Nissan e-POWER technology explained 

e-POWER borrows from the electric vehicle (EV) technology perfected in Nissan LEAF, adding a small petrol engine to charge the compact Lithium-ion battery when necessary. This eliminates the need for plug-in charging, while offering the same high power output as an EV.
