My good friend is going through a (messy) divorce - he offered a generous sum of money, let her keep 1 of 2 cars (that he bought & pays for), gave up the house (that he also bought), will continue paying literally everything for their 3 kids... Alimony is the most ridiculous thing ever. Once you're divorced you shouldn't have to take care of your ex. It's like paying for a car that you no longer own. People get remarried and still get Alimony from their ex spouse. It's like quitting your job and expecting to still get paid.
