My 2013 started smelling like shit ,with carpet wet under passenger seat sucked ac drain out with a shop vac ,and just checked and cleaned the drains, now to pull the passenger seat and clean the carpet wat a pain in da ass lol
Tools Needed for 2015 Nissan Versa: 1) Flat head screw driver 2) Socket Wrench with 9/16th socket - Use the flat head to pry open the cover over the windshield wipers - Use the socket wrench to take off the windshield wiper nut fasteners (adjustable spanner did not work for me) - Pull off the windshield wipers (might need to tug a decent bit) - Use the flat head to pry off the clips holding the cowl on (there are little grooves where you should start the flat head...once you find those they come off fairly easily) - Take off the cowl (watch out for the hose, I didn't need to disconnect mine) - Clean out the debris - Put everything back together in reverse order
Thank you for posting this, I appreciate you showing how to fix the leak problem, It was fairly easy. now I can dry out the interior and get rid of the wet dog smell without cat litter :-)
Thanks for showing us this. My mother’s car is leaking and you’re the first video I watched on this topic and problem solved. You’re the man, cheers bud!
Yes this mysterious thing is happening to me right now!! I thought it was my gallon of emergency water under the seat leaking but I threw it away and did tons of work to dry it out and it was full of water again the next week. Mystery solved!
Just had this happen to one of 2 versas. Thankfully insurance covered one as a complete loss. Your video helped me get the other one squared away. I appreciate it.
Where are the lawyers at? This needs to be a class action lawsuit. My 2018 versa has the same damn problem. Had carpets replaced at my insurance and my expense. Dealer trying to gaslight me into saying I drove through high water. Uh, no, car just parked during a rain. Less than two months later my brand new carpets are soaked and moldy smelling again. This is a manufacturer error!
Thank you for posting this video!!! Just finished doing this today, fingers crossed that it last for a while. Can't believe so many models of Nissans have had this flaw for years..
9/13/20 2015 Versa liftback Note. Noticed back car seat was wet a few days ago. After a car wash and a torrential storm. Today mold all over seats, floor soaked esp under passenger seat but back bench seat is wet. Everything in car was wet, glove compartment contents - everything. There are always a lot of leaves on that housing/windshield wipers. What a stupid place to put drains! Thank you for this. I hope that’s what happened. But the mold on my seats will be another fun problem. My window gasket on rear L door is loose. I bet water has been getting in there. I can fit my finger and feel metal. It’s always something. 🙃
Omg I think this is what happened to my 2013 versa. We had tons of water recently and I had GALLONS of water in my car. Got most of the water out with a shop vac and used cat little in cheap pillowcases to soak up excess.
It’s so annoying to have this happen. It smells absolutely terrible, and it turns anything that it touches brown. Especially paper. I hope that I will be able to fix it soon because it’s horrible.
@@goodlifetony DOne and done, went exactly like your guide suggested. Minor issue was some of the clips cracked, but enough are fine to hold it back in. Sure enough, the drains were horribly clogged . Blew them out and made sure water could run in without issue. Hopefully that is it for my flooding issue! Kind of a stupid design by Nissan IMO, but what can you do. I had it parked under a tree uphill, so I think it got clogged up and the water went right into the valve.
I have a 2015 Nissan Versa Note. I am having water flood my passenger side when it rains. I recently had my radiator flushed and filled. Also had new wiper blades put in. Would appreciate your insight.
I’m having the same issues with a Nissan Versa Note 2014 flooding in car due to a clogged cowl drain. Now Nissan is saying I’m having having electrical issues because this . Happened less than a week. Quote they gave was almost 8,000 dollars.
I just got a quote from Dealer for 600!!! They said it took them two days to find the clog and it’s not the first clog thru thought it was it’s another one. I’m freaking out. My car is now moldy. Mold remediation
Mold is $350 to get out from Mold remediation company. They had the car two days, never called me. I called repeatedly. Last night quote was 200 Give or take. Should I just be there at 8am and tell the to stop? Find a shade tree mechanic to blow it out with a compressor hose?
@@goodlifetony thank you so much for making and posting this video!! It was super easy to take all this off and reassemble it, and now I can even replace my own air filter!! Cheers!
Thanks for the video. Followed the instructions. Had a tome with the clips. Drain was clogged with dirt and leaves. Cleaned the drains. You were very helpful. You should do a video on how to change the cabin filter.
