Nissan 370Z Nismo AAM Resonated Short Tails DRIVING REVIEW! 

I have a 18 Nismo, and went with the AAM system here. Their updated system looks different, sounds better, and has pretty much perfect fitment. Initially the sound difference between stock and AAM was too dramatic, too loud, and I was close to changing it back. That said I waited a couple of months (garage queen/weekend car) and let the system mature with usage. It sounds better after it seasons. I'm burning 100 octane, have a custom intake (Stillen gen 3) and my guess is with less restriction on both ends, I've picked up an extra 25+ HP. No dyno to prove that, just the feel. I would recommend this system if your ride is NOT a daily driver. Sitting in traffic would get old listening to it (total 60s muscle car sound). The major downside to this system or any other that increases your "sound" is the unwanted attention it draws. Everyone and their mother has to screw with you on the road, from the 16 y/o with dad's 92 accord, to the soccer mom in her SUV. It sucks just not being able to just enjoy the drive, but that's what you're going to get, because the Z is a rarer bird on the road in comparison to the domestics, and the STIs imports etc., ... and of course the envious must show their asses. Get use to getting up at 0400 to drive it when no one else is out.

I'm taking delivery of a 2018 nismo on Friday, very excited! Your vids have some great info man, I've been watching them all. After your whole experience and additional mods, do you think keeping the car completely stock, other than the aam resonated short tails is the way to go? They sound great and i don't want ridiculous noise or drone. not expecting crazy power gains either. This is what my plan is for now, but hearing your opinion would be great, thanks!

You can tell in the beginning of the video when he does the cold start that he loves the exhaust by the way he smiled haha. Nice video, Bryan with a I ;)

Nice vid. Thanks for the review. By the way, you can cure the rear hatch noise or looseness by sticking a couple of round rubber anti skid pads in the indentions on each side of the latch. The round half inch discs fit perfectly. Depending on how loose your hatch is , you may need two or three in each indentation. You'll know you have enough when you press down on a closed hatch and there's no longer any movement. You can also adjust the actual latch mechanism but you would need to remove the inside plastic panels to get to it. Hope this helps.

Will you recommend this car in automatic??? Cant drive manual (health reasons) currently drive a vw mk6 gti dsg . I really love this car man :(

Great video! I have a 2011 Nismo and I’m interested in buying these I’m just worried about drone. Would this rattle my interior? Are you able to blast you music without the drone being to overwhelming ?

Your vids helped me in the decision-making process and are now helping with deliberation over what to do with mine. First mods completed today: Removal of dealer markings and addition of 'Z' license plate bracket and valve stem covers... Ya gotta start somewhere - lol! Big looming question: Any thoughts or plans on forced injection? Personally, I think with the basic mods you've made combined with a Z's already-fast nature, adding excessive amounts of power would be far more bother and expense than they'd be worth, unless you're running a lot of long straights or just flat-out drag racing. Seems to me that unless you need lots of speed or acceleration above U.S. speed limits, hi revs in the first three gears of this car offer more than plenty of get-up-and-go.

This doesn’t effect emissions as long as keep the cats right? Looking to upgrade but not break the bank with a full exhaust system

Another good video! I agree with you on everything haha the stock H-pipe makes it a true dual so all you really need is a nice axle back. I've been driving with my Beluga axle back aka (manzo, topspeed) on my Nismo for about a month and it sounds really mean! Love the sound although on mine the fit is perfect since the tips are welded on BUT the exhuast does rattle at low speeds. For $280 it's worth it for the Nismo, but have you noticed any loss of MPG? I feel like I lost a little bit but that could be because my foot became heavier after installing the exhaust lol

What you think if I buy a Nismo in Washington DC? People said is awful in the Snow ****, but really in DC it doesn't snow to much, and is only in Winter time. 3-4 months

You think the non resonated and resonated short tails there isnt such big difference? I have 2012 g37 ipl with test pipes. Will i get big sound difference with either or?

I actually like the design of the tips on the non-resonated pipes better. Is it possible to get the resonated pipes with those tips instead?

I'm thinking about getting this exhaust. What's the loudest on the market right now? And how does it compare (Loudeness) to other aftermarket exhaust? Edit: I don't know much about the aam short tails installation, but do you need to remove the rear muffler to properly install it?

I love 370Z too,i drive 370z nismo.

As far as bang for buck goes the loudest 4 cylinder car is a Fiat 500 Abarth, literally no contest lol.

Thanks for making a follow up on this. Your Z has one of the best sounding systems I have heard but your vid convinced me to stay with stock. I know, lame, but I don’t care. I’ve spent a lot of money on exhausts and ended up regretting all of them. Regardless, your Z sounds perfect outside of the car.

Very nice sound. You are still under a factory warranty? Doesn't the modification void that, should a nissan dealer have to fix something? I bought a red 2016 nismo tech 3 weeks ago and love it, but I'm counting on that factory warranty if any costly repairs are needed.
