I rarely comment on videos on RU-vid but had to post just so anyone else that encounters this same issue knows how crucial this video was to locating and fixing the heater resistor issue for a total novice like myself. Unhooking the grey wire clips was equally as awkward as getting into the correct contortion to unscrew everything but without seeing this video I may never have even attempted this fix. I was quoted £700 to fix this problem from Nissan and ended up spending £21 and an uncomfortable 30 mins of my life and resolved the issue successfully, I'm grinning from ear to ear now!
Thank you so much for the video, it showed me exactly where to go and gave me the confidence to buy the part (a clone with the same model number) on ebay and have a go. My only trick to add is that to retain the screw in your driver to add a bit of tape around it and the driver, then you can go in pretty blind at the end knowing it won't fall off. Beats a bit of magnetism for tight jobs like this. I've never even changed a car battery but our blower was acting up so gave this a go. With total thanks to Fraser Sandison I didn't have to spend more than 30 mins and £25 on this problem. Really appreciate you making the video and sharing it for us on here.
I had a very similar issue, my air pressure would work only on maximum or minimum, if I set the level to anything in between the fan would cut out and blow at minimum only. Nissan were looking ~130 + VAT for this part and labour probably would have brought this close to 200. Thanks to this video I was able to do the replacement myself for around 25, legend! Thank you
Large hands are not going to make this an easy job, had to do a fair bit of it by touch but being able to view the position of the resistor pack and the plugs as well as watch the video makes it all the more "doable"! £30 fix plus an hr of bad temper and language Vs dealer price of a part that is listed at nearly £100 plus labour so well worth the patience and effort AND the fix works. Suspect that the issue might also sit with the fan motor too - if it gets a bit "tight" then its likely to cause the problem with the resistor pack however if this fix works and lasts over 6 months I'll be happy - if it goes again then I'll replace the blower motor and the pack which for pattern parts is roughly £60 if you shop around.
Hi fella, My 67 plate qashqai blowers are on max power no matter what even when you turn it off, everything else works fine - temp,AC, and dual climate control but fans are always on max power - do you think this will be the fix I need?
My heater at the front has pushed back. So the circular dial and the vents aren't sitting flush. I have taken the front of to pull forward the unit but every time I put the front frame back on it pushes back again. Help
When you had the faulty resistor in was you able to change the fans speed to max? I’ve got this issue where I I put fans on max no matter what they don’t speed up.
Hello, great video, i have two issues can you maybe help? So first thing is when the climate control is set to 16°c its blowing out warm air rather than the cool air you would expect at 16°c, when i put it down to LO it goes cold fine. Second issue is with the AC turn on and on LO setting the recirculation button keeps stopping and working again when its on ac working fine when its off it doesnt feel like the ac is on and goes warmer again. Are you able to advice if this is also the blower resistor? Ive been to halfords and asked them to check the ac gas and its giving them and error so they cant do anything else.
