I don’t see how what he’s doing is zesty fr. Especially knowing his brother is gay, seems like he’s genuinely supporting the community & trying to reciprocate the love. People have gay friends that they’re very comfortable around. Weird conversation
It’s very zesty and bizarre for a man who’s straight to go teasing gay men bouncing around, emulating sex, pelvic thrusting as you perform hyper sexual rap music. Then when a real one pulls your “straight” card you wanna assault them or gtfo during an interview when asked questions about what you’re putting out there.
me personally. i think that the statement of choppa being zesty, or gay is a stretch. yes, lyrics stating he'd want to do things to himself if he was in a separate, female body seems weird to most people, but that doesn't hint to anything gay. nle uses the specification "bad b----", which is sadly only used to describe women. also, nle simply showing love to the LGBTQ community does not make him gay, at all, so i also don't understand where that narrative comes from. overall, i see a black man who's fond of the way he is, the same he stated himself in his tweet, nor should he be called a homosexual for simply showing love to a community that heavily rocks with one of his songs.
Tbh just because you know someone’s gay doesn’t mean you HAVE to be uncomfortable around them. You can exist in the same space and it doesn’t have to be awkward
He’s not saying being around them is uncomfortable he’s saying that NLE is a straight male going to perform a song where he humps the air while saying he would wanna have sex with himself to a bunch of gay men who might want him.
Agree and disagree but scenario depends. you could know one cool gay dude and y’all never do anything, like you said no awkward shit.. Then you could know a different dude who acts cool with you but got hidden intensions with you. The nigga with intentions against bro is EXTREMELY UNCOMFORTABLE TO BE AROUND
Gay- sexually or romantically attracted to people of one's own sex (used especially of a man). I think y’all need to stop changing the definition of things. It’s flamboyance, not gay… society has this image on how men are supposed to look and act, so when a guy live within society norms it’s seen as “gay” which is a childish mindset.
Literally. I also question why yassine mentions how it should affect his street cred like G don’t need to be in the streets he made it at like 16 so I would assume yassine is talking bout the rap game but at the same time that’s changed too . I don’t really think your going to lost important feature just because you comfortable with lgbtq people
This mf aint gay, relax, he chilling, making money and hittin females. It’s not that serious😂, yall reaching just a bit, just keep with jokes and leave the allegations.
I just think NLE Choppa is corny, he has no brand whatsoever and this is further proof of it. Remember his whole peaceful route in 2020 tht lasted for like a month and a half?
I mean shit I work at an EDM venue in San Francisco and let me say, the support from the gays in dance music and stuff of that sort is huge, gay guys are an easy door for male dominated trends to bleed into womens pop culture, if bro performs a song for the gays, they turn it into a sort of an anthem, girls of all sorts now have eyes on NLE who isn’t necessarily within their usual sphere of influenced and once he gets the girls listening like that, he’s made it into mainstream culture, and most importantly, the clubs
I didn't know that. That's shitty. I don't see anything emasculating about what he's said and done either. I can't believe he said it's manipulation and gaslighting that's wild. @@mindworm7689
Thank GOD! SOMEONE FINALLY SAID IT! Why TF does being comfortable with your sexuality/masculinity as a man mean you gotta start wearing a dress/painting nails and acting zesty?! I swear Hollywood used to makes actors wear dresses to normalize it (Terry crews multiple times, Marlon Wayans white chicks, Robin williams Mrs. Doubtfire) Then Young Thug kept the movement going for the young kids today by wearing dresses painting nails etc.
NLE isn't wrong fam. If the LGBT demographic is big in helping his song grow the way it did then what's wrong in showing them some appreciation by giving them a show?. He's right. Majority of yall who got a problem with it is only because you aren't secure in yourself. You don't have to be gay to acknowledge gay ppl are ppl too
I feel like NLE is just being a positive person and I think his argument around 3:50 is just that being kind to people in general and not just hating people because they are “others” is a mentality that does nothing beneficial for anyone. In rap/gang culture you could say that hating the “ops” doesn’t benefit anyone, just causing violence and while LGBTQ is not the same thing as a gang rivalry, why not promote something positive than some negative
NLE: “ they said it wouldn’t work! ” No buddy they said it was very much gay 😂😂😂 I’m convinced he’s a bisexual man and ain’t none wrong with it. He either gay or a got female ghost writers atp. A straight man is not rolling his head and hips on stage vouging. The industry has closeted gays /gay for pay people , which don’t make any sense giving the fact being apart of the LGBT community is celebrated. If he came out I don’t think he’s career would be negatively affected so embracing the zesty is a win for him.
(Yap session) If choppa thought he was emasculating himself by making the song to prove he’s secure in his sexuality then he might have some deeper issues going on, but if he just made the song and thought it was funny and sounded good, put it out and then the lgbbq was the ones showing the most love then it is what it is really. I cannot speak on any of his actions going forward because I’m pretty sure he’s gonna start doing some sus shit to prove that point, but I don’t think the song within itself is emasculating, can it be? Yes. But I don’t think that’s the way he intended it to come off but that’s the way it can be perceived. It’s really just how you look at it, I like the song it’s funny as hell and it’s catchy as shit every time I see the nigga face I just start singing it so he did his job 🤷🏾♂️
Talking about emasculation coming from the guy that makes money off of gossiping about other men, as well as worrying about another man's image to the point where he comments on how said male celebrity would look to other male celebrities if he was caught next to a flag.
This is a terrible video. Saying NLE shouldn’t do what HE wants to do in his music just because of some hypothetical future “beef” he may or may not get into is incredibly ignorant. Hate to break it to you but black hip hop artist aren’t just getting into random beefs with each other every other day. I know we all just watched Kendrick and Drake but that’s not what hip hop is about 24/7. It’s about expressing yourself in an artists way however you want. Try again tomorrow bruh
you argue about the "being secure about your masculinity" thing as if the people that use that talking point imply that for you to be masculine or secure in your masculinity you need to emasculate yourself. i don't think anybody is saying that for you to show your masculinity you need to be subversive with it and get zesty. i don't think that's their point, i think that angle is just a response to the people that see something wrong with being zesty and more feminine as if it negates their own masculinity.
4:10 I've been asking this question for years. It's never made sense to me that the criteria for being secure in your masculinity is doing whatever emasculating thing it is others want you to do.
Just being around all that zesty shit is uncomfortable and annoying.. And people use that as reason to claim you're secretly in the closet? It's wild how you need to act gay to be "comfortable with your sexuality"
Choppa not gay, the song is hilarious and fits his goofy persona. keep with the jokes, leave the allegations. There’s nothing on the shelf where yall reaching.
It’s embarrassing when mfs say someone is acting zesty. First of all who gives a fuck and also if they are then again who gives a fuck. Big middle school type conversations lol
@@stephen1649you care about other adults have sex with each other? Who is forcing you to think about that? Yeah in the real world you don’t have weirdo conversations like ‘is he gay’. In the real world your scared ass doesn’t say shit
TBH, NLE Choppa would be setting himself up for becoming an icon within that community. That song would be associated with it and there’d be no turning back if it becomes too much for him
nah this is a bad take bro respectfully its a difference between being a business man for brand purposes and being a business man just for the bread, NLE don't got that much pull in his name to make the money considered to be good for generation passively with the lifestyle he living, every artist ain't the same just like Pac had to prioritize his music for women because that's who supported him the most, NLE Support system is majority of the LGBTQ it don't make him Zesty it makes him smart if he knows thats where most of his money is coming from and that's why he still here after 5 years, he knows when and who to capitalize on and to not repeat failing methods used by other mid artists
This honestly a bad take, he really ain’t doing anything zesty tbh. Like what did he do that was gay besides defend his take and his masculinity? Like you that’s gay now? To defend yourself as a man and just fw the people thats fw you? Like bro just sold out Madison square garden, and I may not like the song but ain’t nothing he doing is gay.
THANK YOU Im tired of people saying Im insecure because I dont like doing allat "homiesexual jokes/activity" Just because I dont engage in non-masculine stuff doesnt mesn Im insecure thsnkyou Yassine, more people need to be like this
This was an L take, I doubt you complained abt Young Thug when he Was wearing dresses etc calling his homies his lover etc. but you’re going in on NLE for being comfortable in his sexuality?? He’s clearly talking abt women in the song, who cares who he performs it to?
Now I will say, you do 100 PERCENT HAVE TO BE SECURE in your masculinity to do shit people dont think is masculine, and still be comfortable while doing so. But that's with anything, I think we all know the most controversial thing a person can do is be themselves.
The fact that men are getting mad just proves his point I don’t think he is in the closet and it’s not really my business I’m glad he giving back doesn’t matter to who and I don’t think he gay he is spittin facts and is smart asf 😭😭😭😂
That was my exact same thoughts. I could see if he was talking about sleeping with men or wearing skirts, makeup ect in the song or during live performances. Then I could understand his point but all he did was say thank you to the lgbt community and say he thinks he's attractive in a song and somehow that makes him gay? Heterosexual male rap fans have some of the worst takes when it comes to men being anything other then hyper masculine
@@utrippin7486 and to make things worse half of those men have the absolute worst taste in music 😭. Music taste be as bland as a dollar tree frozen cheeseburger but wanna have the audacity to criticize other artist
I get you do give your opinion on trendy topics but this is kind of a topic that’s questionable in the first place (like why does it matter if he tryna go perform at a pride it ain’t 2008) and it seems you kinda ran with the people that brought up the dumb topic
