comment below.
Why can't people realize they are going the wrong way on the freeway? With all the lights of cars coming at them and the "backs of road and exit signs," are they totally blind???
It could of been Booze, Drugs or even suicidal tendencies had something to do with it. You never know what is going on with that person all I know is that I would know right away that I'm going the wrong way and I would put the hazards on get on the side of the road and reverse back to how I got on the Interstate
A little known fact, the lane delineators (bots dots) that appear white when you are driving in the correct direction are red when you’re driving the. wrong way on the freeway. It’s too bad that drunk or drugged drivers don’t realize that.
When I'm driving in US, I'm always very careful, Because in my country its RHD right hand drive. And In US its left hand drive, So it's my worst fear I don't go on wrong side of the road.
