Agree. No just that. Some of us are doing the job of a teacher, acting as subs or TAs with less than 1/2 of the pay due to all these requirements that make no sense.
I’m from New Jersey and in college, but New Jersey teaching requirements are ridiculous four years bachelors degree, and by the board of education classroom experience, and other stuff, too, makes it impossible for teachers and the pay is not worth it
The basics were easy the Core’s we’re harder. A solution would be to let the school pick the teacher upon the score. That way the inspiring teacher can finish their cert., and work on getting the score that the school requires. Some of the best test takers are the worst teachers and can’t even relate to the students.
Some of those are VERY easy fixes. Administrators don't need six figure salaries. Especially Higher up admins who typically have never seen the inside of a classroom, and often vote to lower teacher salaries and benefits, limit how much paras and subs can make, eliminate pensions, and yet still find time to give themselves raises. Take that away from them :D
