Appreciate the comments, newer camera hence beamshots are much more realistic now as I can use a very fast lens and also adjust the contrast to match as much as I can what I see
What's a hlove test? I'm getting into the 3ms JetBeam for a tactical torch it can take 3 types of battery and it's got a pretty nice beam patern. Review is up very soon!
Excellent review! I really enjoy those beam shots. I have been looking for a new torch that has some good throw to compliment my Olight S2R II. It's primary use would be for hiking, camping and general outdoor use? So far, I've narrowed it down to the Nitecore MH12GT/GTS, P12GT/GTS, MH25GTS, MH20/GT and the Olight M2R. Which one do you think is the better light? Is there another brand that I should consider? Thanks!
Range is pretty good quite a bit more than the S2RII (which is more EDC) I like it a few places to tweak I think as mentioned. I also like the MH25GTS nice range that's one of the nicest ones I've used to date. MH23 makes a nice pocket thrower another good option very nice light. Warrior is easy to use more spread out beam. Hope that helps a bit
hey there really nice review, keep up the good work! Just wanted to ask you something regarding nitecore flashlights, am looking to buy a flashlight for fishing, basically all i need is 1)very good beam distance 2)and extremely good battery life, if you dont mind that am asking which flashlight would you recommend to me? Thanks a lot!
Best to watch this it has suggestions for different types of light. Too many variables to be specific ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-4D3xZ39BjZY.html IMO you don't need an ultra long range light for fishing
I just added the link as it's the only one I found from suppliers, but I can add more it is a bit pricey though I'm not sure if you can get the discount or without the battery
it seems to me that they always get something wrong haha. i mean just make a MH25GTS with a 21700 (5000 mha battery) with fast charging and i'm sure 99% of ppl will buy this as a tactical light! but i guess they don't want a comeback. all their new lights are super average...like something is always missing. around 8 hours of charging is very very slow. anyway good review as always!
They always do charging speed is slow, design is OK however I'm never happy with most torches in some way. I do have a 3Ms in from JetBeam again not perfect (lacks shortcuts) but the 21700 is there and it hits a bit more range, 5 power levels that's coming in at 1A charging, could be a bit faster for a 21700 but acceptable just about. It's a better torch overall v this IMO, review on that and TH20 coming up soon. Don't know if they will update this I hear once in a while from Nitecore, not as much as I used to
@@MrBazReviews i wish that i could give these companies some ideas but w/e haha they won't listen to a random guy. i mean they put firefly/ultra low 1 lumen modes without direct access to them. Here is some functions i would LOVE to have: 1 Lumen Ultra Low - 150 Low - 350 Med - 800 High - 1600 Turbo with similar Candela to MH25GTS. 1.When light is off - Hold Side Switch for Ultra Low 1 lumen (Not included in Memory Mode). Full Press Tail Switch to Turn off the light. 2.When light is off - 1 Click Side Switch to turn on "Memory Mode". Then Click Side Switch to go from Lower to Higher. Full Press Tail Switch to Turn off the light. 3.When light is off - Full press Tail Switch for Turbo, then Half Press Tail Switch to go from Turbo to High and lower. Full Press Tail Switch to Turn off the light. Basically the 2 buttons do not interfere with each other except that Tail Switch always turns off the light from any state and from off its always Turbo. You could even throw in some Strobe fun with Double pressing the Side Switch or something but i don't really care about Strobe. This with a fast charging 21700 battery is a dream i guess haha.
@@georgepanta9704 It's worth a try but I don't think these makers listen to anyone that much. I did try with a few, Olight went exactly the opposite direction I suggested (I told them to ditch the custom batteries), now they use them in almost every product. Nitecore I told don't do built in batteries or custom cells, again they're not really taken that onboard either. Though they're not as bad as Olight. I just give a run down on things as I see it, they can take it or leave it as far as critique goes it's there to help buyers, but I stopped worrying about trying to improve things. There are very few torches I would buy myself, maybe that's because I'm super picky! Same for a lot of products not just torches. I guess the only way to really nail it is if you could start your own company and spec the products as you want. Would be an uphill struggle for torches so many out there. Thanks for the thoughts though maybe someone might stumble across it!
Tricky the Nitecore is more "tactical" classic design, v the Olight I'm not crazy about the side switch but it has a nice beam range wise. Have a look at the Olight review and see which one appeals more
That's the theoretical run time at turbo with the battery, all lights of this size drop down in power they have to or they over heat. You'll get a bit longer in really cold conditions but not that much. Only way around it is a much much larger body to get rid of the heat
@@MrBazReviews I have 1200 lum. 1x18650 EDC's that maintain the max. output roughly as claimed by the manufacturers. This is false advertising imo even if they put _"*The runtime for TURBO mode is tested without the temperature regulation."_ in microscopic text on their website, as it's not possible to disable it.
@@the_game Hence the reason I show the drop down test on all the lights but it does vary on temperature. There is no way a light this size and with 1800lm output can sustain turbo with no dropdown unless the body is much larger or some assistance ie fan (again larger). It's just not possible unless they create more efficient LED technology. Some drop downs are subtle you may not notice and 1200lm isn't 1800lm the drain is quite a bit at that level
@UCBVtpOSshIcQr6fnGmGw4RQA lot of makers don't even mention the drop down or where it goes to, some do (Olight) so yes it can be misleading sadly. Appreciate the comment just pointing out the limitations of high power lights in small bodies something has to give models like the TM10K are at the extreme end (very short turbo). Big lumens is marketing to be honest it's not the most important aspect to me
@@MrBazReviews I'm not disputing the thermodynamics behind it (I'm an engineer by trade myself). Of course an XHP35 @ 1800 LM in a tiny housing like that won't be able to sustain that brightness for a long time. What rubs me the wrong way is that by not specifying that explicitly on their website they must be taking everyone for idiots. Instead of _"TURBO: 30 min"_ it should say _"TURBO: 1,5 min"_ . Theoretical values like that are totally misguiding. As for your reviews sir they are excellent!
I've not used the MH27UV so hard to say from the spec the MH27 has less output but a longer range indicated a tighter beam based on that. The MH25 as a pretty good range obviously will give more spread depends what you want
I covered the MH12GTS in this video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-XxfwzPPNl4c.html The 25GTS is more a traditional tactical style light, compared to the more EDC type that is the MH12GTS. Down to what you prefer really
