It feels like a lot of car companies don't realize (until it's too late) that, although upmarket shoppers BUY the cars, enthusiasts help SELL cars. Hellcats get people into the seats of Charger SXTs and Hornets. S2000s and Type-Rs help get more butts in the Civic. The GTI & Type-R helps sell the Golf/Jetta. Porsche sells Macans and Cayennes like Dasani in a desert BECAUSE they mimic the 911. Regular people who think the cars are cool, are worth more than 100 super bowl commercials.

Wow! Finally someone said what needed to be said. I was SO hoping that Nissan would have put out a more basic, back to its roots lighter Z. It would have sold so much in volume. Maybe priced above a Mazda MX5 and below a Supra. But alas, we get a heavy, old chassis, old tech car. Looks good though. Wished Nissan had more development money. 😕

No way. Soaring cars prices are ok (i guess) for luxury brands (frankly, bigger wallets don't care) Nissan ain't got it like that. Absurdly insulting.

With that said i agree about prices but why single out Nissan? Every performance vehicle is overpriced these days.

I agree that everything is too expensive, I did mention the Dark Horse. But I focused on Nissan here since I was in the Z and it sparked the rant.

Can we get a Nismo version without the black roof???? And rear bumper, would be more classic with all white . I am sure next GR86 will be more expansive

On one hand I did buy an X3 M40i over a Nissan Z but it was also for my wife but even still I’d probably find another way to spend $70k. But theory of people buying SUVs over sports cars confirmed lol

I drove the new NISMO Z; AT was underwhelming compared to other paddle shift sport vehicles. Power is fun and has ton of grip (ahem, albeit summer tires). I'll stay with my '16 NISMO 370 Z for now.

Here’s my issues. No manual. No adjustable suspension. Too expensive for what you get. It’s a 55k car.

I honestly think Nissan is secretly working on a nismo revised manual gearbox. There is no way, they would put it in the base model and not the nismo. Everyone knows that is the worst idea in the history of enthusiast cars. It's probably a marketing stunt to bring back the hype to the nissan z in the future.

I bought my ZL1 1LE for $61k new I bought my C7 Grand Sport for $58k new I bought my SS 1LE for $41k new What the frig has happened? Holy crap!

@@catsaretasty -Actually, I sold that SS 1LE for exactly what I paid for it and bought the ZLE, then sold that for a $5k profit for the C7 that was 12k under sticker.
