Second obstacle - Tire abuse - Could barely hear my spotter - made bad choices - still made it - luck wins the day RU-vid VIDEO STABILIZATION SOFTWARE WAS IN BETA AT THE TIME
I know the Nissan R51 Pathfinder isn't the best 4x4 or rock crawler. This video proves that. It is a great trail rig that can rack up miles and carry your gear. RIP the real Pathfinder.
Thanks. I love my PF. Not the best rock crawler in the world but still nice to drive everyday. The tires are Goodyear Wrangler Duratracs at 265/75 R16. Skids came from Skidrow Offroad. No chips or engine mods at this time.
I have a full PRG Products lift. It's perfect. The Duratracs have a tall tread so they are a little less accurate for straight line driving on the road. They are very quiet for how aggressive the tread pattern is. They really perform nicely for how gnarly the look. I am buying another set soon.
Hi James ! Awesome vid. Seen it before. So u have a 3 inch prg full lift. Please give me the details. I have a 09 4x4. I put a 2.5 inch coil spacer right when I got it to level up the low front and since then iv found out what a cheap not functional mod this is. My vdc/ slip light has come on since lifting. So my vdc and traction control is off now. And going over speed bumps there is metal to metal contact . So I realized its crap. Been looking for a good lift. Please give details on your PRG 3 inch. It would be much appreciated. Thanks man
That's mostly true. Slower is generally better. However my generation of Pathfinder doesn't have real locking differentials. I have to give it a lot of gas in order to engage my traction control. It's not the best 4x4 for trails like this.
Justin Moore Thanks it's a Garvin Industries/Wilderness Rack sport basket. It comes with flush mounting tracks that have to be fastened to the roof. You can't reuse the old mounting points so you have to seal them up with silicone. It's quite the process. took me about 2.5 hrs to install and I've put a bunch of these on before. Here's my How To in a Pathfinder forum... www.thenissanpath.com/viewtopic.php?p=12851#12851
Looks nice man, nice driving too. I had a PRG Leveling Kit on my Frontier. Just bought a 2012 Pathfinder, love it. What size tires, if you don't mind? Where'd you get the skid plates? Do you run a chip or anything? Thanks.
swimmer8585 XTerra. It has a shorter wheelbase and a solid rear axle with better articulation. There are a lot more aftermarket goodies for the Xterra as well.
yeah since that post two years ago I change my mind. I ended up going with an old 2000 jeep cherokee. got 33 inch tires and a 4.5 inch lift and i love it
Strongly agree. I wanted to see what I could get away with in this thing. Got out with very slight body damage (that I don't mind at all) and zero mechanical issues.
