Great hit of all times of the Sound Makers Bank lead by Chief Osita Osadebe, the King of Highlife. You are greatly appreciated for the good work you did while alife. May your soul continue to rest in peace.
Music indeed is a universal language..My step dad use to play this when I was in my teens.I am a Ghanaian.Dont understand a word but I am the happiest woman alive .
In 1976 December, my brother's send off party he left Nigeria in January of 1977 to the USA can still see my dad dancing to this tune you can o imagine how sorry I was thinking he is going far fara away, we are lucky he built us up financially
Nkengas in London is one of the most uplifting, instrumental and well composed music ever produced by Chief Stephen Osita Osadebe. The musical icon and legend is still living on via his barrage of beautiful and lovely musics. RIP Chief Osadebe. Prof. Francis Osita Onukwuli
@@sopulumichael708 Who owns it, then? I'm also confused about this especially because the title says "Nkengas in London" but the vocals is that of Osadebe. Abi no be him voice be that?
@@theophilusonyukwu7226 . It's Osadebe's song but hijacked by some of his band members led Okoroego Vincent. The band had disagreement while on Tour in London.
This is one of my favourite high life albums of all time. My dad used to play it in the good old days when I was just six. The sweet memories of it has remained with me ever since. Now as a musician myself, I appreciate it more because I can virtually feel every single note from every piece of musical instrument in the recording. The Rhythm is something else. The trumpeter and lead guitarist are outstanding. In general, the musicianship of the entire band is just awesome.
l grew up listening to this in the 70's in Nigeria. Never thought I will sit here 47yrs later in England listening to Super Nkengas. Thanks to technology I feel like I am back in 9ja. Well done to those who made this possible.
I have been looking for this album for over twenty years! Remember my Dad playing this song when we were kids and it was one of my favorites! The nostalgia I feel right now finding it is unmatched. God bless you for finding this true highlife gem and sharing it!
You are quite right Ime so do i sitting here in USA listening to my youthful lovable Nigerian highline music makes me also feel being at home.Time have changed so fast and some of these artists have passed away but their music lives on.Atbtimes it brings tears to my eyes very emotional situation, I tell ya. .....
Music is an inheritance. One a Father can pass to his children. My Dad played all these songs when we travel from Northern Nigeria to the East for Christmas. #Osili
These is one of my best songs of all time "CHUKWU EMEKA OMAMBALA" I love this track to the extent that I played it repeatedly each time i get into my vehicle and home for over one month. And I am sure I will never get tired of listening to it anytime and any place......To his blessed memory CHIEF OSITA OSADEBE. Continue to rest in peace.
A great inspirational music that accompanied me in my youth. My biggest ♥ company too in my moment's of solitudine in ltaly . A legend may he rest in peace and his memories be a blessings.
My dad Play most of his collections, while I was growing up. Now, I cool my nerves with Osadebe songs.. Is songs are Amazing.. Legend lives on. Osankwa Special.
I see. Is that why this album is nowhere to be found on streaming services? My dad had the album but I can’t find it online. Especially the first song (it’s dancing time). The downloads have it at the end of Anaedo Special…..
Point of correction bro. It wasn't stolen. Osadebe and some of his lead instrumentalist had money sharing agreement issue and it wasn't resolved, then Vincent Okoroego of the renown Ikenga super stars and other band members opted out of osadebes band and formed theirs there in London and released this album they co-wrote and produced together with Osadebe, So this music property is owned by Ikenga super stars of Africa and not Osadebe.
@@slimdok3804. Bro it was stolen. Osadebe even addressed the issue in one of his albums and referred to Ikenfa as oke (rat) for rats do not keep whatever is entrusted to to them ("amazim ni ibu oke, oke ada echedo ife fa ye nye chedo")
@@slimdok3804: Yes Osadebe was duped by His band members after London tour. They replaced osadebe’s name in this album released in London with Ikenga super star behind his back. By the time Osadebe realized what was going on it was too late.
