Note: As I’m sure you can understand, recording loudspeakers in a less than ideal non recording studio, is doomed to fail. But I tried to give them justice through the recording I made, even if the room reverberation is poking in different directions. All in all I had such a great listening experience, and finding the company really interesting, so even with the less ideal recordings I decided to go through and release the video. I hope you get a decent impression anyways.

Yeah, loudspeakers really need to be heard in person, more than any other piece of gear. You could set up a bunch of speakers, rotating them thru the same spot, using the same pair of mics, and then try different mics, and then put the mics in different sweet spots, and then figure out a way to switch between the recordings (while you listen back in headphones or other loudspeakers that also color the sound, just like the mics and room did). Whereas, in person, you can judge just the loudspeakers and room (and it removes the microphone, mic placement, preamp, ADC/DAC, and headphones out of the comparison, versus video comparisons). Still, it's cool to learn a bit about the philosophy of this speaker company. That's the main benefit of the video, get to know them. The "down to 30Hz" speaker seems neat, but in sure they're spendy.

I have a pair of transmission line speakers (oldskool and pretty massive), and love the bass I hear from them. I'd really like to hear these in real life!

Very cool. Reminds me of going to CES and listening to the high end audio suites at the Venetian. All the best to NNNN and nice to see they are weathering the storms of past giving humans a chance to bounce.

You know its good because spent all the money on the speaker and had nothing left over for picking a name.

Bless. That company has never heard anything like that coming through their speakers.

The real sound system in the middle sounds the best. Was also a no brainer just from the looks. : D

White ones really suites your style doing even some natural equalization for the “money” frequencies. While the huge face is without a doubt a winner ) full and rich. Thank you for showing this. And zoom did a great job not catching ALL frequencies for sure but it gave overall experience and differences in the character of this great things. Thank you!

Ha ha, we’re just into the same stuff, I guess. Sometimes I think I should comment less. Like, who cares if I comment on a video? But sometimes I just can’t help myself 😅 Never botsified my presence in any way. Good to see you here old bean.

Does anyone know the price range of these?
@gadblatz4841
@gadblatz4841 10 месяцев назад
My assumption is in the $6-13,000 range for a single speaker.

If you get a binaural "fake head" recording setup it will help a lot with demos like this. Still sounded good though. Do you have links to any of the tracks played for the demo? Enjoyed the music.
@truecuckoo
@truecuckoo 10 месяцев назад
Yeah, it will help but if the room has unfavourable reverberation it will still contribute to a less desirable recording. It sounds good in context, but then when you're back out of context the audio will probably still bear a clear mark of that room. Aren't those heads crazy expensive though? Like in the $10.000 ballpark? Perhaps there are some budget alternatives. I will soon start dabbing with ambisonic mics too. Perhaps Røde's ambisonic mic would be nice for stuff like this.

@@truecuckoo there's a moderate price set, the 3DIO Free Space that the ASMR people use. Still about 400eur, and I always thought it sounded a little thin/brittle. They have a better one, the Free Space Pro II, but it's ... > 2k eur :/

@@JimBo-jf2qpYip, actually with those tiny but very good Clippy or Usi Pro earbud-sized stereo omni mics, you could easily make your own. Expect imminent mannequin head thievery ;)

Urrrrrrrrrrrrrrr, ummmmmm, NNNN? Eeeeeeh.... Anyway, I wish more companies would make speakers designed for normal rooms, not directional speakers designed to be listened to just from one specific spot. But in this setup it seemed the white speakers did really well.

Higher the frequency more directional it is.
