@thecardrawer10 essentialy yeah. it just depends what you want to do. any motor from a 1990-1995 pathfinder will work just fine. or you could do the vg33 swap like me. eiher way, go nissan.
@Vacmasterthegreat Oh very nice! You should make a video of it. Uh do you the MAF? It's kinda important. I don't think the pathy will like running to good without it.
The VQ35 is a completely different animal, you would need everything to do that swap and it's just not worth it. You might as well drop in the 350SBC if you want to try and put that in there.
@4xdanx4 Its was not bad. No instructions but simple. I had to move the powersteering fluid resivior and extend the steering linkage and extend the gas line from the tank to where you put gas in. Nothing to hard at all.
@Hoolalaha yeah over all it was an easy swap but for you it would be harder.. since yours is an 89 the ecus are different because you have VG30i for a carburated motor. so you would have to swap the ecus.. but it might work. I used the same motor mounts on the old engine.
@suzuki230 oh acceleration is deffinitely improved. it was horrible before until I passed 3rd gear. I seem to get 14mpg. but I've only put 50 miles on it and I'm guessing. it seems to normally idle at 900, and for a second it sat at about 450. I just really hope I can find a way to pick up a couple more mpg's. I'll bet if I can find someone to flash the computer I'll get good milage and better performance
@suzuki230 I thought it was the MAF. I don't know though because it drives better than it did before. idled a little low for a second today, but with that air filter it has more power. I am going to see if I can fit the pathy sensor on the new air filter, wether it's the MAF or not:)!
hey, do you know if there's one of those custom k&n performance filter kits that fits this car? the cone-shaped type. I'd really like to get rid of that one-way nissan box and go with one of those setups
Hey thanks man, hmm you would be much better off buy an 08 pathfinder than swapping the engine, for the swap tires and random parts, a little over 3000$
@DezertRacer7103 hey thanks, yeah i have thought about the cone but, i do too much off roading that i dont want to suck up anymore water. I have a 3inch body lift on. just check my other videos, pretty sure one of them has some mud somewhere in them ;)
thanks man! oh yeah the power is amazing! considering it had 234000 on the oringional one so it made a huge difference. yeah as for the ac thats a no go.. unless you do some custom piping for it.. I was going to put it back in but I decided I can live without ac :)

@Vacmasterthegreat oh.. you mean NISTUNE. Look it up on google and it's for the VG30E. I haven't heard of anyone doing it yet to the pathfinders but they do it a lot with the 240's 280's and 300z's.

Why does it make so much whirring noise under the hood? I've noticed it in your other videos as well. Maybe your fan clutch is fried? I have 1995 pathy btw.
I got 2 questions. 1. When you did the body lift how did you extend the steering shaft? 2. How hard was the vg33 switch? (like what did you have to do for the switch?)
Not unless you lift it do some cutting. You will have to change your wheels then to bring in the offset so they don't stick out as far. Yeah the brush gaurds are hard to find.
I just bought a 93. Horn doesn't work and I had a problem with the stock fog lights, and then I fixed it, and then in the same day they stoped working. Also missing the key chime thing that goes off when a door is open and the key is in the ignition. Are there relays/fuses for these hidden somewhere else besides the fuse box? I know there is a horn relay under the hood, but it's fine.
I have an 89 pathfinder, Is the it pretty simple doing the swap? all the mounts fit correctly or do you need to fabricate new ones? I love the car but the engine has 222XXX miles on it so I'm thinking about doing a swap to a newer hopefully better engine

@suzuki230 yeah, I just built my own today. I found the intake assembly my dad had from his first blower on his marauder. All I did was take the old air box out and put a piece of insulation around the pathy intake hose, and the filter fit snuggly. Do you know what the sensor attached to the air filter housing is? should I bother finding a way to reattach it?
@suzuki230 well, with our other cars, the guy that built the engines hooked his laptop up to the computer and changed all the settings to make the car run better. They called it flashing the computer. He was able to watch and change the air/fuel mixture, adjust idle rpm and change the shift points(automatic). It was quite interesting how he took our mustang that never ran right and had it purring in 2 minutes
@Vacmasterthegreat Hmm 14 mpg's isn't bad at all. yeah 900 is right where it should be at. You can do headers, exhaust, plugs to squeeze out a few more. By flash you mean upgrade the ecu?
@Vacmasterthegreat Haha well that's great to hear it's running better without it. This could be an interesting test. You could see how much faster the acceleration is and like mpg's. What was it idling at?
i was planning on doing almost that exact same exhaust setup to my '95 pathfinder. same engine, so how does it sound? does it add a nice roar? the vid didnt catch it quite. the straight pipe looks sick, just as i imagined hah
Hey bro... do you have the specific name of the push bar?, brush guard, grille guard, whatever peeps call it lol.... Also, did you have to retro fit it at all?
Does it not read at all? I know the older instrument clusters were ran by wire and needed to be pushed on all the way if you took apart the dash. I haven't worked on the newer one's a whole lot..
@TheZac258 I have a 3 inch body lift on it right now with the t- bars cranked. I will be putting a 3 inch suspension lift on it this summer to help. Sweet, let me know when you get the vids.
I probably wont lift it..just buy some thicker rims i guess and tires to go with it. That brush guard is VERY Hard to find ..I have been looking for two weeks and cant find one. Also..i cant find any damn needles lol.. im going to check the junkyard again.
@KSIFLYBOY hmm.. I'm on a 3 inch body lift with just the 33inch superswampers and the t bars cranked.. I dont have a suspension lift yet.. :( so yours is more than likely taller than mine.
@Vacmasterthegreat As far as I know of, No. Jim Wolf Technology sells a cone filter though which is very good. You could try that. Most people just build their own, "cold air" intake on these.
I got lucky and find mine the classifieds online. Bought it for $27. It had almost all the mounting hardware. There was no name on the brush guard that I've found.
Yeah they are pretty easy to take apart, several screws and that's about it. I have had good luck the junk yard ones, last time I looked up a new instrument cluster it ran like $120+. I got the junk yard one for around 15.
It reads 30mph on the hwy and 0 on the streets. I guess my next step is to remove the instrument cluster and see if maybe I can clean the connection(s) and tighten any loose screws? Thanks for the idea! If I had to replace, should I buy new or used from the salvage yard?
I have a 95 pathfinder with a faulty speedometer, I've replaced the vss (vehicle speed sensor) is still not reading correctly, any one with this experience?

will those tires fit on my 1990 nissan hardbody 4wd 4cyl? I want some that stick outwards a little as opposed to flush with the body. Also i think that is the perfect grill guard for it.
I have an 88 pathfinder stock, what are the basics that i need to start with to get mine looking like this? I'm not looking to replace the motor b/c it is in good shape. Mostly just need to know what to do to lift it and is it possible to swap out the A/T for a manual?
Man..I can not find that brush guard anywhere. I saw one at a Junkyard that was on an oversized Dodge Ram...but it was bent and welded to the front bumper.
Replaced with a used one I ordered from ebay. Not too bad removing and changing the cluster, the hardest part was rolling back the mileage from the one I ordered, it had way more than the original miles. Hey, thanks for your help.
awesome truck dude. that thing is bad ass. i have a red stock 93 with aftermarket rims and 31x's on it. im going to put an exhaust on mine this summer. there great vehicles.
@@robertcartwright1408 it came factory on the SE models. Depending on where you are most 90-95 pathfinders have them. XE models had them sometimes but not always. It has no brand besides nissan as far as I know of. No tags on it.
Sik ride man, ditch that air box and go with a cone man it`ll breath better. is that a body or suspension lift? See that thing in the mud then post it!!!
