You need to share this with neurologist, because if the MRI is normal, but the optic nerve shows atrophy and thinning, they send you on your merry way and cannot explain why your vision has not restored.
Hello doctor I suffered from ON in 2023 September and I am having immunosuppressant since then. My MRI was clear and NMO and MOG was negetive. Please suggest
I am an Indian (Aryan race) and am suffering with ON with MS since last 10 days and am on Steroid Medication, for the 1st 5 days I was at the hospital but am on medicine since today. 1. I had a Laser Barrage treatment done on my effected eye.. the visibility a then was 20% blurred from the bottom. 2. The vision worsened within 2-3 days and lost vision on my affected eye. The opthalmologist who conducted laser, scanned my eyes and reffered me to a Neurologist who diagnosed this situation. 3. Today I have received reports of NMO and MOG, both are Negative.. I'm so stressed. 🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺 *Sorry for grammatical errors, since only eye of my eye is functioning properly..
Hi thank you for explanation. I was tested for MS and came back negative. Got more labs done and it showed epstein barr virus and a marker for NMO was positive. However it wasn't diagnostic. I went to a different doctor to get a specific NMO test done and they called me to say it was negative. Perhaps I need to get that paperwork in hand. So I'm left confused and with symptoms.
Glad to have come across this. As a patient of who suffers from NMO, lesions on brain stem and spine. I am living with diplopia. I wish I saw you when I had my first attack. After being misdiagnosed, I had a second attack that has resulted in permanent disability. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with the world!
Thanks for this. :) What kind of other diseases looks like nmo? I have many things that looks like nmosd and are getting tretment for it, but they are not sure. I dont have the antibodies and unusual symtoms, mostly when i sleep. I had on and tm and permanent disability, but no sure diagnosis, but I do have brainlesions that looks more like nmo than ms.
