Nitrorcx Guide: Two Speed Transmission Breakdown, Disassembly, Adjustments 

There should be about 4 screws that holds the transmission to the frame, once you take off those 4 screws the transmission should slide out of the frame of the truck.

The nut that holds the spur gear on it is left hand thread, hold the spur and turn the nut clockwise and it will take the nut off.

There is a spring or bolt that holds the exhaust manifold to the engine, take that off and the exhaust will come off.

Check to see if there is anything binding on the drive train on your vehicle.

What a great video… can I ask, if that grub screw comes out by accident will the spring fall out as well?

Hi nitrorcx. I bought the forza and have been having a problem with the transmission. I used one of your videos to take it out and check it. Nothing was worn out and everything was in good condition. The only problem is it wasn't shifting onto second gear. I used this video to adjust the tension and now the car wheels lock when I'm in mid driving. Did I adjust the wrong nut? My gear mesh is set perfectly but I also tightened the brakes but like I said it was running fine so I'm guessing it isn't

Great vid! Just got a Tornado S30 a week ago, my 3rd nitro. I was wondering if you can explain how a burned up 2nd gear and 1st is still mint? I'm thinking engine/clutch bell placement, but i've hardly hit 2nd, it had a hard time changing gears. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

@MrModzEverything The Mad Storm has a single speed transmission and you can't adjust it.

So this mean's that my car in in second gear because both spin.but they both spin at the same time even if the engine is not even running can you help and tell me whats wrong. GREAT VIDEO

Hello. may I ask for help please. I have a two speed clutch which grabs a pin on the gear, to shift to second gear. However I am not sure which way round to install the clutch. You would think common sense says the lever should fly out with the leading edge in the direction of rotation, but surely if the second gear is already spinning faster (as it is connected to a larger pinion gear) , it will simply push the lever back in, as it will brush the back edge of the lever. so my question is - Should the clutch be installed with the leading edge of the lever (the bit that comes out) facing into the direction of rotation, or away from the direction of rotation. - Thank you

i had a car for over 10 years that would never shift, when it was new couldnt even rotate the spur gear to adjust it, it was locked from moving....well it turns out the adjustment screw backed itself out and jammed second gear on all the time, i had to take it all apart and put it back together now its fine, but i never seen anyone mention this so if you cant even adjust it make sure your grub screw isnt out from vibration

What about if it doesn't want to move at all and just revs up? All the screws are in place as far as I can tell. There's no damage to anything that I can see. I have a forza, Brand new. Ran 2 tanks and it just started revving and only catches every once in a while under very low throttle.while the weight of the car is on it. But if I pick it up, It works fine.

Does temperture effect the 2 speed transmission to the point to have to re-tune it?

yeah i got to where the piece where the gear box is i cant get the front and rear bones out of the box to slide it out to open it

waaitttt how can the small pinion gear be idle if it sets on the clutch bell. i mean when you put the transmission the large pinion gear sets on the small gear on the clutch bell and the small pinion gear on the transmission sets on the large of the clutch bell. so how can it be idle??

The manuel says its the two way drive clutch that im talking about. Im missing that middle grub screw, will that not make my forza drive? I dont even know if it had one i just bought it from nitrorcx a lil over a month ago...but all it does is rev and the gears are meshed perfectly, plz help.

Can any one help me I have a Ofna dm1 spac and this isn't the Frist time this happen the 2 gear stripped out. I thing the Gap was too much but not 100 sure. But how do I gap them right and prevent this from happening again. Bc parts are really hard to come bye with this car. I'm running 48 t and 44t on stock ratio and 17t 21t with is 1 tooth larger than the stock pinion gears I don't believe that would do this but if so let me know

I really don't understand it, the bell off the engine has 2 gears fixed together meshed with 2 gears on my shaft and they all move together in tandom, there is no one gear running or the other. Either my set up is wrong or my mind blown

that 1st part was utter bullshit both gears are spinning because there both being driven by the clutch bell and once rpm is high enough the arm grabs the gear and the 2nd gear grabs the centrifugal arm and then the 2nd gear drives the center drive train. There u go, The CORRECT tutorial in 50 words.
