I still recommend it. There is an online guide, but that's all it is,it's not exact. The dash is not hard at all to take apart. This is a fairly easy install. Hardest part is running cable from unit to glove box and even that's not hard. It is truly plug and play. There is a better unit on the market but no way in Hell I'm paying a thousand dollars for that.
Hey, what if i dont want the dvd player, is it possible for me to buy a pioneer radio and change the screen. I really wanna chnge my screen that's it nothing else
It was 98% a perfect fit. If you didn't know better you would think it came from the factory.....almost. the satellite radio function could be better integrated, but it works. It comes with instructions that are more a guide than anything, but they made the process harder. it really is a common sense install. I am by no means an electronics installer and I did fine. let me know if you got any other questions.
B Free can u please explain what I need to get to configure all this stuff..I just bought the same year car, but it has that ugly orange screen. What do I need to get?
Hey man. Can you give me any info on this? Like what it's called, who makes it, where can I get it? That is so awesome! I have a 2011 Maxima S with the monochrome screen and this is exactly what I want! Thanks!
The temperature readout is done on the factory Panasonic system (PAS makes the factory radios, even the Bose) by use of the CANBUS. My guess is that the new system doesn't have the ability to read the comm signals. With HVAC, it would vary from vehicle to vehicle, so it probably wasn't included for that reason.
B free got a question for u . Got my CD stuck in CD player in my 09 Nissan Maxima can't get out just keep saying eject and when I press it goes to the radio station..
hello b free, I have been searching around for a screen similar to yours since they are now sold out where you purchased it, but I was reading through your. comments and you said there's another on the market can you please guide me through where I can find it. I'm trying to change my orange screen on my maxima and have something like yours but I can't seem to find anything. what they are telling me is that they can replace the stereo underneath and add a screen but that's not what I want. I would appreciate your help. thanks.
I don't know why they cut off at 2012 but it will definitely work. there is no change throughout the build if the 7th generation maxima screen. as long as you have the orange screen it will work.
I have a 2011 Maxima and would love to have this but the website continually shows "sold out"...would you happen to know when they'll have some available? Thank you in advance
Hey man thanks for the review...question, does this have any option to connect to an ipod with bluetooth or any other way. My max doesn't have a USB connection just aux. I would want a head unit that connected to an ipod so i can see the ipod info o the monitor
finally purchased a couple months ago but i have one question. Everything is installed and working but how did you get the dvd player to sit in the glove box like that? I've been looking all around to figure out how to install it like that
Hey I wanted to ask, does it work with the Bose amplifier that comes stock with the maxima? I have a 2012 sports maxima and they told me I won’t hear anything if I have a Bose amplifier.
Quentin. The cord in the aux enables the sound from the DVD and Navy to go through the cars audio. It stays in all the time, but can be removed if you want to use the aux for something else. Most of these replacement units replace the head unit because the displays are in the head unit. In the maxima the display and head unit are separate so I guess this was the easiest way to pipe the sound in.
Hello man. I have one look like this. How I can change settings? Language and brightness? How I can get this device connected to internet for traffic real time updates? Thanks!
That’s awesome, I wanted to ask did your car come with Boss speaker and amplifier? I’m asking because they told me if my car Boss amplifier I want hear anything. Is this true?
I wonder if changing the vent cover to the cover with the nav buttons etc would fix the issue with the bluetooth integrated in this system you have do you happen to have a link to share where you purchased this system?
B Free I actually found this exact unit actually I can share the link with you once I get in the house they still sell it just not on the site you have
This is exactly what I've been looking for! It's hard to find for sale but there are a few out there. How's it been working for the past year for you? Great review!
I have a question that you may be able to answer. I recently did a factory rest on my 2011 maxima and when it came back on it now says infiniti and It no longer looks like it did when I first bought the car.
TAMELA BECHTEL not sure. sounds like during the reset the software was changed. The systems for Nissan and Infiniti were very similar for that year/timeframe.
B Free Thank you, do you know of anyway to get it back? could i go back into the secret diag screen and manually change the inputs? Im only asking because im missing some tabs like my comfort one for door locks, daytime light etc.
Im in the same boat as you. I'm trying to get a screen put in mine. I drive a 2012 Nissan maxima w/O navigation. I wanted to do the same thing as you but they keep telling me I need a bose amp to install a screen in my car
I love it I have same as ur car but mine is 2014 and don't have the package with navigation I have same as ur screen and I wanna do it like urs and I live in Chicago can u please tell me where to get it from here every one I asked they don't know how here
Yousif Ohaneesian Yousif. I got it off of carnaviplayer.com....look under wince os navigation unit. look for Nissan Maxima Teana 2009-2012. it will fit the 2014 too!!!
Yousif Ohaneesian I just checked carnaviplayer.com. they are sold out, but they appear to have an android version. loom on the sight under android is navi unit. Nissan maxima/teanna
PaliOnMyMind PaliOnMyMind....CVT fluid change every 60,000 miles. Oil change every 5-7000 miles. I'm a spirited driver but I never beat the CVT up with burnouts and such. Shocks and struts changed I think around 190 and 200 thousand miles respectively. Control arms replaced at 205 thousand or somewhere in there because they were making noise. Very pleased with this car. These are wear and tear issues only. I'm going to get its first tune up this spring. I have tried to get it before but I was told plugs were good. It still runs flawlessly. Hope this answers your questions.
Not at all possible, I wanted to do the same but it will not work, if only it were that easy, lol. The wiring systems ad harnesses are completely different between the Sport Packace and the Tech Package which was $3k+ more when new and its all in the Technology and therefore the Wire harnesses. I went to Nissan to inquire about it and was told its possible but it would cost about $5k to change from A to B and would take 2-3 weeks to do at a Nissan Dealership. Very much Cost prohibitive.. lol
The only items I needed were screw drivers. I bought plastic trim removal tools for ten dollars, but if you are careful you could get away with a flathead scredriver.
I checked the website for the same exact one you bought but I wanna make sure it fits, I have a 2011 Nissan Maxima. Can you send me the link for the one you bought? I would appreciate it thanks.
Dwayne Crump It came from a place called carnaviplayer.com. I'm not sure if they make it anymore, but they may. Personally, if I had to do over, I would get an android unit instead.
I have a 14' and apparently going by what the Website says, that unit is for 09'-12' & the unit I linked below is for the 12'-14' (which makes no sense to me but whatever) I am waiting to hear back from them as to whether or not the unit mouts in the Monochrome Screens place or in the CD Changers place cause I done want 2 screens especially if 1 only functions partially. Anyhow Head Unit he shows in this Video is on that Website but is Sold out but I don't see why the 1 linked below wouldn't work for 09'-14' but oddly enough that link says the unit works for 12'-16' I believe. www.carnaviplayer.com/android-os-navigation-radio-for-nissan-maxima-teana-2012-2016-p-1034
@@RoaringLionOfTruth Thanks! I'm the same, I don't want 2 screens, I want the mono screen replaced. The 2012 S model is so bad and nearly impossible to upgrade.
Rayton Walker The kit came with a screen and unit to go in the glovebox. it has the DVD player and GPS, and Bluetooth mics that attach to it, along with USB ports and the SD card slot for GPS
