This guy had EVERYTHING. Bump n run, master of press coverage, physical beyond comparison, batting it down, sticking like glue. He was special. He just got greedy rather than go to a team with a scheme that fits his abilities.
Awesome video bro! Raiders for life cuz!! No one has been a shut down corner since Oakland's Nnamdi!! He is a true shutdown corner and he did it for a good amount of years. Tho he left us mad respect for him as a Cornerback and person.
Wish he never went to those GOD AWFUL Eagles. They ruin damn near everyone they get and they always quick to release they best players (Mccoy, Dawkins, etc) RAIDERS WEST COAST DUDE TILL I D.I.E.
Raiders let him go cuz he broke his wrist and he just wasn’t the same anymore but by far one of the elite shut down CB in all of the NFL , he didn’t run much back but he made sure you weren’t catching nothing while he’s guarding you .
@@loyal2thesoil412 no they didn't he wanted more money and he was tired of losing his last year with the raiders he was first team all pro and a pro bowler he went to the eagles and they tried to make him a zone corner when he is a man to man corner play press coverage
He was just so damn good in man to man coverage. It was a big deal when Larry Fitzgerald made a pretty big catch on him, and barely, but of course it was Larry Fitzfuckinggerald. Asomugha > Revis
He's my favorite CB of all time. When he's playing man in press-coverage, that WR he's playing against is X'd out already and opposing QBs is not going to even bother throwing at his window. A true island "X" CB is what my coach would call him. Too bad his weakness was exposed in Philly when he was required to play lots of off-coverage with cushions in their zone scheme. Nnamdi is not comfortable playing off because he lacks the quickness and reactions of an 5'10 CB because he's so tall and lengthy, so he needs to be upfront and physical so he can put his hands on the WR so he can keep them in check and in front of him to be at his best and comfort zone. Could've gone down as one of the greatest to play that position if he would've signed with the Jets and play with Revis when Revis invited him to come play with him in NY.], but Nnamdi followed where the money goes
Just image him an Charles Woodson playing both corners with the Raiders when they were younger!! shutdown corners right there an also great vid rt love ur vids
he's still a guaranteed HOFer. He's top 10 of all time. From 2007-2010 (4 seasons), he let up a total of 41 receptions and 1 touchdown. To give you an idea of how good that is: Revis is a top 5 corner of all time, but in his best 3 seasons (2008, 2009, and 2011) he let up a total of 125 receptions and 5 touchdowns. So revis, a top 5 shutdown corner of all time, let up 3 times the amount of receptions and 5 times the number of touchdowns in his best 3 seasons as asomugha did in his best 4.
In his last couple of years of his career with the Eagles, Nnamdi was playing on cruise control. I really don't think he wanted to leave the Raiders, but he had to get paid. The Raider Nation surely misses your talent in the secondary. I just hope D. Amerson turns into an awesome cover corner like you.
Amazing video like always Troy I wish he wouldn't have retired he was one of the best shutdown corners in the game now we need Dj Hayden to do the same.
Man, Carrie's already a baller. Hayden when he's not dealing with an injury can be a baller too. I believe in him. I want to see what McGill's got. He's a big guy and we could use big corners.
The real shut down corner. His best year he only gave up 8 completions the whole year. Davis Haden Revis Sherman Peterson will never have a season like that. Nnamdi in his prime was the best Shutdown Cornerback period. He could cover any reciever.
i wish we never got rid of him and had him go to the eagles though that was the worst now i feel like TJ Carrie yeah he's young but he's showing a lot of promise that he can be another Asomugha ik what i am saying could be crazy but he shows a lot of promise and a possible huge steal in the draft Raider Troy
Our #1 pick in the draft next year better be a Nnamdi clone. If we can get a shutdown CB, we will be tough to beat. Right now, we are strong everywhere except secondary. #RaiderNation
