I wanted a Tacoma as well. But went with nissan because it was half the price. I ended up with a xterra 4wd. Been running great so far. Would love to see videos of titan swaps
jvh22a I have a vid I did that explains some of the important things for Titan swapping nissans. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-FtFVNMJFG8M.html
Sold my titan swapped 2015 Frontier last year. Had it on Radflos, thing was a beast. Lots of mods and it was still less than a Tacoma. Miss it, but the family outgrew it.
Love it from a diehard Frontier guy! 2016 Pro 4X. 2" in front, 1.5 " in rear. Both from All Dogs Off-road Coop. Coil springs in front and add leaf package in rear. Now for bumper and skid plates. Also have the Atturo Trail blade MT. LT285/75r16 on factory wheels and gears. Very happy with my setup but really digging your truck!!! I have never wheeled out west. GA overland trails. Would love to join y'all sometime! Keep wheeling buddy!!!!!
Dope truck! Have some steel hefty skids on my frontier and saving up for their sliders. Got a 2” suspension lift too with a rear add-a-leaf and bilstein 5100’s all around. 2019 Pro-4x Crewcab in gunmetal. Can’t say enough how much I love this truck
Who else owns a Frontier Pro-4x? It’s so over looked because it doesn’t have the updated interior like the other mid size pick ups now a days, but it’s such a great truck. I was going through so deep mud earlier today no problem and a guy had a Ram 1500 2x2 and got stuck, so I tried it in my Pro-4x in 2x2 and it got through it no problem at a crawl as slow as I could. Sure it’s outdated interior wise for 2020 but it’s a solid truck and for the price? It’s the best by far.
TRHenry Vlogs i have a 2017 Pro-4X 6-speed. I love the thing. People dislike the spartan interior and the lack of technology...ironically it’s what drew me to purchase the truck.
Nice truck that throttle restriction removed makes a big difference I had a 13 Frontier 2wd that had a tuner. Now I have a 15 Pro 4x & it has a Fabtech lift SPC UCA'S, Radflo shocks & 1½" leaf springs added on 36"s. I wish someone made a tuner for my truck. That would make a big difference but even without it on 36"s there isn't a problem with power, the only thing is @60mph you're doing about 66mph.
This is kind of a sad time period for the Nissan Frontier owners, kind of the end of an ‘era’ to see a new design finally coming out. I would have loved it if when my 2013 Frontier wears out to be able to buy the same truck with the same engine and body still in new production. But, hopefully the new version in a few years will have any problems vetted out.
Is it just me, or does this setup look less wide than most other Titan swaps? I really really like it, and think this will be the way I go in the future. Also, I thought you needed to run 18" wheels for these setups? Those look like the stock 16" wheels.
Awesome truck and video! Ironically I came to Nissan after owning all Toyotas and after my 2006 Toyota Tacoma TRD frame rusted out at only 80k miles/8yrs old and now I drive a 14 xterra pro4x that will be getting a titan swap soon:)
Nice rig. What BD tuner did you go with? Checked the site looks like 2 models avail. Also which one will allow u delete or override the below 15mph restrictions.
HARD ENDURO you should check with billy dog. What you’re looking for is the WOT restriction. Which is wide open throttle. Someone told me the newer bully dog units no longer support deleting the WOT restriction.
I’m looking to purchase a new ‘19 Pro4 X, what is a reasonable price I can expect to pay? I had a ‘17 TRD OR Tacoma. That truck got stolen and I was fortunate the Troopers recovered it. After I had all of the repairs taken care of I sold it. Fast forward two years and I’m looking at getting a mid-size as a daily driver and parking my Ram 3500 and wanting to save a few thousand on new thought I’d go with the Frontier after hearing countless glowing reviews on the truck. I live in North Pole, Alaska (yes it’s an actual town) and I refuse to work with the Nissan stealership in Fairbanks so I’m negotiating with two Nissan dealers on-line and thought I’d reach out all of you who have a bit more experience working with Nissan. The trucks I’m looking at are ‘19s Pro4 Xs w/leather.
He mentioned He's running 33"s or the metric equivalent 285/xx/xx. He also mentioned the frontier come s 275" aka 32"s, But they Actually come with 265/70/16 from the factory. from what I understand and have been told by local tire shops and forums that you can't go any bigger than a 31 without changing gearing, and a suspension or body lift, or trimming. I have 2016 Pro4x Frontier and I haven't been able to find any suspension lifts from companies such as Rough country etc.
J Hill I’m running 285/75/16’s. Yes the frontier pro4 came stock with 265 which are essentially 31.5 inch tires. You can 100% run any size tire you want on stock gearing. The bigger the tire you go the more sluggish the truck will feel tho. As far as getting a 33” tire to fit you will need a 2” lift. Wether that’s a body lift or a suspension lift. Go check out Nisstec lifts and PRG. Both have lifts available to get you to where you can run 33” tires.
Great job guys! One question, does the Titan swap improve the turning radio? I have the 2019 Pro 4x V6 4x4 and its great, except when it comes to turning. Thanks
Ok I got equation for any Nissan group out there I have a 2000 King cab Nissan frontier that I am turning in. Overland rig and for the life of me I cannot find a lift kit for the front end of my truck that will fit
Hey guys I have 2014 Frontier Pro-4x. I want to get a lift for the truck but I've read everywhere that "No lift/level kit for Pro 4x" what's my best option. Do I do the titan swap? If I get a lift/level kit which one. Any help would be much appreciated. Can you possibly give me a price range aswell?
It really depends on what you intent to do with the truck. If mellow off roading/camping is your goal then a basic lift will be fine. If you plan to wheel more technical trails then a titan swap is the way to go. Give the guys at Nisstec lifts a call and tell them Rogue Overland sent you; they will take good care of you.
Whew! Frontys for the win!! Love my 2018 Pro-4x. Titan swap coming down the road, just running ADO coils and rear AAL with Bilstein 5100s all around with the SPC adjustable UCAS; and 285 Ko2's for shoes! Look into Dezert Runner Offroad, they make great Frontier products and even have a plate style pre-runner bumper, that's what is on mine. Cheers - thanks for the Nissan love!
2005-2009or2010 had a radiator cross contamination issue which allowed the antifreeze & automatic transmission fluid to mix. So be sure the radiator has been changed out if you find an automatic Frontier within those years. I have a 2017 Pro4x & it is phenomenal!
Any year 2005-2019 are the same. 2020 is the same body with the newer engine and trans. 2005-early 2010 models were subject to the SMOD contamination. If you get an early year 2nd gen do the radiator bypass and you will be good to go. The 4.0 engine on these trucks are bulletproof.
XtremeBUZZ the current m205 is a two rib that’s open. I slapped it in because it was the correct gearing to match the rear. I’m planning to move to 35’s and I have a 3 rib m205 that is getting locked and 4:56’s installed.
kervin perez yes kinda. A titan swap consists of running a titan lower. A titan oem length upper control arm, either factory or aftermarket. And then a tie rod extension. If your 4x4 then you need extended half shafts to retain 4x4 or you can get a titan front diff and run titan axles.
Jarrett Bremmer I tried building mine for a couple years and never liked how they turned out. So I bit the bullet and went with the Rago Fab Fitch light bracket. The lights are speedtech lighting.
