NLJ Celebrates World Book & Copyright Day 2021- Short Stories & Poetry

In recognizing World Book and Copyright Day under the theme "Read... so you never feel alone", the NLJ reached out to authors locally and within the diaspora to read an excerpt from their publications. This was well received and a video production reiterating the importance of reading was created.
Please watch and enjoy excerpts from publications of short stories and poetry which have been deposited at the National Library of Jamaica.

I want to take this opportunity to thank the National Library of Jamaica for including me, among many talented Jamaican authors to be a part of this celebration of books. I truly enjoyed listening to the stories, and appreciated the wisdom and perspective from our dignitaries. Everyone has a story. Let us keep sharing them. Blessings. Walk Good!

This is my first exposure to the NLJ and World Book Day. I am a new indie Jamaican diaspora author with my e-book and paper back titled HEZEKIAH about to be uploaded to Kindle and other online distributors as well as paper back. I particularly enjoyed the exhortation of the Minister of Culture because my 89 year old mother lives with me and reads a book a week. They are her best companions. Enjoyed the readings very much and look forward to sending a copy of my work to the NLJ shortly.
